References for J9 Studios

Used J9 a couple of times this week. It’s such an easy place to get to with plenty of parking and a station minutes away.

Properly serviced kitchen and toilets (but I take my own milk) enhance the booking in this spacious high ceiling studio.

It has with pukka, but rare, fully black walls and ceiling at one end, pleasant changing room Bowens 500J , 2 x 400J , 2x 200 J , soft boxes , strip boxes , beauty dishes, barn doors, snoots , brollies galore, reflectors , wind machine, stands and boom . Plus White, grey and black background rolls and fabric backgrounds . A wide choice of chairs etc and a sofa,

I have shot at J9 few times now and I also had a pleasure to meeting owner - Jay!

Jay and his studio are fantastic ! Studio has lots of space and very cool props!

Changing area for models is very comfy and you have lots of room for your makeup and cases.

I truely enjoyed my shoots at J9 and I’m hoping to be back soon!

Violet Orchid

I had another lovely shoot at J9 studios today. Everything was clean, comfortable and well equipped as always. There is also now a beautiful new dressing area for models which is a gorgeous little stylish sanctuary! I would definitely recommend using J9 studios to any model, it's well run ,well located and has a lovely studio owner. I plan to be back soon!

With Gabriella again yesterday at J9, which has become the most convenient and well equipped studio for me, especially now I have become one of owner Jay’s trusted photographers.

It has always been better than the norm on kitchen, toilet and parking facilities. But Jay is continually improving things with new softboxes, backdrops , posing cubes and upgraded changing room.

Give it a try, whether photographer or modeI I am sure you will like as much as I do.

Another fine session at J9, with Jay ensuring that my model, Gabriella, was comfortable throughout. (And I did my best).

The spacious studio is divided into a black half and a white half. This time I used the white end for some product shots, but later there was plenty of room to stay at that end and move away from the background to darken it for some more moody without swapping ends. Good kitchen (which Jay kept in operation) clean loos and a changing area for models.

And if Jessica of previous reference wants a further opportunity to work at J9 she won't have to wait long as far as I am concerned...

Had my first studio photoshoot yesterday at J9 Studios with Jay. It was my first ever experience in a studio and I loved it! Was offered refreshments straight away and made to feel at home.

Loads of lights, a variety of backdrops, plenty of room to store my outfits, a nice changing room at the back AND the studio was heated (for which I’m very grateful as it was a very cold day)!

I would love the opportunity to shoot at J9 Studios again. Lovely facilities and Jay was amazing to work with. Highly recommend!

Great to be able to work again at J9 Studios. Jay is an awesome host and provides everything you could need. We created some fabulous images there and I would highly recommended Jay and the studio to anyone.

Elegance

I think this was my 4th or 5th shoot in J9 studios and again Jay was brilliant. Jay was there before our team arrived and had heated the room with a little blower heater and was immediately on the go with a cup of tea for us all. Jay was careful to make sure we had everything we needed and then gave us some space for our shoot by leaving us at the studio but was on hand with immediate text message correspondence for updates on where gels were and whether we could use things we found in the studio. Jays a lovely person and the studio was excellent for capturing some fantastic images we made we a brought in ring light. Lovely - thanks xxx

Sandra Elizabeth Hair and Make Up

This was the first I met Jay, I was the Mua on a shoot with Elegance and Straker hiring out his studio. Well, what a truly lovely gent! Met us all and instantly made us all a cuppa (always a win in my books), made sure his studio was warm with a little heater. What a gorgeous studio too, very spacious and clean. Would love to work here again in the future. Thanks Jay :-)

I've modelled at J9 studios once before and I was visiting Gloucestershire again so I dropped him a message to see if he new anyone that would like to work with me from his studio. Jay was really helpful and contacted the photographer I worked with last time and before I knew it, it was all arranged. I hope to plan my next trip much more in advance to hopefully spend some more time there. Jay is a great host with plenty of tea, biscuits and making sure the studio is warm enough as well as being on hand to help out. Thanks Jay!

I had a great shoot at J9 studios with Jay Jewell, we got some great shots, there's plenty of lighting, loads of space, an area for makeup and hair and a changing area too.

Jay allowed me to bring my mum and even my dog who we included in some of the shots.

We had a fantastic time and were surprised at how quickly time flew by.

I would definitely recommend J9 studios :)

Jay was very kind to let me and a photographer by the name of Orpentog use his studio. The studio is spacious, with good equipment and in a pretty convenient location. Jay was very helpful and courteous by offering us several cups of coffee! I hope to have another experience shooting there as it was a very enjoyable afternoon.

Used J9 studio yet again, confident of easy access, a warm welcome and hot drinks from Jay. And confident that it would be the right place for my first session with Violet Orchid under pukka studio lights (speedlights and windows are good, but not that good). And so it proved, plus plenty of space & good set of lights. Thanks Jay.

Had a studio shot and was incredibly pleased with the process.

The studio is equipped with all the necessary equipment for wonderful shooting. There is also a special place for disguises.

The studio manager was presenting during the process and provided assistance when necessary.

Perfect studio and pretty pictures.

Another cracking session at J9, with co-owner Jay keeping the tea flowing and the reflectors steady. And adding a couple of creative ideas to boot; the bonus I get from giving him a bit of camera time. With Jay's cool, calm and collected manner this photographer swapping didn't faze Vonnie, today's model. In fact she warmed to Jay and his studio, as will you when you give it go.

Today I had an opportunity to be photographed by John and Jay at J9 studios. They were both lovely and always made sure I've got everything I needed, and we got along very well, producing stunning photos on the way!

I'm a photographer myslef and by the first visit in the studio, I knew streight away that I'd like to come back and shoot myslef, as it's specious, has got lots to offer for photographers, great photo equipment was provided, various backgrounds and lots of props. Definitely recommend! :)

I modelled for the first time at J9 studios. Jay was a great host. The booking was arranged by the photographer but Jay was very organised and sent me a message with the directions in case which was nice.

Most importantly for any model the studio was nice and warm when we got there! Plenty of tea was on offer.

Kristina was there at the beginning of the shoot as well as Jay so she could help me into my corset which was greatly appreciated. They are both really friendly and chatty.

After attending a workshop at J9 a few weeks back , I was impressed enough to book it as the ideal studio for a session I had planned with Jade Lyon. It was ideally situated for us both plus co-owner Kristina was on hand to help with the 'wardrobe' - I welcomed having a female presence at this first shoot with Jade.

Co-owner Jay was super helpful as well, not least in keeping us topped up with tea.

Good lights and props; shooting set up has three different directions across the studio. A rare but useful feature is the separate 'dark end' and 'light end' with flooring to match. Clean kitchen and loos a few steps away. Easy parking and a rail station pretty close.

We were a bit late getting to the studio. Jay looked after us well and there is plenty of equipment to get the shots you want. Recommended. Si.
