Had my first shoot at the studio today and can't recommend enough. Comms were great leading up to the shoot and Sarah was very understanding when I had to cancel last minute a month ago.

Such a shame they are closing soon as I only discovered it recently!

I booked StudioAtTheStables for a shoot using the natural window light. I had never shot in a studio before, I don't understand flash lighting, triggers, modifiers or anything like that, so it was kinda daunting.

The studio itself was obviously well equipped, so should satisfy the needs of anyone wanting to use the lighting setups. It was roomy, and that window light was amazing! My concern was that it was going to be too dark on the overcast day, but it was light and airy. The various pieces of furniture and flower vases made 'set dressing' very easy, so I needn't have worried.

The studio is an hour and a half drive from me, so it won't be a weekly commute. However, I definitely want to use this facility again in the future!

Used SAS plenty of times now, but unbeknown to me, Sarah opens the studio in the evenings midweek.

Once I had spoken to a model who was in the area during the week, here is the 1st place I thought.

Impeccable comms, on hand if needed, but usually lets you get on with it. Just a great local space to shoot in that is VERY reasonably priced.

Will always use, if required, and I am a fussy bugger - so that must say something...

Absolutely delighted with this studio. My shoot was arranged at a time of snow and hence I was a little concerned that my models would have difficult getting to find it as they were travelling separately but the postcode lands you right at the gate that leads to the farm. Even when it is snowbound, the studio can be found!

Tea and coffee facilities welcomed by my models - I had brought my trusty Thermos in any case for me, but my girls appreciated warm drinks on arrival and at intervals between set shoots.

The space is roomy and the southern facing windows brought a lovely warm white light into the studio during the winter afternoon, making natural light shooting a pleasure.

The studio lights and triggers were available and ready to be plugged in and set up too, so all bases were covered.

My ONLY concern was that there was no heating in the toilet area so apart from the essential visits it was a no-go area during the shoot. I suppose if we had left the door open it might have warmed a bit from the space heater in the main studio, so I have yet to know if that is the fix for it.

Absolutely no complaints about the props and accessories available. Hardly touched any but a few hats and a couple of jackets were used to supplement the models' own wardrobes.

Now I know the studio's layout and features, I am sure that I will be able to enhance future shoots with a few items I can bring to personalise my own work. I can certainly see that a good photographer can get a lot done in this studio and, in warmer weather, probably venture into the farmyard itself for some outdoor shots as well.

Given its lovely rural setting, it is not at all much of a challenge to base your shoot at this location and, during the golden hour perhaps, temporarily go away from the studio to the nearby village and fields to do some pretty "model in landscape" work.

This has to be one of my favourite studios. The one hour drive is indicative of how much I enjoy using it. The split colour flooring and multiple options to create room sets means it never gets repetitive. There were some technical issues with equipment, but I’m assured these will be dealt with, and Sarah the owner has offered very generous compensation, so no more to say on the matter. A lovely studio in a great location, it remains a firm favourite.

Worked at this studio for the first time for a Studio Day recently and what a lovely studio it is!! Great set of backdrops and props to use, the natural light is brilliant but there are also lights to use there as well. Sarah was great and kept out the way to allow me to get on with the day, but also helped promoting it out beforehand and made sure I had everything I needed for the day beforehand.

I'm sure I'll be back again at some point, thanks again and highly recommend this studio! :)

What a great place to shoot in! Easy parking, clean, tidy, oodles of space, plenty of little 'set' areas, enough lighting equipment to be effective, changing area, hot and cold running drinks - and - Jaffa cakes!! Ok, I know that last won't always be available but I think it highlights the attention to detail from the owner Sarah.

Well have booked this place a few times now either for my own shoots of for others and what can I say that hasn’t been said about this place.

The stables has like 3 sections the basic studio with back drops the bed for the boudoir then the dressing table there is also a Shays long and a sturdy table. There are plenty of props if needed and the lights with a couple of flashes and triggers for them. Lots of plug sockets too.

Then if you have decent weather there is plenty of places outside too.

As said booked a number of times and will happily use again

Another successful day and shoot at the Stables Studio today.

This was a last minute shoot for me, as the original photographer for this shoot had to cancel at the last minute and the models ask me to step in.

