I had a fantastic shoot with Alan whilst he was staying in Birmingham.

The apartment had a great space to work from and had lots of potential with large windows and a stunning bathroom.

Alan was a joy to work with and we nattered the whole way through, it was nice to encounter someone that could hold a decent and rounded conversation on some more challenging topics

I really enjoyed the shoot and would recommend Alan to any model at any experience level

💖 This was my first time working with Alan he was so professional, bubbly and so friendly. Loved his sense of humour. He is very knowledgeable about everything which was so fascinating to hear and learning something new from him. I love how he was always talkative. It’s always my favourite when a photographer talks to you about everything.

I shot with Alan for the first time today at his Airbnb he had hired in Birmingham.

From the moment I arrived I was instantly put at ease by Alans chirpy and kind nature. After a quick visit to Sainsburys we got right into the shoot.

Throughout we chatted and laugh and had loads in common. He makes a mean coffee too. Alan is a wonder of information (being a professor) and I learnt many things today.

The nature of our shoot today was lingerie and I got through quite a few outfit changes which I’m sure will make for some nice images.

I would 100% recommend working with Alan to any model. He is professional, a complete gentleman and an extremely warm person.

I just had such an amazing and delightful shoot with Alan! I had wanted to shoot with him for a while now and we kept up communication well before today. Alan has been so understanding and patient with my responsibilities as a carer for my mum keeping me busy he was very thoughtful and kind and it never went unnoticed.

When I arrived for the shoot, Alan was extremely welcoming and conversation just kept rolling between us throughout the shoot which made a great atmosphere especially with the levels we were working with. His literally a encyclopaedia of knowledge and I enjoyed the company whilst striking my poses.

I had wanted to add more lingerie and implied looks to my port and he was the right person to go to and was so considerate throughout the shoot and a perfect gentleman!

I truly hope to cross paths again as I'd be happy to recommend Alan for a shoot with any model, thank you again for a lovely shoot!

I had my first shoot with Alan today and wow what a fab shoot and day.

Alan is just superb, he is so friendly, polite, caring and super enthusiastic and passionate about his photography. He is so talented in every aspect of photography and the passion for what he does definitely shows in every picture.

Alan is such a breath of fresh air, he's super down to earth and very easy to talk to. The four hour shoot went by so quickly today and I would be happy to shoot with Alan again.

I'm looking forward to seeing all of what we created today and if your a model thinking of shooting with Alan, do so! You won't be disappointed.

After waiting a long time for COVID regulations to relax, I finally got the opportunity to shoot with Alan. I have been in contact with Alan for quite some time before the shoot to update on potential shoots (based on covid circumstances). Alan is very easy to be around, and can keep a conversation going - both of these are incredibly important to make a model feel comfortable during a shoot!

Alan captured some lovely images (if I do say so myself). He is excellent for both experienced models and new models. Alan offers a shooting room and a personal bathroom and bedroom exclusively for models use. I would definitely recommend Alan, and look forward to potentially shooting with him in the future!

I did a 4 hour shoot with Alan at his home studio. He was professional, respectful and communicative throughout. Alan and his wife were very welcoming and I felt very comfortable at all times.

Alan’s pre- and post shoot communications were great. He referred me to collections of his work so I knew what he was looking for in the shoot, and knew what to bring with me.

Alan was very easy to work with and I would certainly recommend him to other models who are thinking of working with him.

I had a delightful shoot with Alan! It was 100% worth the round trip to Middlesborough where I was looked after with the nicest hospitality by he and his wife at Alan's home studio - a place which offered ample opportunity to make lovely pictures. In fact my biggest regret is being so horribly late in leaving Alan a reference - which is no reflection on him at all and purely because of a LOT of things happening on my side which put me behind. I can honestly say that I 100-million percent vouch for this gentleman, and here's why...

