I think this was the third time I had been to Tank Space and they keep adding extra touches. The new lights controlled via an app on their phone are very effective and flexible. I am sure I will be back again!

I had the pleasure of shooting at Tank Space Studios for a studio day with three models.

I had a fantastic shoot its a unique studio and with the model's experience and confidence under the water we were able to create some amazing images.

I had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I can highly recommend going to Tank Space if you get the chance.

What an awesome studio! I mean... it's not every day you're going to want to do an underwater shoot, but if you are... look no further!

The studio itself is massive, so great for accommodating group shoots - which is what I was on, along with 2 other photographers, 3 models, and a chaperone. On the day we had the utterly wonderful Jess Buckland looking after us, and she set everything up, gave us togs guidance on what settings to use as it's fixed lighting as opposed to flash. Once she'd sorted us out, she helped the models get comfortable and gave them the confidence to pose in this 'alien' environment.

Everyone came away from the shoot having thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and I'm sure many of us will return there in the future.

A Shot in the Dark

Wow, just wow what can I say?? Honestly, I can't sing the Tankspace praises enough!!

All our questions were answered before the day really well and it made everyone (we were all totally new!) feel so much more comfortable!

On the day we were made to feel SO welcome by Jess, who is just the loveliest person ever and couldn't do enough to help.

Jess was super knowledgeable about everything involved and helped every model get comfortable in the water and gave such amazing advice every dive for the models. She also had loads of ideas for poses too for the models and was just so supportive to everyone. Jess really made our experience what it was and helped us so much to get great shots and we can't thank her enough, everyone sang her praises all day.

The space itself is fantastic, plenty of space and really well set up, everyone's comfort is clearly top priority!

I can't recommend booking Tankspace enough and we're already looking at dates to come back!

With members of my family, I had a great underwater shoot at Tankspace recently. None of us had done anything like it before so we valued the guidance offered by the team.

The studio recommended two models, Halo and Lewis, who worked really well together. Prior to the day, I had provided an idea of what we hoped to achieve and Halo and Lewis then worked together to source costumes and plan mini themes, all of which were just right. On the day, they agreed the detail of any joint dives.

Jess hosted the shoot and was most attentive to our needs as well as sourcing props for the models. In summary, everyone was highly professional and well organised with the result that we really enjoyed ourselves and were able to create some stunning images

This place / studio has only recently come to my attention through recommendations from other photographers. It immediately went on my bucket list. Near enough a 200 mile round trip for me & due to health issues I do not drive that far these day, but I got to hear about a day being organised there by Lorraine Hinks including transport. What a brilliant afternoon. Not sure what I expected. Thought the tank would be much bigger but once you think about that it would just not work as you would get much more distortion through more water. The shoot was extremely well organised. There were 4 of us photographing 2 models over 2 hours. Each model takes a turn with 20 minutes in the water each then recovery time while the other one takes over. This works very well. Depending on your camera you may have to use manual focus, but my camera managed to cope very well. no flash is used & I recommend you use auto ISO but you are given pointers on all this before you start. There are 4 seats infront of the tank & you rotate on these every 5 minutes so no one hogs the so called best middle seats. Again very well organised. A very highly recommend every photographer should try this. I am definitely hooked & I will be back. Thank you to all concerned.

Been on my bucket list for some time now.

But unfortunately with all that has been going on the shoot unfortunately kept getting put back.

But got my self booked on one with time line events.

Fantastic shoot well worth the wait.

Three models on the day take my hat off to them.

All where brilliant, dresses, wings and different colour fabrics. Which made it amazing.

The staff and the models were really lovely.

Lovey welcome, came for a chat in the car park before we started.

Got so many great images to many to choose from.

If you are thinking of going and getting some fantastic images of something different. Then just book it you will not be disappointed.

Try to book a model who has done it before as you will get more time and probably better images.

As it is something you need to practice first.

Don't worry about what settings due to the staff are so helpful.

Last year I had the opportunity to join in on a remote taster session at Tankspace during The Photography Show Online and I found the experience to be a truly worthwhile one. This is truly THE place for underwater photoshoots and their setup was excellent. I unfortunately haven't been able to join in on any of their remote shoots events since but I am due to be shooting here in person as part of a group shoot this coming summer and I can't wait for the experience.

This was my first experience of shooting at Tankspace, as a part of their Art Nude Studio Day event. The welcome I received on arrival set the mood for the shoot, hosts Kai and Elle are lovely people who care about their visitors getting the best experience, and from the moment I stepped into the building I was made to feel welcome and looked after.

The shoot itself was quite the experience! The three models for the event - Rachyy, Halo and Jess - were exceptional, their fluid posing styles were perfect for the event (pardon the pun!) The lighting gives a stylised look, and Kai and Elle are happy to make adjustments to match concepts. I'm looking forward to editing up the shots! Fully recommended!

Halo Haynes

I was lucky enough to be one of 3 models at Tankspace's first Art nude event and felt super safe and supported the whole time. Underwater modelling is very physically taxing but the team were there to make sure that we had everything we needed, helped us with tips beforehand to make sure we made the most of the space and the whole day ran smoothly. I hope to be back modelling there again in the future and if you haven't booked yet then what are you waiting for?

A unique facility which offers the opportunity to get some outstanding and unusual shots.

With half a dozen or so models time was always going to be a challenge but Kai kept things moving and waiting time was minimal. He was also on-hand to offer safety and posing advice to the models - most of whom were newcomers to this style of shooting.

The tank is well set-up with various lighting options to enable glare-free shooting (Photographers' tip: 50mm to 70mm is about right to capture the entire tank - slightly longer for close-ups). Good car parking and toilets on-site.

A long day since it involved a 6½ hour round trip, but definitely worth the effort.

Incredible first shoot at Tankspace! I was one of the 3 models at an event hosted by Brighteyed :)

As a newcomer to underwater modelling, I felt quite anxious about trying my hand at something which seems so difficult! Both Kai and Elle (the highly trained professionals assisting us on the day) instantly put my mind at ease and were incredibly helpful :) We had some great chats beforehand and Elle gave us a demonstration of different techniques we could use to prepare ourselves for going underwater (including safety briefings, breathing techniques and posing ideas). After watching this I no longer felt scared, only excitement :)! Kai or Elle were by my side at all times when it was my turn to shoot underwater. Apart from this being very reassuring, they were very helpful with giving extra tips and advice throughout and were also on hand to pass props in and out of the water. I would recommend Tankspace to anyone, especially if you are new to underwater modelling :)

Overall, my experience at Tankspace was utterly fantastic. I have definitely fallen in love with underwater movement and modelling :)

I very much hope to be back shooting here soon :) Tankspace mentioned a variety of events and projects which I could be involved in (from model days to TankGirls...). I look forward to discussing these opportunities more and coming back for more underwater time :)

First visit to Tankspace today…WOW!!! What a fantastic set up and facility. Kai and Elle were excellent hosts and always willing to give very helpful advice.

If you’re a model who wants to try an underwater shoot or a photographer looking for something special to add to your portfolio, get yourself there you won’t regret it! :-)

Wow what a fantastic setup totally unique. I was invited on a group event at Tankspace and all I can say is I’m so impressed. I achieved some great images with the help of the team.

Amazing set up and even gave us a little extra time as one of the models was delayed due to train problems. Couldn't ask for better hosts, super clean and covid aware.

Some amazing results, happy models and photographers so must have done it right.
