First shoot at Studio at the Stables. This studio is a little gem with a bright future. Studios in the North West of Essex are few and far between, and this one is conveniently located within 30 minutes of Stansted/Bishop's Stortford and Chelmsford and about an hour from Southend.

Set in the grounds of a working farm, the studio has all that you need to produce excellent images. I think the props are suitable for the size of studio, you dont want too much in a small area, a changing room for your model and a good (but expanding array of lights).

Sarah was very welcoming, walks you through everything and then leaves you to get on with it - but is available if needed. All in all, a good first experience - and as the studio is local for me, I will be returning.

Well, what can I say.

What a little jewel this is hiding away in the North of the Essex country side! I personally, have been searching for sometime, trying endlessly to find exactly this kind of setting to produce the quality Boudoir images I have dream't of taking for so long now.

I seriously was beginning to think it didn't exist in this area.

My assumption was clearly incorrect. Because here it is!! Only an hour away from Southend On Sea. Just the perfect setting for this style of photography.

I emailed Sarah a number of weeks prior to the actual day I needed and booked the studio for the day. (to be correct 4 hours) And the communications from Sarah were clear and concise.

I love efficiency.

On meeting Sarah at her farm that morning, I immediately felt welcome and at home. Sarah is very personable and intriguing. This warm hearted lady is most definitely passionate about photography in general. This is even more evident once you enter the studio in the now wonderfully converted barn.

The interior of the Studio is exactly as depicted in the images you see here and just perfect.

Equipped with all the facilities you could possibly require, including a comfortable changing area for the models, a clean and prepared bathroom and as many props at your disposal as you could ever need, all to use as you feel fit. Both my model for the day (Jade Taylor) and I were instantly impressed.

The natural light throughout the Studio is both bright and soft at the same time. Just a few steps in either direction and the tones/colours vary slightly giving you options aplenty to create the feel, style and mood your looking for. For the more technically interested parties reading this, the studio is large enough to use a 70mm - 200mm F2.8 lens and create some just wonderful soft bokeh in your images.

So, to wrap this up now, because I could keep typing and writing enthusiastically about this studio and by now you've gone off to email Sarah and get a date booked in. If not, what are you waiting fo?

This studio is an excellent choice for those looking for a real Boudoir environment to shoot in.

So.... I’m a little in love with this studio.

I had my first shoot here and I can’t wait to shoot here again.

The studio has the best natural light you will ever find in a studio and looks amazing in the images.

It’s also very clean and tidy at this studio it’s actually the only place I have shot in where I didn’t leave with black feet.

I can not recommend this place enough, if you haven’t shot here yet I strongly recommend you do it’s amazing.

I booked Sarah's studio for a personal development day for Jodieex and myself.

We wanted somewhere with space and privacy to try out some new ideas and StudioAtTheStables was ideal for that.

Sarah was the perfect host the booking process was simple and drama free.

Sarah gave clear instructions and offered assistance if required then left us in peace to get on. Sarah and the studio adheres to covid safety guidelines.

The studio was spacious, clean and equipped with everything we needed. Jodie and myself came away happy that we had achieved our goals for the day.

Thank you Sarah we can definitely recommend the studio and I'm sure we will rebook in the future.

My second visit here, the first being last year as model for a workshop. Good to meet Sarah this time, very friendly lady and great communication beforehand with plenty of detail.

This studio has a lot of variety giving plenty of choices for shooting different styles and is great for natural light and studio lighting. Very well presented, clean with heating and for us models, a separate changing room with ample space and facilities.

The studio is definitely recommended by me and I hope to return in the not too distant future.

Had another brilliant shoot at Sarah's studio. It's got everything you could wish for and as a bonus there are some wonderful outdoor locations to use.

This is an amazing studio and I would thoroughly recommend whether you are starting out in a studio or you are a seasoned studio user. So much potential.

I spent a day at Studio at the Stables this month, working with a model and another photographer. The space is awesome and offers all sorts of photographic opportunities, from traditional studio looks to boudoir and even farmland! It has big windows and can be used to shoot natural light, as well as studio lighting. The space was well presented and clean and had ample heating. Communication with the management was spot on, and the day ran entirely as planned. Hope to shoot there again soon. Very much recommended.

I’ve had 2 boudoir shoots and a family shoot at SATS, what an amazing place. Loads of good light and the changing area is an excellent facility. Sarah is an excellent photographer with loads of good ideas and scenarios. I’m definitely looking forward to working with her again 😊
