Well, what to say... This was my second shoot at tank space and again, I did not want to leave!

I absolutely adore working in the water and would quite gladly take up underwater modelling as a full time profession, given the chance... It is such a wonderful experience, which I would encourage anybody on either side of the camera to give a go.

The variety of lighting can create such unique images, your imagination as both model and photographer is really the only limit.

The team are ardent professionals and know exactly what to do to make your individual vision come to life and never, as a model, did I feel remotely unsafe in the water, with great instruction on hand from Halo and an ever watchful eye making sure that everything runs smoothly.

Cannot wait to visit again!

I shot at Tankspace on one of their art nude studio events, and had the pleasure of shooting with six models in a two hour window. Shoots at Tankspace are unique, and this is very much down to the hard work of the studio, hard work which continues throughout every shoot to make sure that things are running smoothly and efficiently. They are ready with advice on camera settings, and are happy to make any adjustments needed to give the photographers the shots that they are striving for. If you're looking for something different, in a unique studio staffed by considerate people, then this is the place for you!

A great venue and team at Tankspace for my first visit on a shoot that was organised by Ivory Flame at Tankspace with Ayla & Halo being the other models. This was a first for me and the 3 other people in the group, and what a great event this was and I thoroughly enjoyed the day and the effort all the models put into it. I've had the pleasure of working at the fabulous Tankspace a number of times over recent months, including two small group events I put together there this January which went brilliantly, as well as other 1:1/group bookings.

It really is such an UNDERWATER WONDERLAND!

I adore how many lighting options there are, from adding shimmering illuminated sun rays through the water, to colour changing side-lighting, striking sci-fi effects and more dramatic cinematic mystery - the visuals you can create with the play of light across the models, materials, costumes, props are enthralling!

Kai and Elle have both been so helpful, in answering my questions in preparation for the days I organised, and allowing everyone involved to make the best from our time there, with knowledgeable suggestions and such friendly professionalism.

I can't wait to book more dates there very soon for more creative playtime :-D

Certainly no ordinary studio, but blimey what a fantastic setup! Group photoshoot with Jade and Danica, never done anything like this before but loved it. Great setup for both models and photographers, and the results were spectacular. Thoroughly recommend this water photography malarkey, will have to try the rain set next!

WHAT AN EXCELLENT PLACE!

Today was my first shoot at the Tankspace and I'm so beyond happy with how everything went. I received so much help and support from Kai I'm truly thankful for all the tips!

The facilities are super professional and there is everything to make sure you're comfortable, especially from a model's point of view. There is a warm changing room, a hair dryer, buckets (to drain your clothes in) and just lots of little details that make this space so top notch.

I highly recommend Tankspace if you're lucky enough to visit! Hopefully I can be back again soon, thank you so much for having me!

OMG, OMG, OMG! My first visit to Tankspace, and it was quite literally every dose of fabulousness that I have heard about. 🤩

I modelled for a group of photographers who privately booked and organised their day, hiring a few models to alternate being in the tank with a little bit of trio at the end. It worked very well because the photographers were able to discuss directly with the models what sort of things they wanted, we were left to the creative side ourselves to subsequently work directly and imaginatively with our photographers... Yet the team at Tankspace were there on-hand for help/support and completely on-it for maintaining a quality service. What they have here is evidently a unique and well-oiled setup that doesn't just offer "a big tank of water" but the customer service, the creative thought for lighting, the assistance and help for visiting models and so forth. You really can appreciate the full package. 😊

I have worked underwater a lot in my career... In the sea, in swimming pools, in the bath, in a hot tub - you name it! Some situations are kinder to you physically than others (the sea on your eyeballs is quite brutal whilst you get used to it, as is massive amounts of chorine!) But Tankspace have obviously cured their system to be highly efficient and user-friendly on this front. They heat the almighty tank to get the water to a nice temperature for the models, they also have very state-of-the-art facilities to keep the water clean and nice to work in. But probably the best and most notable feature of this venue is that it offers exquisite lighting provisions which actually enable the models to be properly lit. This is probably the biggest challenge I have noticed with modelling underwater, usually the only light you can get is from above without an advanced system in place... And lets face it, that's not particularly pretty lighting for angelic floating water sprites! But Tankspace have it off to a tee! Stunning and innovative lighting setups (including jazzy coloured LED strips!) for all your fashion and fantasy mermaid needs! This is what makes this place special, they have really thought out what photographers and models alike might need to create art. 😀

The building is enormous which means there is plenty of space for everything! The photographers get a terrific organised work area under a tent in front of the tank to prevent reflections on the glass and give everyone a fair chance to see the models. There is a generously sized changing area for the models which is big enough to accommodate several models coming in an out at regular intervals as they take it in turns. When I was here they were also building a massive rain set in the back of the building which I just HAVE to get back and see/model in! But it gives you an idea that the place is not short on space, so for organised groups etc. nobody is stepping on each others toes or anything like that. It also has ample parking right outside the door for several people to attend at once... Good to know because most people rock up with A LOT of outfits and gear! 😆

The team are just as professional as can be - they have everything covered safety-wise and tick all the boxes to make sure everyone is going to have a fun day creating, and that nobody is there to suffer. Part of the team/in house models were also on hand to jump in the water if some of the models needed a break (working underwater is very energy consuming!) Which meant that the photographers didn't have to come to a halt, but the models were able to take 5 just to get their strength back up. Very professional, very well-organised and very caring an atmosphere for sure. If you're a model who hasn't shot underwater much (or ever) then rest assured - if you really want to do it but are feeling nervous, there is support there as well. 🙂

I have had the best time shooting at TankSpace!

