Waking up after a nightmare and then looking in the mirror...

Had another absolutely fantastic shoot with Rob last week, it just keeps getting better and better. Twisted, sadistic and sensibly chilling mind that Rob has, he comes up with the most terrifying (in a good way) ideas.

I've seen some of the shots already and the made me drop my phone..! They gave me such a fright, and they are absolutely outstanding. The level of craftsmanship, blood, sweat and tears to edit the images the way you do is magical.

Thanks again so much I always have such fun on your shoots, literally can't wait till the next one!!

More fun and frolics ;)

Oh me again - my sixth shoot with the creative and strangely disturbing man that is Roberto Segate! This time we added Mog to the shamanic magic mix! :)

Such weird shoot! All sorts of things went wrong and conspired against us! We went to a derelict house and did lots of bizarre things, involving masks, candles, and hot wax. A lot of the usual dark stuff.... Everything I love about working with Rob!

But I'm not sure if this shoot was meant to happen - so many things went wrong! Some really strange and loud banging sounds in the house REALLY freaked us out. At midnight, in a derelict house, with just a few candles for light... As you can imagine, it was scary!! So... it turned out that it was a trapped starling! But it totally spooked us! And it had us on edge thereafter, and there were more moments like this, where we nearly packed up and ran.

Despite the various set backs, I thoroughly enjoyed my shoot with Rob - I was in fits of laughter too - when I wasn't shitting myself over our imminent death - and it's shoots like these that make me love modelling so much - I need more thrilling adventures like this - I can't wait for the next one - just no more trapped starlings next time please!?

100% recommended, naturally.... If you want something creative and different in your portfolio, and you like an adventure on your shoots, this is the photographer for you! Rob is just utterly awesome, so laid back, great fun, incredibly creative, and so easy to talk to and get along with. His cutting sense of humour has me in stitches. I love my shoots with Rob and I can't wait for the next one - which is going to be epic!!

Ahh of all the people I will miss when I move away from Wales, this bright, fascinating artist will be right up there in the list. Arriving at his place, you find yourself swept into another world of enthusiasm and bizarre ideas... and the masks that he's been working on add a whole new level of creepy-but-oh-so-cool. And just like the preparation and the post processing that he puts so much time into, he also scouts and discovers locations that are suitably, uniquely bleak, otherworldly and unsettling.. if you're tired of doing the same things again and again you need a shoot with Rob to get your creative spark blown back to a burning flame.

Me again! :)

I had a cancelled shoot, and I was in the area, so I messaged Rob and asked could I drop by and smear mud and slime over my naked body, and crawl around in some dark and cold tunnels.... as you do....

Not one to say no to something spontaneous like that, and already used to such improper and anti-social behaviour, we were soon freezing our tits / balls off in above mentioned tunnels, inhaling parrafin smoke and having fun making dark and experimental imagery!

For once there was a distinct lack of raw eggs, (only because they were forgotten), but lots of fire, and candle wax, as well as mud, slime, and fake blood, as I went into feral mode.

After a few false starts / set backs, due to issues with locations, we soon got going and adapted our ideas to what we had to work with, and where we ended up.

Working with Rob is a pure delight - he is such good fun - I love his approach to his shoots and his laid back way of working - allowing creativity to flow, and happy accidents to shape and direct the way things evolve and develop. I'm happy to put myself through a lot of discomfort for Rob, as I know the results will always be worth it!

The guy's a genius - but don't tell him that - I'd hate for it to go to his head! ;)

So, this was my fourth shoot with Rob (the last two were video projects).

As usual, the shoot was a relaxed and creative affair, evolving constantly, naturally, with just a loose framework and the usual ingredients of grime, filth, darkness, fire, danger, dereliction, masks, anonymity, and raw eggs.... :)

Rob makes all his masks from scratch. I love seeing his creations, and his work truely inspires me! Both his masks and his photography are exceptional - unique!! Such incredible and creative talent!

Rob creates eerie, dark and unsettling images with a great deal of anonymity, grain, scratches, and image blur. It leaves the viewer questioning, and stirs up all sorts of thoughts and feelings. I enjoy images such as these - they have weight and substance to them. They are beautiful works of art!

Working with Rob is fantastic - he's so easy to get with! This time we had the awesome Silk with us - and what a fab team we made!! I really enjoyed every second! I loved how we all worked together, all throwing ideas into the melting pot of collaborative creative juices, until it overflowed into a gloop of sticky raw eggy mess.... (I guess you had to be there...).

I can highly recommend working with this man. His approach to his shoots is fantastic and any suffering is always worth it! Each shoot has been a real adventure, full of insanity - and always laughter too.

I always drive home feeling mucky but inspired and happy - and always looking forward to the next time!

Plenty more ideas in the pipeline.... so watch this space....

Worked with Rob again for the third time yesterday, with another model 'Leaf' and it certainly was something special.

