Been an avid admirer of Jon's work for many years, which is unique, classical and visually stunning, so when the second opportunity to join one of Jon's creative workshops, couldn't resist. Jon has a very laid back style, very concise in his presentation and completely approachable, straight away he makes you feel at ease and enjoys a good laugh!

The workshop allows you to see light in a different way and by the use of simple objects in front of the lens, produces these very surreal but beautiful images.

Cannot recommend Jon highly enough, one of the major creative forces in photography today, shall look forward to the next workshop!!

I was so lucky to have worked with Jon recently, I’ve been looking forward to this shoot for some time.

You only have to look at his portfolio to see the quality of work he produces. He works so effortlessly and really has a fantastic eye.

We worked through loads of sets and he has already sent me the set of images ❤️ Which I adore.

Wowzier blows me away every time we had such an awesome day shooting in sunny felixstowe. It was amazing place we shot some natural light photos indoors & then ventured outside in the sun to catch some rays & have a fun proactive day shooting various sets. Jon has an amazing eye for the smaller detail and perfecting the frame & shot. Jon has such a great sense f humour such a joy to be around & learn things every time a true master of his trade & so lucky & honoured he asked me again back when shooting first time around. I absolutely adore all the various sets we shoot & love the work produced. I cannot wait to work with him again highly recommend & looking forward to our next shoot :)

I had a great shoot with Jon last week. I admired his work for some time so I contacted him and asked for a shoot. I was so pleased when Jon agreed and we arranged a date. The pre-shoot communication was great and we discussed all the details of the shoot. The shoot with Jon was chilled and very creative. Jon was full of ideas and the way he captures images is impressive. I was very surprised when I realised it was not actually editing that made Jon's images so unique and outstanding. Jon was very friendly and we had a good chat too. I liked what I saw at the back of the camera and really looking forward to the images. Thank you Jon for shooting with me.

Wowziers what can I say such an incredible talent have admired Jons work for a long time.I was so excited to collaborate on such a great day and get such a variety of images on various backdrops and scenary I had organised and still never enough time to fit it all in ha ha.Jon was so easy to get along fun we had lots of laughs and so inspiring.We shot some portraits from home and I was lucky enough to arrange a friends pool with a large garden & back yard area to.It was perfect weather the sun was shining but sometimes came over a little overcast which was perfect to. Last week with the option of shooting in person out of the window for the forseeable, Jon suggested trying something a little different. I happily took him up on the offer and, with once some minor technical issues were sorted out we had a great short and sweet shoot over webcam.

As ever, Jon is a pleasure to work with, whether in person or remotely and the results are everything I could have hoped for. As ever, looking forward to the next one! :)

I have worked with Jon two times and we are planning too do a shoot next year. He is so unique it’s unreal, his company is just wicked he has a very kind soul, full of energy and always makes you smile. His photography is one of my favourite in this industry because it’s different the way he capture and his technique. His so full of positive vibes it makes me want to work with him even more. There is a reason why everyone loves working with Jon, he is not only a talented creative photographer but he is absolutely hilarious and fun to shoot with! He has many tricks up his sleeve (all of which I love and find highly inspiring) he also sends lots of options with edits and soooo many edits! We shot at Neon Dreams Studio and I love how he shot the Neons but also had an idea of shooting outside in the car which looked awesome. Always loved Jon's work, love the mood and the way he manages to portray his subjects in a creative and thoughtful way. So when the double opportunity arose to attend one of Jon's workshops, together the stunning Theresa Louise, this was a no brainer.

Jon took us through various techniques that were just awesome, so well explained and the results spoke for themselves. This was by far one of most enjoyable workshops I've been on and cannot recommend Jon highly enough, what a lovely man as well. Thanks Jon!

Attended a workshop run by Jon at Big Shot Studio. Never attended a workshop before (still new at this), but all I can say is if you ever get the chance to work alongside or learn from Jon, do it. He's a great tutor whose teaching style is totally hands-on and practical, and honestly one of the nicest people I've met while on my photography journey.

The phrase 'thinking outside the box' could have been coined specifically for Jon's approach and he certainly helps you add a fresh slice of creativity to your photography.

Jon has a great teaching style and the session was as enjoyable as it was productive.

If you haven't been on one of his workshops then you're missing out.

Total pleasure to be able to have one to one tuition with one of my all time favourite photographers. I have been a massive admirer of Jons work since I started out with my photography and have been wanting to do one of his workshops for a long time and yesterday I eventually got around to it and was not disappointed.

Jons workshop was nice and informal and totally hands on, on top of being a photographic wizard, Jon himself is a genuinely lovely guy, with a great sense of humour and a nice laid back approach to teaching his workshops. He tailored the workshop around my specific requirements, with detailed explanations behind each segment of the workshop we worked through. His explanations were clear, precise and easy to understand with practical demonstrations and great visual examples of what he was teaching.

I can honestly say I have got more out of Jons workshop than I have from any other I have attended since I started photography. He certainly, inspires and gets the creative juices flowing. With the wide array of props and implements that he brings along combined with his own photographic mastery and wizardry, his workshop is almost bordering on a photographic magic spectacle, and the great thing is he teaches you how to achieve the same great results. Now if that is not magic I don't know what is.

I can without any hesitation 1000% recommend you attend one of Jons workshops, if you are in a lull with your photography and you need inspiration, or you want to learn to get more creative with your photography, or you want to take your photography to another level you will most certainly achieve all these things by attending one of Jons workshops. Super highly recommended!

I've fucking missed this guy like crazy!

Since Jon moved a million miles away from me (well not a million but feels like it) we've not seen eachother or worked together.

Jon and I had a full day yesterday at Big Shot Studio. First a 1-2-1 tutorial and then a group workshop.

As usual we just picked up where we last left off. Love working with Jon. He's super talented and I will never ever get bored of his crazy shit.

I always feel so privileged to work with Jon, who has become a true friend and supporter - I don't tolerate many people for 3 days in a row :)

Jon is a bubbly and most interesting person I have worked with. After a 3 hour drive there, Jon made an a cup of tea and brought some crisp to munch. It’s always a bonus when your eating 😂 we did 5 sets and omg he is one of the best photographers I have worked with. He has a style that no one can’t beat. Fantastic person to talk to. We had slot of laughs on our photoshoot and I will definitely be working with Jon in the future. Just need to work with him again who won’t. I 200% recommend this outstanding photographer to anyone.

What can I say!!?? Mr Downs is one of my fav people ever! And he happens to be a phenomenal photographer too!

The main thing about Jon is he literally makes you feel at ease from the onset, he has such a kind, fun personality that comes through when you get the opportunity to shoot with him.

He is a creative genius,so be prepared to be wowed at his skills behind the lense!

From start to finish you will smile, laugh and laugh some more and feel a million dollars.

Always giving more than needed this man is just fabulous and I literally cannot wait for our next shoot in January.

OMG I have totally lost count of how many shoots we have shot together now, suffice to say its been ALOT!!!

I am really fortunate to count Jon as a close friend so when he suggested coming down for my birthday and doing some creative stuff I was thrilled. We didn't really have a set plan, and i don't really think Jon rolls that way but I love his add hock and relaxed approach to photography. We shot a real mix of styles from Boudoir, Erotic, Retro, Abstract and even some classic elegant fashions.

Jon is always a great laugh, and so much fun to work with, He's one of those people you feel comfortable with and therefore you comfortable to experiment and try new things with.

I trust Jon implicitly and can totally highly recommend working with him if you ever get the chance
