I had the privilage of working af Basford hurst cottage again last weekend , Absolutely love working there . There is so many opportunities to get amazing shots and all very different . Leanne greeted me at the door with a warm welcome as usual , shes very chatty and dead easy to talk to , Leanne is a great host and exceptional model to boot. if you are after a studio with character and charm then Basford is the place to be .

Great day shooting yet again the time flew by . Thankyou Leanne for a great time ,see you soon .

i had my first shoot here [ and not my last may i add ]. Communication with the studio before the shoot was excellent ,This place is a jewel in the crown ,excellent for all types of your photography needs ,weather it be Natural light or studio lighting i did a 4 hour shoot , and ony touched the tip of the iceberg here. Each room is magnificent in its own special way,its a photographers dream .

Thankyou Leanne and Simon who were excellent hosts and bend over backwards to help you with any needs you may have . I look forward to a return. many thanks michael.

I had the wonderful opportunity to work at basford hurst cottage with a couple of amazing models and togs for the first time and hope to venture back MANY MANY MANY more times.

Leanne is a beautiful human on the inside and out, not only is she a wonderful host with a truly exceptional space - she is an amazing model who I had the pleasure of shooting a set with!

Simon her partner is a brilliant man, lots of laughs, cool stories and just a general amazing atmosphere throughout the entire day with lots of coffee!

My first solo studio day at Basford Hurst Cottage (and definitely not my last!)

Welcomed by the gorgeously kind Leanne, who made me feel right at home as soon as I arrived. A tour of the impressive building and grounds got me super excited to create some magic during my day here!

I don't think it would be possible to run out of ideas at Basford; every corner, stair and even door boasts personality and fills you with creativity..

Looking forward to coming back already! Definitely recommended by me.

Had the opportunity to shoot one of my favourite models in a new location and wasn't disappointed. Basford Hurst Cottage is a stunning location with unique features, after a thorough tour by Leanne and with the time I had we decided to utilise the features on the ground floor, but I will explore the stunning features on the first floor at my next visit. The Cottage has extensive gardens although didn't have the time to explore and a threat of rain kept us indoors.

Basford Hurst Cottage comes highly recommended and shall be returning hopefully during the summer!!

As with other commenters on this for reference I am at a loss as to how to explain how superb, wonderful, fantastic, outstanding, sublime, stimulating this place is to work in, all the rooms give a massive amount of picture taking opportunities, the hosts Leanne and Simon (Thanks for the tea) are excellent and look after you from the moment you enter the building, it's like being at home when working there. My shoot today was with a model doing a day of shooting and to be honest the results we obtained on the shoot were brilliant. The studio has wonderful natural lighting, a wealth of rooms and locations to shoot in and also has studio lights, reflectors/modifiers to meet everyone's needs. The place is a true gem, and I shall be returning again and again over the coming months, a photographer's dream come true to work in. Very, VERY highly RECOMMENDED to both models and photographers.

It will be tricky to add any more to the great references below but I'll try.

Basford is simply an awesome place to shoot and it's run by two of the nicest people I have met in years. Leanne and Simon made us feel very welcome and could not have been better hosts. Bribery by chocolate always works ;-)

I shot there for a half day on the May 4th and a full day on the 5th May but there are still so many more possibilities that this incredible venue has to offer. It really has everything; from statement rooms and furniture, an opulent bathroom, two great staircases, well appointed bedrooms, a distressed stair well, urbex style outbuildings and large grounds with a bridge, stream, woods and big rocks... what else do you need?

Leanne's pre-shoot comms was excellent providing details on how to find the place and even where to stay and eat locally.

All in all, it's probably the best run and most rewarding place out there that I know of for photography. It's just a shame it's a 2 1/2 hour drive for me. It's well worth travelling to though and I will definitely be going back :-)

Crikey, where do I start? I'd been planning my shoot at Basford since before it opened and been looking forward to it for just as long. Over the last two days... I finally got there and what a place. I shot with both Leanne (Miss C) and Nicole Rayner - Getting some epic images from both.

Leanne and Simon are absolutely brilliant hosts. Very relaxed, helpful and engaging. The pre shoot comms by Leanne were absolutely brilliant. The initial contact with her was actually made by another photographer when we started planning the trip. Leanne took the time to ask for the details of the other photographers (three of us in total) and actively engaged with every single one of us ahead of the day.

No matter how hard I think, I can't come up with a single bad thing to say. It's honestly one of the nicest, most welcoming and varied environments I've ever shot at. Thank you so much Leanne and Simon for being such awesome hosts. I'll definitely be coming back.

All the positive references they have are so well deserved, it is a fantastic studio, ran by 2 of the friendliest people.

