References for J9 Studios

I had a fantastic shoot with Jay yesterday.

Lots of communication before the shoot so we had a clear idea of the images we wanted to achieve.

Jay even provided me with clear directions to find the studio which was very helpful.

Jay is very laid back and lovely to work with. We got great images right from the start, he has already sent over a finished image which I absolutely love!

I am already looking forward to working with Jay again and would highly recommend working with him.

This is a great studio with lots of room to work in, would highly recommend using the Space.

Recently attended a class by Manuel Delaflor at J9, and could immediately see that this is a studio worth hiring. A high ceiling, with hoop and rope fixings and well spacious. It has the typical complement of lights and backgrounds. But the USP, well almost unique - there must be others, is that one end of the studio is the normal white paint and light floor. The other end is black with dark grey carpet - arguably, though perhaps counter intuitively - black is good as it enables greater control of the light by absorbing all ambient and spurious light.

Add to this: easy access;, easy parking; M5 a minute away, rail station not much further; nice kitchen; nice loos; decent changing privacy for models and, to top it all, the wonderful Jay and Kris looking after your every need.

Absolutely loved the Studio. The photos in here do not make it justice, its bigger than it appears to be, and it is very well equipped. The location has plenty of parking and it is also incredible for working outside the studio because of interesting features all around the building. The management team (Kristina and Jay) are AMAZING and they will make sure you have anything you need to have a nice and productive time.

Attended the talk on basic lighting on Saturday. It was full of information and was given with passion and a great understanding of the subject. I was only sorry that I did not book on the shoot after the talk but that was my mistake. The studio looks great and I would defiantly use it if I booked a model from that way. It is close to the motorway and other transport links and the map and information that was sent to everyone who attended was precise and informative. All in all a great day

I attended a portraiture masterclass with Manuel Delafor at J9 studio and had a great time. The management are caring, respectful and welcoming. The equipment and studio layout is excellent with plenty of room to be creative. I can certainly recommend this studio: and will use them again for my studio projects. As for my personal time with Manuel Delafor: great guy and excellent tuition

Lightstories

Used J9 once again for a acting client requiring head shots.

Once again everything was professional, all the equipment worked, (especially the kettle) and Kristina did everything she could to make the booking flow without a hitch.

Client happy, me happy. I'll be back :)

I have used J9 studio on a few occasions recently both Jay and Kristina are so friendly and very helpful. Private secure parking is right outside the entrance and there is a large lift to the first floor where the studio is situated. The studio has a high ceiling and is very spacious. Good selection of lights and modifiers. I will be back there soon. Mark.

Lightstories

I just used J9 for a 2 day video shoot and it all went swimmingly well.

They warmed the place up for us before we started and allowed us full use of the space. The light and dark areas both worked well for the project and I hope to use it again soon.

Bond

Model Elegance set up a Bond style photoshoot at J9 Studios.

I was very nervous about the shoot but had no reason to be.

Jay Jewell (Photographer) met me at the door and took me upstairs to the studio where I was greeted by Kristina who was so warm and friendly, I instantly took to her and relaxed immediately.

We only had a short time for the shoot but managed to get some fantastic shots. Everything was so professional yet so relaxed too. I felt like I had known all involved for ages.

The studio felt comfortable and I enjoyed the shoot very much.

I shot today with a photographer at J9 Studios for the first time. The studio is incredibly easy to get to by car, literally minutes from the motorway junction.

Jay welcomed us warmly as we arrived - we had refreshments & a tour around the inside & outside of the building so that we could see the shooting options which were varied & plentiful! Great opportunities inside & out. The studio itself has a couple of different backdrops, props & clothing to use. Clean facilities & a changing area. We were shooting on a Sunday so there was plenty of opportunity to shoot nude around the outside of the building which may not be so easy on a weekday.

Jay couldn't have been more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. It was a very hot day & he even drove off to source a fan for us & bring us ice cubes for our drinks which was hugely appreciated by both of us. Thank you Jay!

I would highly recommend the studio & would be more than happy to shoot there again. Jay you're a star, thank you so much :-)

Elegance

Really lovely little studio - I really enjoyed today's shoot - the studio doesn't have windows (I think...) so the photographer (Jay) set lights up - this was wonderful as it was extremely flattering and the pictures contained a beautiful mood feeling because of the light - out of all the studios ive worked in - I enjoyed the lighting and darkness of this studio the most! I would certainly use it again and recommend this 100%.

It has a large area for the rolls of background which we used for the entire shoot :-)

I saw a black sofa and wallpaper area - it contains a wardrobe of clothes for the models which was EXCEPTIONALLY useful and I forgot my dress!!!!! There was some jewellery and props like masks and bits and pieces. Very clean - tea and coffee facilities

A last minute arrangement as my intended shoot for the Friday got cancelled fortunately J9 Studios had a casting call at the right time.

Not the most expensive studio or the most elaborate in terms of facilities and equipment. Just after my first shoot here the best Studio I have photographed in.

Communications before and after the shoot were excellent, nothing too much trouble. Originally I wanted to photograph their resident model but as not available just yet, managed to arrange to photograph Scarlett Blaze after all on Friday.

Even got picked up from Cheltenham Spa station there and back, which was most kind. Nothing too much trouble. Very keen both Jay and Kris to make sure everything was alright, which is a big plus to me to have such a human touch. Water, information, props, costumes and so on.

Lights, Backdrops, all standard equipment and the grey backdrop worked very well on shoot. Had a good one too with results which is what you want from a shoot. Costumes and props available were very useful too.

They are available to help if needed and will also leave you to get on with your shoot as well, the latter is just as important which is a nice touch.

Plenty of potential in other parts and surroundings of the building to photograph too, will do that another time.

So I wouldn't hesitate to photograph here again. It is easy to get to by Rail and has great potential. In future I would certainly come here again for a Studio shoot, more than worth the fee.

Had my first shoot at J9 studio's, everything ran smoothly and the owners are very polite and helpful, offering to be around if needed and also leaving us to do our own thing...

Plus they made me feel comfortable throughout with a great sense of humour and a supply of drinks and biscuits.

The studio is spacious with high ceilings and a wide range of clothes, it is new but I feel they will be very popular, I could of spent all day there (maybe one day I will)

Highly recommend.

I and my friend Pierre both had a shoot at J9 Studios. The studio is very well equipped and there are tons of places you can shoot in this huge building.

Jay and Chris were both very friendly offering us soft drinks and making sure we had everything we needed. We really got on well :)

You won’t find a better studio because there is lots of potential in terms of shoots and cant recommend it enough.

I had the great pleasure to shoot in this new venture. The two people running this are Kris and Jay, both really helpful, nothing too much trouble. They'll happily butt out or with kris she'll happily help style, hold reflectors, provide a diy wind machine, make coffee, her enthusiasm is infectious! The studio itself is amazing with lots of space.

I had my first shoot at J9 studios yesterday and what an amazing location, very easy to find and loads of free parking. Lovely big building with so much character in and around the building.

It was Kris who greeted me, She was very welcoming, bubbly and down to earth. Everything you could want from a studio owner.

The Studio it's self was perfect, big open space and great backdrops and props and a very decent sized changing room.

I will defiantly be using this studio again in the future and can't recommend it enough.
