References for Alicia Black

Today I was lucky enough to do one of the last shoots with Alicia at her beautiful Georgian apartment in Bath.

We made the most of it, shooting all through the property: both of the main rooms plus the doorstep and street out the front and the courtyard out the back! We covered many fashion- and art-nude styles, including some daring shots outside, and ended with a lovely portrait session in the fading sunlight, aided by a beauty dish.

Alicia is always a joy to work with, combining a fun and friendly nature with an abundance of technical know-how to help me perfect my shots. She also had the balls to do a shot today that I wouldn't even have dared to ask for, and the determination to pull it off, waiting patiently for the right moment to do it on an afternoon that was unexpectedly full of people out for a walk!

I'm a little sad to have reached the end of this chapter in the story of our shoots today, but on the other hand it means an exciting new chapter opens up next :-) I've followed Alicia through two changes of apartment already and fully intend to do so again, wherever it may take me next -- which is a fair measure of the fact that I can't recommend Alicia too highly!

Our next adventure is already planned and is something very different to challenge us both, which I'm really looking forward to already :-)

Had my first photo session with Alicia .. today at F/8 Studio.

A wonder to work with, polite, friendly & chatty, suggested ideas & poses for the studio props that I decided to used, producing some lovely results, still currently viewing the images.

Alicia is a true professional in every way, with the ability to put the photographer at ease, I hope to be able to have another photo session again with her in the near future.

f/8 Studio

Had Alicias first ever model day at f/8 today. A fully sold out event. In fact she was that popular we had two late cancellations due to Covid which resold and then still had a wait list and a call on the day to see if there was space. What can I really say about a model that gleans that much interest.

Well, Alicia was an absolute joy to host. Superb modelling skills, a wonderful personality, chatty, fun to be around and a great with every tog we had in. Nothing was too much trouble, ideas flowed, Alicia put in loads of creative input. This was just an absolute joy and I will welcome her back to the studio any time she wants to come.

Only down side is that she was that popular I didn't get the time to shoot her myself. That will be arranged soon.

Cannot recommend highly enough. Great day had by all.

I was really happy to join my favourite partner in crime for a studio day at f/8 Studio today. One slot became available at the last minute and I couldn't resist the opportunity to try something new with her (and help ensure her day remained a fully-booked success), having shot with her many times in the past, mainly in home shoots at her apartment.

Today was very different for me to what we've normally done in the past, but needless to say Alicia was able to turn her hand to it with the greatest of ease, so if studio shoots are your thing then don't hesitate to book her! She's just as inspired, creative, energetic and all-round lovely in a studio as she is in Georgian flats (and, I dare say, anywhere else, for that matter) ;-)

I am very pleased with the pictures from today's shoot. Given that most of the shoot was done with no props or clothes -- just one of PurplePort's best art nude models sitting, standing, laying (and pulling impromptu out-of-this-world yoga poses!) on a bare floor in a few square metres of space -- it was a joy to find how easily and productively the whole of our two hour slot was filled. We did both high-key and low-key lighting setups and got striking results from both, and still had time left for a beautiful portrait shot at the end :-)

Highly recommended as always, and I'm looking forward to our next regular shoot very soon now, albeit also going off our usual beaten track as we find new ways to challenge each other on our continuing joint photographic adventure...!

After nearly eighteen months of exchanging mails, the virus lockdown we managed to arrange our first shoot yesterday! Alicia is simply one of the best models on Purpleport and it was a really enjoyable shoot. She lives in a gorgeous apartment with lovely feautures and she posed without any direction ranging from nudes to lingerie and fashion. Her portfolio is great and I am really looking forward to our next shoot very soon. Thanks again Alicia for a lovely shoot. Highly recommended.

First time shooting with the lovely Alicia at a modern studio apartment in London.

Precomms were good and on meeting Alicia was impressed with her as a model : her current portfolio of great images drew me to shoot with her and all lived up to expectations with her great looks, a great figure and very pure white skin. Also impressed with her knowledge on the other side of the camera and her perseverance and experience in developing her photographic skills.

