Katerina's body at the abandoned ships for scrap .From my workshop ''Dance at the Scrap'' in Elefsis port.Attika Greece.
I decided (not by chance) to present this seminar at the Elefsina Shipyards... which is located between the "TITAN" cement industry and the oil refineries (the largest in Greece, of the former ΄΄Petrola΄΄΄΄ (Latsis) and now Hellenic Petroleum (ELPE).
The area was familiar to me from the mid-80s, when ENA magazine did a report on the pollution of the environment in Eleusis, as an archaeological site.
I wanted, with the broader theme of "Body in Space", to demonstrate the desolation of the environment in a city which is also the cultural capital of Europe... The flexible beautiful body of @katerinamaragkaki refers to the contrast between the ugly and the beautiful, with the foolish hope that "beauty will save the world..." (Dostoyevsky ΄΄The Idiot'' 1868).