We only had some loose ideas for the shoot and planned to let it flow organically throughout the day and I loved it!

We covered several different sets working with stills and video which was a new experience for me!

Rob is absolutely the 'King of darkness' and such a creative genius, it's always very inspirational being around him and just witnessing his creative flow. He is also hilarious, I think all 3 of us didn't stop laughing all day.

You know it's been an awesome shoot when you leave with more ideas than when you arrived :)

It was very clear to me the Rob is an absolute marvelous photographer and the ideas he has from what he wants to get from the shoot are out of this world! I loved all of his work on his port and when he agreed to do a shoot with me I was delighted.

I had the most brilliant day with Rob in the freezing cold mind you, working hard together to get some great images. Endless amounts of laughter was had on the day and some of this can be captured in the images!

I am super excited to see some finished results from Rob as I know the final image will be so far from the original but even more epically awesome!

Can't thank Rob enough for such a fab collaboration and I can't wait to work with him again!

This reference is for two shoots, with the most awesome Mr Segate, in December and January.... Both involved video work, in various freezing cold, filthy, dark and derelict locations. And fire and raw eggs. Always fire and eggs!! :)

Video work is not something I am normally interested in at all. However, I made the exception for Rob... as I knew it would be arty, creative, mysterious, anonymous, inspiring, and great fun!

These shoots were a collaborative process between Rob, myself, and two friends of his, whom I had not met before.

Having already worked with him on an epic and mind-blowingly amazing photoshoot on Bonfire night, I knew more of what to expect with this mad man. I'm not sure just quite how prepared I was for just how crazy these two shoots got!! What an incredible adventure!

I am very much drawn to the more novel, different, dangerous, and creative experiences... I need new adventures and new ideas all the time! Whether it be sitting on a wrecked couch on the upper floor of a derelict house, in complete darkness, covered in candle wax - or playing car boot tetris, and driving around in a small car with 4 people, 3 full body mannequins, weapons, flammable liquids, and other random items - or creating dark sinister parrafin smokey voodoo erotic magic in a cold dark tunnel with three strangers - all these mad experiences make me feel alive!

Shooting with Rob is incredible - an unforgettable experience! And so much fun! We finished at 2am on the second shoot, and we were working until 4am on our third! The journey took me right out my comfort zone and gave so much back to me, on so many levels. This guy is a genius!

As a team, the four of us worked so well together. The ideas just flowed! Rob was the gel that held us all together, directing where necessary, and allowing us our own creative expression and direction too.

What amazing shoots!! And I am so happy to have made three new friends from this. I cannot recommend Rob enough... thank you!! :) X

WOW!! Well I knew that this shoot was going to be more than just a bit special!! :)

Rob's work is incredible - I love the creativity and its complete uniqueness. It is beautifully dark and unsettling and this moves me - I love this deep emotional respose.

Rob is very easy to talk to and I felt instantly at ease in his presence. Upon arrival at his house I was greeted by a table full of hand made masks, made especially for this shoot, which impressed me and got me feeling tremendously excited and inspired!! These masks were truely awesome!! What a wonderful talent this guy has!!!

We went to a local location - a cold and dark tunnel - and began making magic... I had a good idea of what Rob wanted to achieve, and he was able to direct me well (much needed when one is wearing a mask!). It was a collaborative shoot, and Rob welcomed my input into this and we developed the ideas together.

The shoot involved a journey to the dark side and a lot of cold and discomfort. I got instantly mucky (always a good sign!) and I enjoyed every second of it!

We then went to an area of woodland as night fell, to continue the shoot. We lit a fire and continued the shoot in front of this. It was bonfire night - the sound of sirens and fireworks everywhere was incredible and just added to the unforgettable atmosphere and mood. It was an intense 6 hours or so and the time simply flew by!

It was such an amazing experience to do something like this. This sort of creativity really excites me - this is where I want to go - and this is just the sort of shoot that will have such a positive influence on me - I feel so inspired by this!

Rob is a real gentleman and is very easy to work with, communicates well, and made me feel completely at ease and my input highly valued. He was attentive to my comfort and safety at all times and treated me with respect and dignity. His work is of exceptional quality and I would highly recommend working with him!!

We have already discussed working together again and I have to say, I cannot wait!! I am keen to start making my own props to bring to our shoots too. I can feel the creativity well up inside me here and this brings me so much joy! Thank you Rob! :)

I recently had the pleasure of shooting with Roberto and it was a truly wonderful experience :)

He's very easy going and utterly professional.He also gives great direction and knows exactly how to get the best from his models,within a relaxed,comfortable atmosphere.

I was very excited to work with Roberto,given his high standard of work and our shoot exceeded all prior expectation!

He is an extremely talented artist and very genuine guy-i certainly hope we can work together again in the near future.

I had my second amazing shoot with Rob on Saturday.

This shoot had been a while in the making, we decided to shoot again immediately after our first shoot a few months ago.