Kai was incredibly helpful with his instructions and tips. He was always around to support us with anything we needed and answer any questions.

It’s top noch service and I would definitely recommend shooting there because it’s an awesome experience for a model and the photos are a unique addition to everyone’s portfolio.

A Shot in the Dark

This was my second time at Tankspace so you know I must love it!

This time I came better armed with concepts of what to shoot, knowing you can put a bunch of stuff in the tank! So naturally, I did just that. The studio is just perfect, they've really thought of everything and you can tell it was all created on experience.

Kai was amazing to help us get exactly what we wanted, nothing was too much trouble and we gave him a round of applause at the end which he fully deserved!

I'm already thinking up concepts for next time!

If you're thinking about going, go, seriously you wont regret it.

The set-up is amazing! The deep tank is of course the main feature, but the lighting around it, the blacked-out shooting area, and the way the tank is dressed for a scene make it just a joy to shoot. And of course they know the best models who are experienced in exploiting the stage that's set for them and able to tell a story.

But then there's the rain set, which took me some time to get to grips with lighting, but I'm armed now and ready to return when I can.

I think this was the third time I had been to Tank Space and they keep adding extra touches. The new lights controlled via an app on their phone are very effective and flexible. I am sure I will be back again!

I had the pleasure of shooting at Tank Space Studios for a studio day with three models.

I had a fantastic shoot its a unique studio and with the model's experience and confidence under the water we were able to create some amazing images.

I had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I can highly recommend going to Tank Space if you get the chance.

What an awesome studio! I mean... it's not every day you're going to want to do an underwater shoot, but if you are... look no further!

The studio itself is massive, so great for accommodating group shoots - which is what I was on, along with 2 other photographers, 3 models, and a chaperone. On the day we had the utterly wonderful Jess Buckland looking after us, and she set everything up, gave us togs guidance on what settings to use as it's fixed lighting as opposed to flash. Once she'd sorted us out, she helped the models get comfortable and gave them the confidence to pose in this 'alien' environment.

Everyone came away from the shoot having thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and I'm sure many of us will return there in the future.

A Shot in the Dark

Wow, just wow what can I say?? Honestly, I can't sing the Tankspace praises enough!!

All our questions were answered before the day really well and it made everyone (we were all totally new!) feel so much more comfortable!

On the day we were made to feel SO welcome by Jess, who is just the loveliest person ever and couldn't do enough to help.

Jess was super knowledgeable about everything involved and helped every model get comfortable in the water and gave such amazing advice every dive for the models. She also had loads of ideas for poses too for the models and was just so supportive to everyone. Jess really made our experience what it was and helped us so much to get great shots and we can't thank her enough, everyone sang her praises all day.

The space itself is fantastic, plenty of space and really well set up, everyone's comfort is clearly top priority!

I can't recommend booking Tankspace enough and we're already looking at dates to come back!

With members of my family, I had a great underwater shoot at Tankspace recently. None of us had done anything like it before so we valued the guidance offered by the team.

The studio recommended two models, Halo and Lewis, who worked really well together. Prior to the day, I had provided an idea of what we hoped to achieve and Halo and Lewis then worked together to source costumes and plan mini themes, all of which were just right. On the day, they agreed the detail of any joint dives.

Jess hosted the shoot and was most attentive to our needs as well as sourcing props for the models. In summary, everyone was highly professional and well organised with the result that we really enjoyed ourselves and were able to create some stunning images

This place / studio has only recently come to my attention through recommendations from other photographers. It immediately went on my bucket list. Near enough a 200 mile round trip for me & due to health issues I do not drive that far these day, but I got to hear about a day being organised there by Lorraine Hinks including transport. What a brilliant afternoon. Not sure what I expected. Thought the tank would be much bigger but once you think about that it would just not work as you would get much more distortion through more water. The shoot was extremely well organised. There were 4 of us photographing 2 models over 2 hours. Each model takes a turn with 20 minutes in the water each then recovery time while the other one takes over. This works very well. Depending on your camera you may have to use manual focus, but my camera managed to cope very well. no flash is used & I recommend you use auto ISO but you are given pointers on all this before you start. There are 4 seats infront of the tank & you rotate on these every 5 minutes so no one hogs the so called best middle seats. Again very well organised. A very highly recommend every photographer should try this. I am definitely hooked & I will be back. Thank you to all concerned.

Been on my bucket list for some time now.

But unfortunately with all that has been going on the shoot unfortunately kept getting put back.

But got my self booked on one with time line events.

Fantastic shoot well worth the wait.

Three models on the day take my hat off to them.

All where brilliant, dresses, wings and different colour fabrics. Which made it amazing.

The staff and the models were really lovely.

Lovey welcome, came for a chat in the car park before we started.

Got so many great images to many to choose from.

If you are thinking of going and getting some fantastic images of something different. Then just book it you will not be disappointed.

Try to book a model who has done it before as you will get more time and probably better images.

As it is something you need to practice first.

Don't worry about what settings due to the staff are so helpful.
