The image is of the Milky Way taken from St Justinian's lifeboat station near St David's in Pembrokeshire, Wales. The Milky Way is our own Galaxy, looking into the flattened disk of stars. The dark clouds of interstellar dust are clearly visible, absorbing light from distant stars.

The imaging equipment used is a Sony A7Riv with a Laowa 15mm f/2 lens. This is a stack of 105 x 15s images.