Simply put, you MUST go and shoot there. There are so many awesome locations within the house and grounds that I could have shot there for another day and a half and still had more ideas to shoot.

As hosts Leanne and Simon were brilliant. Friendly and welcoming, helpful without being obtrusive and Greta to have a laugh and joke with. Leanne even stepped in to model when I needed an extra model for an idea I had.

It is a 3.5 hour drive from me and I would more than happily do that to shoot there again

I wasn't intending to do a second reference so soon after my first shoot but just wanted to say second shoot, found lots of different ideas, viewpoints for different images and still left with more to do. Such a massive scope for variety at Basford Hurst. Will be booking trip No 3 soon.

My first shoot at this fab location. It ts a photographers Paradice . We were made very welcome and given a tour of the cottage.The owners were very helpful, but not intrusive. Highly recommended

What a wonderful new studio! Shot at Basford Hurst Cottage Studio to day for the first time - for what I imagine will end being the first of many times. Leanne and Simon are superb hosts and looked after us very well but without being in any way intrusive. Was welcomed with enthusiasm and a great cup of coffee, and shown around the cottage, and left to get on with the shoot, with the open invitation to call on them if assistance was required.

The shoot spaces inside the cottage are wonderful, with a host of original features and many modern features executed sympathetically to the design. Thoroughly enjoyed my shoot with Cariad Celis today and will definitely be back, highest possible recommendation from me!

First time. Best time. Definitely not the last time!

From the really easy (and genuinely laugh out loud) comms, to the warmest welcome, the superb facilities and the crunchiest crisps . . . this gem in the Peak District is a thing to cherish.

A 2 hour introductory booking elongated into a more suitable 4 hour yomp around this fabulous facility (inside and out).

Still NO WAY near enough. Already booked my return, for a full day this time.

And that still won't be enough.

HIGHLY recommended for the architecture, styling and facilities, as much as for Leanne and Simon's delightful hosting xxx.

Never shot at Basford before, in fact, only stumbled across it as they were hosting a model day for a model I was desperate to work with.

Pre-coms with Leanne were warm, friendly, and very organised. Greeted and given a guided tour of her amazing venue, a model herself Leanne had a great eye for what works and made every area full of possibilities.

This as I said was my first time at Basford but it certainly won't be my last. Already thinking of ideas for my next visit. Thank you, Leanne and Si

I had the most fantastic day shooting from this stunning photographic location. Basford hurst was a dream to shoot from !

So many good natural light sources and stunning backdrops! The place is beautifully decorated and minimalistic which makes it ideal for shoot.

The changing room area is private and very comfortable with everything a model needs and snacks too ☺️

Leanne was fantastic, pre comms and hospitality was A class!

Very highly recommended and can’t wait to return

What an amazing place! I have now shot there twice, but don't think I've even begun to scratch the surface of all the possibilities this wonderful venue has to offer.

Inside there is so much variety, ranging for the old style iron spiral staircase, fireplaces and lovely timbered floor to two more modern bedrooms and a gorgeous roll top bath all bathed in beautiful natural light from the big windows. Every time you turn around you spot something new.

Due to weather constraints, I have only ventured outside once, but there are already many possibilities contained in the 3 acres of private woodland and I believe there are plans to improve this still further in the near future.

If that isn't enough, Leanne and Simon are the prefect hosts! Always there if needed but happy to leave you to it if not. And, very importantly, always ready with the kettle and for a chat!!

In case you couldn't guess from the above I can't recommend this place highly enough and can't wait for my next visit :)

I had my first shoot at Basford yesterday with Ivory Flame.

I was made very welcome by Leanne and Simon and they were inconspicuous but totally available when required.

The light was quite wonderful and we got some really interesting images which I will enjoy playing with.

It was a foul day so I only got outside briefly, to shoot through a window. There are obviously lots of outdoor possibilities - weather allowing.

I can recommend the studio to all models and photographers without hesitation.

Ive just had my first shoot at Basford Hurst Cottage and wow what an amazing space and location there are so many areas to shoot from gorgeous wooden flood rooms, bedrooms bathroom and a wonderful undecorated and rough and ready stair way

Leanne and Simon are fantastic hosts warm friendly welcoming and really helpful.

I am really looking forward to returning later in the year to shoot again and hopefully so some sots outside. Thanks leanne and Simon for a fantastic shoot.

First time and shooting at Basford and Wow !

Leanne and Simon were great hosts, friendly and helpful. So much potential here for both indoor and outdoor work. Its a great location with lots of different rooms and shoot spaces. Only just having my first look at images from today but really pleased with what we have and will certainly be back. Thanks.