She had brought a nice array of outfits, lingerie etc, was very easy to communicate with and share ideas, especially considering her understanding of what makes a great photograph, and was very relaxed, flexible and works hard at her modelling/posing to create the image.

Definitely like to work with her again.

Highly recommended.

This was my first shoot with Alicia and it was a great experience. Very professional from the start of communication right through to the end. Alicia was happy to freely pose and follow direction.

Really well prepared with may items of clothing to choose from.

Great shoot with a great model. Of course Alicia looks fantastic but she's also an accomplished, confident and versatile model. She managed to cater for all my requirements during the session enthusiastically and competently.

If it wasn't for the distance between us I wouldn't hesitate to work her again - hopefully we can work around that sometime in the future.

Pre-shoot communications were great. Shoot was diverse but Alicia adapted to each situation. Lovely conversation and it was certainly a bonus having someone with a great knowledge of photography. Very easy to get along with. Lots of new ideas undertaken in which Alicia was really enthusiastic to try out. Super results.

Followed up our shoot a few days ago with a little editing session this evening :-) Alicia has kindly helped me with Lightroom/Photoshop editing techniques on a couple of occasions in the past, and it was good to go over things once more and also dig deeper into some of the less obvious things she does that make her own edits so fabulous.

As with the photography itself, Alicia's generous assistance constantly helps me improve, and there is always something new that she can show me to take me another step further. I doubt that I'll ever catch her up, but either way it's always good to spend a little more time in the company of this lovely young lady and her boundless energy and enthusiasm :-)

Had the excellent surprise of another shoot with Alicia yesterday, arranged at very short notice after some other potential dates that I'd been enquiring about recently hadn't been possible. She's a very busy lady, so it's always fabulous news to secure another shoot with her :-) We shot in the late afternoon / early evening, working indoors on yet another rainy day (where is summer this year?!), starting off with the last of the good day-light and gradually introducing more flash and fill light as the natural light faded. We covered a range of fashion nude / boudoir style shots on the bed, and art nudes in front of the beautiful old stonework of the Georgian fireplace (looking gorgeous in the warm-coloured lighting set-up!).

As usual, we worked quickly and productively, knowing each other quite well by now after numerous previous shoots, so we also had time for a nice catch-up chat over a short coffee break half-way through the shoot. Alicia is always a great help to me in adjusting the lighting quickly to match the changing conditions, giving me twice as many good shots as I'd manage to get otherwise. If you put her photography/lighting talent together with her magical posing skills, heavenly good looks and charming, easy-going personality then it's not hard to see why she's always in such great demand. And today her adorable black and white cat kept us company throughout for the icing on the cake of another perfect shoot :-) Top marks all round, and 110% recommended from me.

Thank you as always, Alicia, for the continuing good times of our shoots together! Long may they continue, and hopefully we will finally get to do some proper location shoots this summer as well ;-)

I had a nice shoot at Alicia’s home. Her ground floor flat in the city centre of Bath has beautiful Georgian styling. There are two room to shoot from the living room and the bedroom. The living room has great sun light in the mornings and the bedroom as the light in the afternoon. The rooms a nicely and appropriately furnished to complement the style.

Alicia knows the best location in the rooms where to shoot from and what works. She also provides advice on what camera lens to use, and settings has she takes photos herself, which is useful for beginners has she can direct you.

Alicia has got a good selection of outfits, some she made herself, which were impressive. She can pose without direction very easily and has got a very good knowledge of art nude posing.

I can highly recommend Alicia to shoot with. Book her now before she moves again.

Great shoot with Alicia, thoroughly recommend her. 2 hours flew by and able to get some fabulous and very natural shots. Great attitude, nothing too much trouble, just a pleasure to work with.

She is very professional and immaculately turned out, taking great care in her poses to create the right look and to ensure that the picture works technically and aesthetically. Her technical knowledge is also very good so she is an expert in getting the right lighting, and has all the right kit if you need an extra item.