Alans communications were great from the start, he provided clarity from the outset in shoot preparations and portrayed a great deal of respectful tone early on. As a model you always get a vibe about the person you are due to work with when messages begin... It doesn't give you much away but you can appreciate when someone comes across with good etiquette before you even meet - which was certainly the case with Alan. 😊 He was clear and concise to help me be as organised as I could from my side which is a big help too. The everlasting dilemma for a model is: what to bring (or what not to bring if you're like me and bring your whole wardrobe just in case! 🙈) So nicely organised pre-shoot comms always win some points in my book!

On the day of the shoot, Alan showed me through and helped me to where I could base myself in a private changing area at his home with space for hair/makeup and looking at outfit options. The shoot started ever so relaxed with teas and coffees first on the agenda (delicious nibbles for an energy boost were also supplied during the shoot!) It was a lovely environment with all the good atmosphere for a shoot, I felt like my comfort and happiness was high on the list of things to cater to which was nice... And Alan's place was great in that we could take breaks downstairs and admire the fabulous art he has on the wall and in books whilst we had refreshments and recharged, having a good chat with he and his wife who are the loveliest of people. ❤ From a hosting aspect: he has clearly thought through how to make his place a good location for hosting shoots, of course any creative has to remember that a home is predominantly a home (I know because I use my own for shoots too!) but the fact that Alan has really thought about, and taken steps to enable setting up shoots in a studio-like fashion (he has his own lights etc.) as well as offering models a separate changing space and then somewhere to get drinks if needed - he has ticked all the boxes to do it really well. Full credit for nailing it Alan! 😀

When it came to shooting and working creatively, we got through a whole range of things! Different cute looks in a more simple portrait/glamour style, to even giving bodyscapes and artistic nude a go (not a style Alan does very often as he told me, but we chatted about it and gave it a whirl!) He will ALWAYS work within the models level and comfort zones, and even though nude is a style I do a lot of - he still talked it through with me and I felt he thought it was important to check that the model is happy with each style attempted during his shoots. He definitely knows what he likes in an image and comes up with cool suggestions to change up the scene/add a simple little prop or bit of furniture (or something) which just gives you a different dimension of working and way to throw your poses. All-in-all, very easy going and nice to work with. ✔😊 He appreciates what models bring to the table in their individual looks and posing abilities too which makes the whole process more collaborative and team orientated... Needless to say - we achieved some lovely shots!

I think it was definitely one of those shoots where you blink and the times gone! We did a considerable amount of chin-wagging as we worked... 😂 That seems to come naturally to Alan once he's met a model and got into the swing of a shoot. Gosh we chatted about all sorts - we still managed to get plenty of shots in the bag though! Multi-tasking at it's best!

So given everything; I would happily recommend Alan to other models. I don't know where the time has vanished to since our shoot (well I do - but that's another story!) Alas - I am pleased to be able to sing his praises here. 🙌

Well, finally luck smiled upon us and we were able to organise a shoot!

Alan booked me for a 4 hour shoot in his home studio, his communications were good and within a few messages we had our shooy organised and I knew what styles Alan wanted to shoot.

His lovely wife very kindly picked me up from the station. Alan was instantly warm and friendly, chatty but professional in conduct.

The shoot itself was fun and productive, Alan allowed me to do my own thing, making suggestions - as good collaborations should be!

We shot a lot of different sets and I liked what I saw on the back of the camera.

Look forward to the next one!

I shot with Alan yesterday for the first time.

Pre comms were great, he really thinks of every detail and is very prompt with his replies.

He is very chatty which added to a great experience, he had a lot of amusing and interesting things to say.

The feel of the shoot was relaxed and flowed effortlessly, time really flew by.

I had a thoroughly lovely time and can’t wait to plan another shoot, I will try my hardest to find another After Eights anecdote for then!

I would highly recommend Alan to any model planning to work with him :)

He is a very talented photographer, and this talent lies as much in making a shoot fly by with engaging conversation and interesting stories as taking beautiful photos. By far one of my most interesting shoots to date, the time really just flew by. I felt completely at ease too which is very important. Looking forward to hopefully meeting and shooting again one day and I love the results that I have seen from this time.

