What can I say about Silkwood and Karen...

Today I managed to do my first ever self hosted event with the huge help and support from Karen at Silkwood. I could not have even begun to think of doing this event without all of her help she is truly a magician. Everyone was so happy with how helpful she was and her set ups were incredible. From start to finish she was polite, friendly and so kind to all involved. I have known her for many years and I will always support this amazing studio. It is one of a kind. ♥

Karen's studio was the venue for an event organised by Erica Mulkern and it is huge, so that photographers can split into 2 or more small groups and work simultaneously. She was very welcoming and helpful, and set up the lighting on each set for us. I will definitely be very happy to return to this studio even though it is a long way from home. Highly recommended.

Excellent studio, Karen (the manager) was so helpful and patient, studio is huge and offers so many possibilities. Lots of modifiers, props, highly recommended and will be booking again

I had the absolute pleasure of shooting at Silkwood twice whilst I was in the area.

What a great space! No exaggeration! Karen makes for the perfect host and there are tons of things to get creative with that are already there in the studio. From lighting, to back drops, to props and clothes, you have hours of material to shoot with.

Thank you for having me and listening to my mad stories and humour haha.

Had my first shoot on Friday at Silkwood with the wonderful Zoe Margo.

Really enjoyed it and got some great results. The space is huge and well equipped with plenty of lights, props etc. as well as a changing room for the model. They also have a sound system so you can listen to your favourite music while you work.

Karen is a great host and goes out of her way to make you feel welcome.

I would thoroughly recommend the studio as it is well worth the money to get more professional results.

Last week I had my first shoot with Richard at Silkwood studio. It is a really fantastic and spacious place to shoot. So many great props and settings :) I really enjoyed my time working in this studio. Hopefully I'll be back there at some point in the future :)

Checked this studio for a client shoot a few weeks ago to be amazed in what I can describe is a big open space and beautiful Studio with all kinds of possibilities to shoot in.

There is endless of ideas to shoot in any direction of the studio what ever your using with natural light or artificial lights (Strobes)

Two beautiful owners Karen and Victor who welcomed me to the studio on the visit and the shoot day.

Would highly recommend this studio for photographers, models and most of all to my clients.

Even though i live in York and the studio is about a 45 minute journey i Will be visiting this studio again in the near future.

Amazing studio! its huge! Plenty of space to work in, great facilities, and more than enough lights, modifiers, backdrops etc. Lots of natural light too!

Karen is a great host, very organised and helpful. Would book again without hesitation!

I attended Silkwood studio for a sweet like candy concept shoot with the wonderful Andy, Selena & HauseOfO.

The studio is very large which gives you plenty to work with, offering many different sets throughout the day. Karen was a lovely host and was very happy to help.

The studio is very clean and a real gem!

My first shoot at Silkwood and in fact my first since covid. So slightly nervous as I felt a bit rusty, and add in to which a new space and new equipment. But Karen was there to settle me in and on hand throughout if I had any queries. So it was anything but a learning experience and everything went very well. Lots of different spaces to use and some props on hand to add a drama.

What an amazing studio! The booking and payments system are easy and Karen was friendly and helpful all day. The infinity cove and two natural light areas adjacent to the big windows were all fabulous. I shot with Erica Mulkern and we took some stupendous images. Highly recommended.

First class studio....spacious with big natural windows all round, together with good lighting systems. The booking and payment system is the best that I've come across and don't forget the the amazing host Karen who looked after us so well while we're there.

I had amazing first shoot at silkwood Studio with Erica the studio is huge they have got loads of sets they have got loads of flashes you can use and accessories you can use Karen the owner was so lovely very helpful always on hand if you need help with anything she was amazing host makeing me a drink of tea the studio is one of the best studio I have been to I will definitely be comeing back to the studio i 100% recommended the studio and Karen to all models and photographers thanks for amazing day i loves every minute of it

I had my first model evening at Silkwood Studio. I have been using silkwood for years now but this was my first time modelling for them at one of their evening events. As always the studio was warm, welcoming and everything ran smoothly. I would highly recommend silkwood either as a hire option or to attend their well run events.

Silkwood Studio is a fabulous space with lots and of space and shooting areas and a very high ceiling. There is a large amount of equipment available to use - studio lights, modifiers, back drops.

The facilities are first class too - dressing room, rest rooms and kitchen / lounge areas. I have hired the studio many times now and me and my Clients have been very well looked after by Karen who manages the Studio - lovely lady🤩

I highly recommend Silkwood Studio.

My second shoot at Silkwood, which is a studio I love working in because of its space, wonderful natural light, numerous possibilities and its welcoming, friendly atmosphere. It's easy to get to as well, being just a few minutes off the motorway and with on-site parking.

Everything is on hand, from lighting to props, and everything works perfectly, meaning that my model and I could get through several shoot ideas without slowing down. The amount of space is amazing and the character of the building itself adds a special feel.

A big thanks once again to Karen, the owner. I'll be back soon with another project!

I booked this studio on the recommendation of a local model, and I am glad I did. Very easy process to book, and very friendly people to deal with.

I arrived slightly early but it wasn’t a problem. Hot drinks available all the time, even chocolate biscuits! Lots of lighting, modifiers, backdrops, vast shooting areas and even good natural light should you wish to shoot that way. I do not think I have ever seen an infinity cove so big! Reasonable prices for a superb facility, what is there not to like? 5 stars.

What a lovely studio! Shot here a couple of times now, and both times were such good experiences.

The studio itself is very spacious, has plenty of natural light, well-equipped and I especially enjoy a private changing room with dressing table and numerous mirrors.

Studio is also very clean and well managed, it's 5 stars from me overall!

I can’t remember how many times I’ve shot at this studio but it is certainly one of my favourite studios in Yorkshire!

The first time I shot here I was blown away at just how spacious it was, probably the biggest studio I’ve been to yet!

Even though it’s a big space, it warms up really nicely during the colder months. It has a lovely clean changing room with an abundance of clothing and props.

It has a space for natural light and each corner has a different set so it is a very versatile studio and you can’t run out of ideas here!

Karen the owner is very warm and welcoming and she is always on hand to help with changing sets and helping with the lights. She also makes wonderful cups of tea!

Highly recommend!

My second shoot at Silkwood and I'm hoping to go back again soon. Spacious with high ceilings, warm with enough equipment to do everything I wanted and plenty of other equipment (and props) to inspire further shoots.

Karen left us to it although remained on hand to help out whenever I needed it.

The studio also has processes in place to offer good levels of protection including the cleaning of equipment between shoots.