I was happy to do so! And very glad I did. Images captured I’m so pleased with.

I really love shooting here. And over the last 4 years I must have utilised these lovely facilities at least 8 or 9 times.

The Studio owner is Sarah and this lady is just the best.

Great communications, always on hand if you need assistance and on the other hand, once you arrive leaves you to get on with the shoot without any interruptions what so ever. Polite, respectful and so supportive.

The Studio is so well set-up for just about any shoot you want to do. From standard portrait shooting to, well wherever your imagination takes you.

I shoot a lot of Boudoir here and love it. Fabulous Godox lights and large Octabox on wheels, with triggers on hand, standard lights, props a plenty in various boxes within the Studio to pick through and use. It has a great bed, dressing table, some appropriate chairs, a chais - lounge and the colorama roll on one wall for more options. Add the natural light, wooden floor, and you have all you could need. And the bonus, is the optional outsider areas to shoot in. Just fabulous.

Tea/Coffee facilities, a large toilet area with plenty of room to use as a changing area also, and warm electric radiator heaters for those cooler days.

I tend to move in for the day, on my shoots. I feel at home here and so comfortable. I just let my imagination run a little and plan the shoot accordingly.

So, if you’ve not shot here in the past, I recommend you do. And I’m certain like myself, you will return many times. Looking forward to planning more shoots in the new year at this great little studio.

Recently had my first shoot at this Studio after discussing with the Model where we should use that was convenient to both of use!

The Stables studio has a good long space and layout, with lighting and various furniture to use, so i set-up my own space and it worked a treat, think we captured some amazing images for a first shoot at the Stables Studio!

Definitely can highly recommend and will use again myself, when in need of a Studio around this area!

Second time hiring this place and what can I say? Sarah is a great host it’s open with lots of things to use and plenty of tea coffee and hot chocolate when you waiting for models to get ready. It’s really got 4 personalities in a ok size barn. So you have classic studio with light, shays long by an well light window through the day the bed and then the dressing table. It’s a working farm too and Sarah is happy for you to go out as long as you don’t get in the way and there is a worn out barn out side and lots of odd places to use.

Sarah is very relaxed and very helpful if needed her details I learnt a bit too late are on the welcome sheet and also her number on the door.

Really enjoyed shooting at Studiointhestables, a lovely space with plenty of facilities and the gorgeous countryside location makes for a very relaxing and peaceful shoot.

Pre-comms were perfect and was made to feel very welcome on the day. 100% recommendation.

this place was such an excellent find for hubby and i to use as a studio. its only 45 minutes from where we live and makes for a central location for models coming from London to central Essex

I always shoot barefoot as I find it so easy to move around this studio space.

Cant fault the host/owner as she has always been a gem if ever needed (thankfully not yet :) ) But was a pleasure to meet her on my first venture there

What a lovely little studio!

This was the second time I've used Studio at the Stables and this time was even better than before.

Communication and booking was easy and friendly and the equipment in the studio was even better than before.

Just about everything I could possibly need was there, including coloured paper backdrops and lots of interesting props for my model to explore.

Simply, a little gem in the middle of the countryside.

As Arnie says, "I'll be back!" :)

I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again, this studio and it’s facilities are superb! I had an absolute blast there on this visit helped by the stress free way to book and hire. The studio is always presented in a clean and tidy manner. Tea coffee etc provided. I just love working at The Studio At The Stables and knowing that I’ll be able to utilise the in house equipment alongside mine truly helps for a quick set up. I always come away happy with the results. Wholeheartedly recommend this fabulous studio.

Once again I booked Studio At The Stables for the entire day. What a fabulous and productive day I had, capturing many wonderful images both inside the studio utilising the equipment on hand mixed in with my own.. The inside of the studio is great and the vaulted ceiling adds to the spaciousness. As the weather was bright and sunny on day of shoot it afforded me to be able to capture shots from a variety of locations around the studio. There are a plethora of different settings all around the studio. If you have not used the great facilities at this studio I urge you too. Communications are handled without fuss with the owner and booking is straightforward and easy, what’s not to like.

I've been to this fantastic studio three times in total now. The most recent time was last weekend when I hired the studio so I could host my own studio day. The studio is brilliant and I will be recommending it to all photographers and models. It is always clean and tidy and the equipment is superb.