Rob and I click and tend to both have a penchant for the macabre weird strange oddities in life, I get what he does and I'm proud to be part of it.

Rob had organised for a male model to join us and together we went over the concepts and boards Rob had put together.

Rob has a great eye for detail and is passionate about what he does, he gives amazing direction whilst still allowing his models artistic freedom and collaborates n every level.

He has a wealth of props and costumes, puppets and trinkets and a huge airy home studio with tea and coffee on tap.

We got through a ton of ideas in 7 hours and still ran out of time before we did everything, so much so I'm popping back tomorrow for more creepy craziness. Thanks Rob :)

I feel ever so privileged that I keep coming back to ask for another shoot every few months, and Rob keeps saying yes.

Visiting Rob is a completely different proposition to being booked for a shoot, really. And yet the best shoot you will have all month at the same time.

Bring your most fascinating and bizarre props, outfits and accessories. Go off piste with your selections, pack that bag with All Of The Strange. He will love you for it.

As a model, you probably have a creative streak a mile wide. Rob's is a place to drink some tea, pet a lovely old kitty, marvel at some expressive, clever puppets (this was an exciting new surprise for my latest visit, the art just keeps expanding!) and get in touch with the dark and twisted side of your creative streak.

The results will always be worth waiting for, too. But they speak for themselves if you're on this page :)

I shot with the amazing Roberto on my recent trip to South Wales after a couple of months of chatting and boy was it everything I hoped it would be!

From the minute I arrived I was made to feel at home with a cuppa and a lovely salad for lunch. Roberto and I went through the clothes I had bought along and he showed me his props and amazing masks he had made and gave me a full briefing on the shoot ahead.

We drove to an amazing location which was perfect for the shoot and because of Robertos amazing planning we were able to smash out a ton of amazing concepts which were as creepy as hell, in our own words bloody disgusting but we loved it.

Roberto is lovely warm and funny and was always checking I was warm enough, loaning me a lovely warm blanket and allowing sufficient breaks between ideas.

I adore Robertos style and love of the macabre. We share a mutual love of all things wierd and wonderful and I can't wait to see the amazing images Roberto produces from our shoot. We have already arranged to shoot again and I know it will be fabulous :)

Rob and I had been discussing a shoot for a while and Finally the day arrived!!! :) the merry band of myself Aries (+Karl) and Rob bumbled off to a WW2 bunker for some random freaky messed up stuff involving wedding dresses, sailors hats and masks... I am very much looking forward to the output.

Rob is great to work with and has a very unique approach which is very relaxed and easy going. He knows what he's aiming for and gives great direction, the whole experience was great fun and a really good creative outing!

I would definitely recommend working with Rob if you get the opportunity.... you know it will be different, almost certainly not pretty lol! and a standout piece on any portfolio

I shot with Rob and Diego at the beginning of January (after illness on my part put paid to our original date) on location in Llanelli.

Rob welcomed me into his home, as he always does, and gave both Diego and I a great briefing so we knew exactly the sort of shots we were going for.

He was understanding when my IBS flared up just before we left, and allowed me time to sort myself out without feeling pressured (thankfully was minor flare up!).

On the shoot he was brilliant with direction, we could see his plans for shots almost as clearly as if they were in front of us, so his preparation and explanations were beyond exemplary.

His communcation is also second to none, he's stayed in touch to inform me of the editing as it has progressed, and I really can't wait to see the results.

I recommend Rob 100%, and cannot wait to work with him again.

I had my first shoot yesterday and I was quite nervous but I instantly felt comfortable once we got down to it. Roberto was easy to get on with and professional. I had great fun trying out his ideas and getting messy. Really looking forward to seeing the finished images. Would highly recommend!

However I love it he is an amazing person what I like the most is his honesty in what he thinks.

He is really nice and he got some weird mind for the darkness which I like it.

I like it so much I can stop laughing.

And for the first time Roberto teached me to act and I think I did.

Also I have to thank you Roberto for his honest comments.

I find this very refreshing true is always a very powerful thingh to better uself and others

I finally got to shoot with Rob for the 1 st time whilst on my recent Welsh tour and what a fantastic shoot it was!

He is such a creative individual, who blew me away with his ideas and lighting set up....I can't fault anything that he did, his angles were perfect, he hosted me beautifully!

But most of all, his mind is amazing - creating those scenes and stories that come from his wonderful imagination, it was stunning to watch.

I can't recommend Rob enough, he is a fabulous photographer with a weird and wonderful head for the dark, obscene and beautiful :)

Had my second shoot with this dark genius! Can't believe I left it so long, won't let that happen again. Absolutely mad and fun experience doing lots of crazy things and getting great images but most of all - I haven't laughed so much on a shoot yet!! Great banter, my jaw was in pain by the end of the day 😀

Can't wait to see what Rob does with the pictures, nothing less than awesome I'm sure.