Wow what can I say. DrAc is absolutely fantastic. I just don’t have enough words to say how great the shoot was. Fantastic, kind, caring gentle. I loved the shoot and I loved the stories we got to share with each other. Feels like Iv known him for years. I would recommend him to everyone and you will kick your self if you miss out on a shoot. I had my first shoot with Alan and what a great shoot it was. He's a very polite and professional gentleman. His pre and post shoot communication was excellent.

I was picked up from the station by his lovely wife Sue. The shoot itself felt more like catching up with a friend as Alan made me feel very comfortable and we had the most interesting conversations,We also produced some outstanding images.we got so into the shoot it almost resulted in me missing my train, but we made it in time thanks to Sue's amazing driving skills.

Working with Alan was a delight and I hope to work with him again in the future!

Had a lovely shoot today with DrAC, everything was so laid back also him and his wife are so generous to meet so I would definitely give him top marks and wish I wasn't too tired to go longer with the shoot... I would be happy to work with DrAC again in future :)

I had a great first shoot with DrAC, one we'd been planning for a while - and it was well worth the planning! Pre communications were the best I've had so far out of any photographer I've worked with, he was very thorough and in depth with a great plan on what we both wanted from the photoshoot. DrAC was even helpful to supply train routes and the best method of getting to his studio, as well as providing pickup straight from the station. DrAC gave me full creative input in poses, outfits, and makeup, giving his own ideas but making sure I was comfortable the entire process from start to finish - pre-comms included. I've already had a look at some of the photos - they look great, and I can't wait to see the others. Time passed quickly throughout the shoot, DrAC is a great conversationalist and allowed a break and rest not only between photos but halfway through the day as well.

I highly recommend DrAC and would be honoured to work with him again. I'd recommend any and all models, experienced or new to book him for their next shoot.

Had my first shoot with this wonderful gentleman today. Pre comms were excellent, I was given concise details of what style he wanted to shoot and the exact location of how to get there. This enabled me to arrive fully prepared. On top of getting some great images the conversation was free flowing and very interesting and Alan totally put me at ease as he was very respectful and great to get along with. I also met his lovely wife Sue.

I highly recommend Alan, he's an absolute gent to work with.

It was an absolute pleasure to meet and work with Alan for the first time.

He and his lovely wife came to Liverpool for a week; so finally, we had a chance to manage a shoot because we had some communication before this to work together but it didn't happen because of our distance.

Alan and his wife were very nice and welcomed me. Pre-shoot communication was very good and clear.

We have different styles but we agreed to combine both styles and favourites to create acceptable images for both of us.

Alan is a gentleman, polite and respectable person and I enjoyed discussing with him during the shoot about photography, culture, etc.

I hope we could have a chance to work together again in the future and highly recommend him to work with.

I've been terribly remiss and am very tardy in leaving a reference for Alan following our shoot last year.

We had chatted about the possibility of a shoot for a while and finally made it happen. It was my first venture south of the border since the beginning of the pandemic. On the day itself, there was chaos on the rail network and it was a fairly stressful journey from Edinburgh to Middlesbrough, but I was determined that I would get there!

Alan and his wife were friendly and welcoming, and the shoot was very enjoyable. We chatted lots, tried out a few different outfits/looks, I was fed and watered, and ended up having a great day in spite of the difficulties with the trains.

I would recommend Alan to other models and hope to work with him again :)

This was my first shoot with Alan and it was a long time in the works! We were chatting before the pandemic struck and then had to wait ages before being able to arrange anything. We discussed ideas in some detail and I was directed to his various albums to get a good indication of the kind of results he was after achieving. Pre-comms were regular and told me all I needed to know, we got a lot done in 4 hours with several outfit changes focusing on sheer and lingerie. Inbetween sets we discussed his trips abroad, I was especially fascinated by his trips to Japan as its my dream destination! Alan was also very respectful and made me feel totally at ease, hope to work with him again one day in the future.
