About me. Hi! My name is Shaun, I am a mature photographer who took up digital photography after a long break from 35mm film photography. Partially disabled with chronic osteo-arthritis and scoliosis of the spine so I don't move particularly fast these days, I am a part-time, internationally exhibited and published general photographer;  my images have been exhibited  in over 73 exhibitions and  published in various online and printed publications; including in the online version of Amateur Photographer and, on numerous occasions,  the front cover of the Royal Photographic Society’s Heritage Photography Journal, in the RPS Landscape Group photo journal, and regularly feature in rugby reports on Lincolnshire Live and other rugby channels. I have Level 3 and Level 4 (advanced, Distinction) diplomas in photography, and am currently an MA Photography student wth Falmouth University due to graduate Dec 2024. 

I am an animal lover. I value good manners and good communications, and dislike discourtesy; courtesy and good manners cost nothing!  Am a retired Chartered Manager and Chartered Fellow of the CMI, and have Masters and Bachelor degrees in Training and Strategic Management. As an RAF Reserve Officer I was also a First Aid Instructor Trainer, a Small Arms Instructor, qualified US Marine Corps Pistol marksman, and a qualified Combat Marksmanship Coach.

DBS CERTIFICATE HELD.  Fully vaccinated and boosted, and flu jabbed. 

Member of various photographic societies; the Royal Photographic Society, the Disabled Photographers' Society, Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers, Society of International Fashion & Glamour Photographers,  Society of International Sport & Leisure Photographers, and Society of International Nature & Wildlife Photographers. I have been the resident photographer for the local parkrun, photographer for various clubs e.g. Lincoln Rugby Club Ladies & University of Nottingham Women's Rugby rugby teams, and official photographer for various other athletics and running events.

My photography. Specific interests include aviation, sports, wildlife, portraiture, glamour, architectural and landscape photography. I shoot all levels, from fashion and portraits to art nude. Higher levels possible by negotiation, but not pornographic. I enjoy portfolio build shoots. I prefer a natural look. I am a co-operative, easy going, collaborative photographer, with a good sense of humour, with many references commenting on my respectful manner and gentlemanly qualities.

Influences - many and varied spanning various genres, including Helmut Newton, Cecil Beaton, Peter Lindbergh, Terence Donovan, Annie Lebowitz, Sebastiao Salgado, Ansel Adams, Todd Hido,  Nan Goldin, Don McCullin, Richard Misrach, Diane Arbus, Chris Chapman, Chris Killip, Raymond Depardon, Robert Darch, Marc Wilson, Justin Minns.  

Models and  chaperones. In general, I choose not to work with models under the age of 18, if I do it will be age- appropriate and with the agreement of and in the presence of one or both parents.  I prefer models aged 18-21 to be accompanied by a chaperone on all shoots. Models under the age of 21 will be politely asked to provide proof of ID and age including one current photographic ID. Failure to do so will result in cancellation of the shoot. I am happy to provide full details of my name, address, vehicle etc to models up front to give them peace of mind. Will consider other chaperones on the basis that they are there purely for the model's sense of security and peace of mind, and do not interfere with the shoot. Any and all costs associated with chaperones are to be met by the model / chaperone including all travel and subsistence expenses.

Copyright / Watermarks/Usage. Models may be asked to sign model release forms. Any images supplied may, at my discretion, carry copyright marks / logos. Images may be used for non-commercial purposes on modelling sites and social media, conditional upon my being credited as the photographer. I may publish images on PP / Facebook / Instagram, in selected magazines through KAYVAR, but never in a way which is likely to cause any embarrassment.

Please note that, unless expressly authorised by me in writing, images supplied by me are not to be re-edited or re-cropped including using filters on snapchat, Instagram or any other application, as this may downgrade the image and not be representative of the photographic effort that has gone into the shoot, and may be detrimental to my standing as a photographer.

I WILL PROVIDE MY TELEPHONE NUMBER WHEN CONFIRMING THE BOOKING OF THE SHOOT. I WILL EXPECT THE MODEL / MUA TO PROVIDE THEIR NUMBER AT THIS POINT. I WILL CONFIRM THE SHOOT IN THE WEEK / UP TO 48 HOURS BEFORE THE SHOOT.

TO AVOID WASTED FUEL / TIME / JOURNEYS, AND DUE TO TOO MANY NO-SHOWS OVER THE PAST 9 YEARS  (FOR GOOD REASONS OR NOT) - ON THE DAY OF THE SHOOT I WILL MESSAGE YOU BEFORE I LEAVE HOME  - IF YOU DO NOT RESPOND I MAY ASSUME THE SHOOT IS  CANCELLED, I MAY NOT TRAVEL AND I WILL NOT PAY CANCELLATION FEES.
