I am also a life model & think it would be good to have that category on our ports. It’s a totally different skill to posing for photographers & I'm sure it’s something that not all nude models would necessarily want to do.

I'd love to add this!
I've done life modelling before YEARS ago, and it's not just the 'nude' aspect that's the consideration, but it's just a different style of posing all together. For example; this was a pin up/Burlesque themed day and your arms do go dead when holding up Isis wings/fans for 10 minutes at a time. Some people may not find this fits with their style of shooting and/or they're not interested, but at the moment for those searching for life models they have to specifically ask if that's something they'd do before talking specifics.
I'm posing (hopefully!) for a class in october and I imagine other classes will start up again soon if everything stays on track so there might be a lot of people looking and this would help :)
Thank you, skycladpixie and Terra Flare its good to see so many models posting on this subject and agreeing with this aspect of it being a different skill. Currently its necessary to trawl through models' profiles to see if life modelling is something they mention in their text, which is time consuming and not always practical.
Just to follow up on the point made by Terra Flare about specifically asking models if they do life modelling, as I understand it PP rules forbid asking models for styles not listed on their profiles so strictly speaking asking about life modelling wouldn't be allowed (although presumably if a model has listed nude among her styles the offending photographer/artist asking wouldn't be thrown off PP?).

Just bumping this up the page as it's now 7 months since first suggested and no indication of progress despite being considered for implementation.
Any update available from PP management please? The responses on this thread would indicate this addition would be welcomed.

It was added to our list of things to do back in February 2020 :)
We have quite a number of other issues which are a higher priority to work through first before we can look at adding this as a shoot style.
Also, the Covid-19 situation and the 'lockdown', and some recent site issues (some of which were very significant), have slowed the progress on this somewhat too. But I can assure you all that it is on our list, and we will get to it at some point.

That's good to hear Laura.
I joined PP under the description of "Artist/Painter" and was quite surprised to find their wasn't an equivalent model category (i.e. for non-photographic modelling). I'll look forward to this amendment as without it I find the search function very limited for my own search criteria.

My calendar tells me it is now exactly a year since I first raised this suggestion so I thought it worth bumping it up the page. I know it's not considered a high priority by PP but has received a lot of support from members and once lockdown is over it would be very useful to have this in place.

If the matter has been passed to the PP Development Team, perhaps he's on holiday.

It would be great to know who is up for life drawing rather than having to ask all the time. It is such a different discipline to photo modelling it isn't for all models.

We had a number of higher priority issues that needed to be addressed before we could look at this one.
However, our Development Team started working on it this week, and all being well it should go live sometime soon :)

{updates article at https://purpleport.com/articles/965/life-class-drawing-modelling }
Thinks: the categories of work are a single list used for all varieties of account, studio, model, photographer, artist, of course?
Because apart from the informational engineering of such things, models will wish to search artists etc wanting to do that sort of thing, and places in which to do it.

Yea, success! PP developers have just added Life Drawing as a model option. Thank you PP.
Defined as:
Life Drawing
Drawing the human form, usually with the model holding different poses for periods of time. The model could be required to be nude, so it's always worth double-checking what level these shoots may involve.
