Alternative, Fashion, Nude and Portrait
Coronavirus update - I plan to honour all workshop and tuition commitments within Government guidelines: and I understand completely if others need to withdraw for the sake of their own or relatives' health. If reduced numbers mean that it is uneconomic for me to hold an event, I will discuss options with those involved.
oI’ve been taking pictures for most of my life, and have enjoyed almost every minute.
As an amateur photographer, I’ve built up a large portfolio of model pictures, and had some decent references.
So now I’m properly retired, I’m looking to capitalise on this by sharing what I know.
My areas of expertise are as follows:
Available light – I know how to make use of what nature (or even a candle) provides, and understand the camerawork and equipment needed to exploit most situations.
Studio lighting - including high key and low key images.
Working with models – I have achieved a good working relationship with the models I have photographed, and I have analysed why. There are some simple rules – and maybe one or two less-obvious keys to a good rapport with the person you are pointing your camera at.
Film – I still do a small amount of work in the darkroom, using traditional materials and techniques, and I love it. So if you want to dip your toe in the developer and fixer, I can provide camera, film and my (small) darkroom.
My aim is to provide a personalised service: tell me what you need, and I will design a session for you. I will also provide summary notes of the areas we cover. Similarly, my rates will be geared to your pocket, as far as I can manage it!
I've been on Purpleport for several years as a photographer: just look for me as John Duder.
