Fern culture - I'll seek the shaggy fern clad hill

From my very first walk & shoot in the Forest of Dean. A fabulous start to my Forest adventures.

In medieval times ferns were believed to have mystical & magical properties; their seeds & flowers were thought to make you invisible. If you were in the right place at the right time, had the right charms, said the right words, performed the right ritual, you would gain magical powers.

I really love this image, the colour of the bracken, the anonymity & just the simplicity I think. Thank you so much to Greg for sharing them.
