I've worked with darren a hand full of times now, the last time was at my erotic studio day held by him at his studio. The communation before hand to organise it was brillient, he made sure i understand everything thats happening at studio day, checking in and letting me know updates as the day got closer. He even came up with the idea's to shoot on that day. I just needed to bring myself and my clothes, he's full of great idea's so i'm not surprised.

The studio is ace to work in so versatile and has banging lighting throughout the day, endless props and funky things to shoot with at t he castle.

Well I had my first shoot at Darklens Studio today with Darren and the house model Leanne. It was an awesome day and I learnt so much, I doubt if I will remember half of it (that's an age thing). A very relaxed atmosphere in the studio, pity it rained as Darren wanted to instruct me in the use of lighting on location too, not that he could have fit anything else into the day. Highly recommend the Darklens Studio, Darren and Leanne it was an absolute pleasure working with them an experience I can't wait to repeat.

I had the pleasure of learning from the zany, creative and inspirational Darren, at his studio, photographing the fabulous model, Jezebelle.

It was an amazing relaxed and productive day. Darren lives and breathes photography 24/7 and has so much knowledge and creativity which he eagerly shares with novices like myself.

I paid my first visit to Dark Lens yesterday as part of a group shoot with the wonderful Jezebelle. The studio offers a wide range of photographic opportunities and our host Darren was welcoming, hugely enthusiastic, extremely creative, innovative in his approach to photography and very helpful. Highly recommended.

Had a group shoot today at Dark Lens. As usual our shoot was well organised, timed and we had a great time shooting the model.

Facilities are great, as is the expertise and tuition given by Darren.

I had my first shoot with Darren & the guys at Darklens, it will not be my last. After a nervous start Darren and everyone on the group shoot assisted myself and made me feel most welcome. Darren has an abundance of creativity and the lighting, rooms, props, facilities were excellent, the group shoot was with Tanya Atherton and I'm already booked for two more up and coming shoots. I cannot recommend Darklens highly enough whether you are a beginner or seasoned photographer you will get your creative juices going here and with the settings create very cool images. Looking forward to returning.

First time at DarkLens Studios, a hastily arranged session with Marie-Jean Taylor (arranged at 10am, shoot began at 2pm 😊).

Daz was great from initial communication to supplying plentiful cups of tea during the shoot.

The studio is like the Tardis…situated within a distinctive building with loads of character. Well equipped with everything from a white wall environment to bedroom, bathroom, living room, and garden/outdoor area.

Plenty of unusual props and furniture to play with and create some great sets.

DarkLens is highly recommended by me and I hope to shoot there again soon :-)

I have had the pleasure of working with Dark Lens twice now, most recently at their amazing new premises for a Halloween photography event Darren was running , in which I was invited to model at.

The studio home was instantly impressive on entrance, being deceptively large and grand inside and with beautiful decor throughout ! Each part of the building was photogenic and versatile! More so, had more than adequate space for the large number of photographers and other models to work in simultaneously. Perfect for a group event, with a lot less waiting around!

Aside from the studio, Darren is a creative, friendly, enthusiastic and hospitable host. Regularly checking in with the models to ensure all was well !

Dark Lens's Click Club is definitely impressive and unlike any group events I have attended before. Not only with fantastic results but a great atmosphere! Darren Key is undoubtably running a creative hub & encouraging the growth of the photographic community within the west midlands.

I cannot wait to return again in January ! Thank you very much for having me !

I've worked with Daz for years, and have recently modelled at the new premesis a couple of times. A great place to shoot!

Very large rooms, with great light, you can do all sorts from a typical studio/white wall environment to bedroom, bathroom, living room, and huge garden/outdoor area.

Daz is an amazing creative genius and all round good egg,if it wasnt for Daz i would have given up on photography years ago,his enthusiasm and personalty are contagious . Have been here on numerous occasions before and the studio Daz is always there to help with great concepts and lighting tips. the studio itself has a lot of space and those little details that help with getting a great shot. Daz always is a great help and encourages photographers to try something new. The whole environment is great for getting that important raport with a model .

Booked a model here for a 121 session as the studio really is fantastic.

As per usual Darren Key was on hand with lighting direction and even threw together some groovy ideas for us to use in the shoot which all worked really well. Even after all that he and Charlie Barr assisted in holding up some material I had the model posing on to make it look really boudoir style with a nice throw and matching curtains.

The studio is everything you need and more plenty of space, loads of natural light and a nice sized garden to shoot in also and to top it all off from my experience Darren will go above and beyond to make sure you get the shots you are aiming to get.

I've done a number of shoots at Darklens studios now (both the original and the new studio) with Darren, which in itself says 'recommended'. Darren is always welcoming, friendly and puts a lot of effort into the shoots he arranges - which is no mean feat given the number of events he sets up for photographers of all levels. Knowledgeable and creative, Darren is always on hand to help and provide advice if required without being overbearing. The latest Darklens studio offers the genuine 'home' sets that fit in with my current desire for realistic settings for my model shoots. Recommended.
