I had the pleasure of working with Alan and Alison for the second time at Maps studio alongside the gorgeous Cariad. Alan is professional and respectful, we only have a brief shoot but it was certainly chock full of surprises and creativity. I thoroughly enjoy working with them both and think they both bring something different to the shoot.

I was amazed by the ideas and execution of the last shoot I can't wait to see the results of this one!

Alan and Alison came along to my studio day at MAP studio recently. They both turned up on time amd organized with lots of outfits and accessories to use to create something really cool. Alan give me a detailed brief of what kind of look he wanted to achieve and told me to just do what I feel would work. We where trying to capture and abandined sort of look in a run down looking room. I loved the concept instantly and loved being able to do something I don’t usually get to do. He offered plenty breaks and always made sure I was happy. I love the image I was showed after the shoot and I’m grateful to have worked with such a talented couple. Thanks again guys

I felt so happy when Alan asked to shoot for the last part of my studio day at MAP. He is a truly creative, experimental, inspiring, patience person with a lot of artistic flair. His exquisite lighting techniques make the images ping out and having seen some of the images on the back of the camera, I can honestly say they are admiringly wonderful! He gave direction throughout, and we experimented with a few different shapes, emotions and ideas to create the best image possible. It was almost as if we ran out of time....sooo thank you Alan and I look forward to the next....

I feel really lucky to have had the opportunity to work with the truly inspiring and creative Alan, I had seen his portfolio before and was in ore of his work, So to hear Alan and his partner Alison had booked in on mine and Silks studio day at Map was wonderful news to my ears.

Alan came prepared with lots of ideas and references from previous shoots and we honestly couldn't wait to get started! For a four hour shoot the time flew by. We were sad to have finished as we could have easily carried on for another four hours!

Alan was courteous, polite and friendly throughout with ideas bouncing out like no tomorrow. Each and every shot was set up with care and attention to lighting and composition, you can see from his portfolio he likes to push boundaries and create stories within his images. It was refreshing to work as a duo with a guide of ideas and a story to evoke together.

Alan and Alison really are the DREAM TEAM!

I had the absolute pleasure of meeting and working with Alan for the first time on Saturday at mine and Cariad’s studio day at Map Studio.

I knew to expect something creative after looking through his portfolio but I didn’t know to expect just how brilliant Alan and Alison are as a team!

We had 4 hours together and the just absolutely flew by, Alan is an absolute gentleman, very easy to get on with and considers the models comfort as a priority.

We did a couple of different themes within the time we had, I wish we had more time as I could’ve carried on all evening ;) I absolutely loved the images I kept seeing on the back of camera, so excited to see the final results!

Thank you so much for a great shoot, hopefully I will get to shoot with you again in the not too distant future.

Highly recommended by me to all models and creatives.

Friendly, easy to talk to and respectful, he is a real gent and a real artist too. Loved hearing about his inspirations and ideas and I had a lot of appreciation for how much detail and care he puts into his work. A good photographer to work with - regular breaks & making sure I'm comfortable at all times.

I met Alan and Alison ....months ago on a location share at Pipewell Hall! Alan showed me some of his work and since then I've been hoping he'd book me! The day finally came and boy was it worth the wait!!!

I had 4 hours with Alan at Map studio today! Probably one of my favourite shoots of the year!!

Alison was assisting throughout the shoot, which was great, I have left her a reference on he profile ....and I highly recommend going to look at her page too!

Alan himself is a real gentleman, though having met him I knew he would be! What I didn't expect however, and of course was wonderfully surprised at, was the huge amount of fun we'd have! I love my job and normally enjoy shoots, though this was a new level! As Alan said, 'It's time to play' - which it really was! Wonderful outfits - very out there! Great themes - wonderful props and I really really enjoyed pushing myself to try and create what was in Alan's head! I'm not sure I did that but I sure we got some awesome shots!!

Alan is a wonderful creator of light! He created some wonderful set ups! Contrasty yet flattering!! He clearly knows what he's doing - he set up the lights so quickly and there was no messing about!

Alan really works for the shot! He is constantly trying to get the best angles and most interesting shots and I loved his compositions!!

What was also really kind was how accommodating Alan was! I asked him if he could arrive to the shoot early so I could get the early train and he was kind enough to do so! However, on the Day of the shoot I found out that the train I was hoping to get was cancelled, so Alan finished 15minuets early so I was able to get the even earlier train! I so appreciated that as otherwise I would have had to wait at the train station for almost 2 hours and I would of been getting home very late!

Alan is more than a photographer. He's an artist. And I am very proud to now be part of his work!!

Alan comes highly recommended by me!!

Alan knows how to get the model to pose well. One of the best photographers when it comes to getting perfect lighting.

Artemis Fauna

I got to work with Alan again a couple of weeks ago on my studio day at Map- can't believe it was over a year ? since we last shot! Mad how time flies.

It was 80% Alison's shoot but for the last hour or so Alan and I shot through some of his ideas and themes. I got to dress up a bit and once again, the afternoon flew by and loads more super images were created.

I really hope I can work with Alan again in 2018! Thank you very much :)

I got to work with this absolutely epic photographer at Map Studios with Lottii Rose recently - Alan has the most amazing of ideas, helped by his glamourous wife with scene setting, creativity flowing ever so beautifully that looked incredible on the back of the camera ♥

He has such a fabulous way with his camera, setting up lights in the most perfect of ways and I cannot recommend this wonderful human to all - thank you so much Alan & Alison, you rock :)

Another FANTASTIC photoshoot with Alan and assisted by his lovely wife Alison. They are both such lovely people, took care of me and made sure I was well supplied with food and tea, and after discussing the very exciting ideas Alan let me disappear off to the changing room and play with make-up! :P We were all so happy to bounce ideas off each other and the shots we got looked amazing.

I cannot recommend Alan (or Alison) any more highly and look forward to working together again. :)

His knowledge about lighting is envious and once he starts on an idea there is no stopping! Another lovely shoot with Alan :D

This time we had a themed shoot in mind which unfortunately couldn't go ahead due to issues with our original location, but Alan adapted to the whole situation really well. He didn't let the booking down which was really kind of him and he could of backed out with it not being him cancelling, but instead he came up with a new idea for us to shoot at his home :)

The whole shoot, despite lousy weather, was so much fun and it was great to be part of such a detailed theme. We spent the whole 4 hours working on the specific idea he had and I really hope he got what he was after as it was a real pleasure working on it with him :D

So this was my second shoot with Alan and his Fabulous wife Alison assisting!

My first shoot with them was absolutely amazing, and the second time was even better!

It's amazing to work with people that you get on with on both a professional and friendly level!

They were great, throwing out ideas, working together as stylist and photographer, and ultimately creating absolutely fantastic images!

It was a great energy to be around and it allowed me to feel extremely comfortable and happy!

What a FANTASTIC day! Alan booked me for a shoot at a beautiful location in Northampton- with his lovely wife assisting. Right from the start, we got on like a house on fire and were brainstorming ideas throughout the day, powered by tea! :D They made sure I was well fed, warm and comfortable at all times, which I really appreciated and the pictures in the camera looked beautiful. I hope to work together again and would recommend 100% :)

I had another fantastic fun shoot with Alan at my pre-Raphaelite event at the Natural Light Spaces last weekend. He's a lovely person and very creative, getting the absolute best out of the sets I had made and the available light. He brought along some prints from our last shoot to show me, which I much appreciated and the images I saw in the back of the camera looked great.
