Another one from the archives. When I first got into model photography back in 2003, I had no idea of what to do or how to get any models. I put an advert in the local free ads Friday newspaper to see if anyone was interested. Sian replied. I met her on a sunny Saturday lunchtime just outside of Bedford for a pre shoot meet and general chat. We were both nervous as I had never done a model shoot and she had never been in front of a camera before. The idea was to do a shoot the following week provided that we were both comfortable. After a beer and an hour she just said, why not do it now ! We found an open field a mile from the pub and this was one of the results. The light was harsh, the picture quality was bad, and neither of us had any idea of poses. so I just took random pictures of "the girl next door". I distinctly remember sending this one to the dustbin for 2 reasons. Firstly she was wearing a wedding ring, although she was not married, she wore it to fend off unwanted attention from men, but I did not want it. Secondly at the time of taking the photo, I had never noticed my green Vauxhall Astra on the road in the background, which I stupidly thought spoiled the whole image. She will be 45 years old now. Fond memory.
