I had a great shoot at Silkwood. The studio has everything needed, with great sets and equipment and a changing room with plenty of space. The studio owner is friendly, on hand to help where needed and welcoming. I’d have no hesitation in recommending again to future photographers.

Silkwood is an outstanding studio which offers plenty of space, lighting equipment, backdrops, natural light. You name it, it has it! The studio owner is very professional and always so welcoming. Nothing is ever an issue. The studio is very well located, offers parking and easily accessible via public transport. Every photographer and model I’ve worked with has had nothing but great things to say about the studio and the owner. If you get the chance to shoot at Silkwood, take it!

I shot my first session with Ballerina Erica Mulkern at Silkwood studios today and was very impressed not just with the space, but the level of professional lighting equipment, excellent choice of backdrops and props, and of course Nathan.

Nathan was on hand to welcome me into the building, offered tea and coffee, and helped set up the lights and backdrops perfectly for my dance shoot with Erica.

This is not just a good quality studio with very high ceilings and lots of useful space, it's also great value compared to many similar spaces, and I won't hesitate to book more shoots there next year.

I hired Silkwood for a shoot. A great studio, spacious, but still warm in spite of the cold outside. A good choice of work areas and a very friendly and helpful team. I am sure I will be back.

I ADORED shooting in this space. The dressing room is glorious, the space is a wonderful size and has flexible areas, it was warm enough and I was offered a cup of tea more than once. Hooray for THAT. Yes. Hooray...

Oh, and we had 6music playing, which added to my ability to lark about and have fun with the shooty shoot.

Another marvellous shoot at Silkwood yesterday. Although not present whilst taking a well earned break the work Nathaniel is putting in is very visible. The studio was clean well laid out and all the equipment was available and well organised.

A superb space which is just getting better and better on each visit.

Highly recommend using Silkwood Studio if you can, exceptional space.

Went to the relaunch and what a great turnout! I met photographers and MADE NEW FRIENDS! I enjoyed the spacious and diverse setups available. I had the most friendliest welcome and felt so welcome! I can not wait to book in some time here at this fantastic venue!

I love this studio! It has endless possibilities to create amazing images, it’s a massive location with a laidback friendly atmosphere. The owner Nathaniel is such a lovely person, so easy to get along with, helpful and respectful. He also asked for feedback, for room for improvement which as a model I can’t see any room to improve an already awesome place! Today was my first full day event and it went really well, myself and the photographers had a fantastic time. Nathaniel even provided me with my lunch which was much appreciated.

This was my first timw at Silkwood Studios.Nathaniel was there to great me along with Erica, Where my satnav had a wobble and took me to different place. after getting some directions finaly got there!

I had another excellent shoot at Silkwood this afternoon.

Nathanial is very easy to get along with, and every ready to help if needed. He has started adding a few new features to the studio since taking over, and has several more in the pipeline.

This really is a great natural light studio, and is also well equipped with strobe heads and a good selection of modifiers.

I can thoroughly recommend it to models and photographers alike.

First shoot at Silkwood and in the two hours felt as though barely used the space on offer, it is that huge of a location.

Nathaniel likes a good chat and is keen to get people in so I highly recommend this studio. The layout is massive, the areas to shoot varied and there's plenty of parking in an area very easy to find straight from the motorway.

Looking forward to shooting there again.

Wow, this studio is hugeee! The possibilities are endless. Well equipped with all you need but also the windows allow soo much natural light in if that’s the look you’re going for.

Nathaniel, the new studio owner was so lovely, helpful and professional. I even had a cuppa made for me.

The fridge full of drinks ans chocolate biscuits is a nice touch for us as models and the photographers but I thought it was more than generous when Nathaniel told me the fridge rules… a donation, a review or to pay it forward.

I’ll most certainly be back again in the near future!

With the studio under new ownership I had my first shoot at Silkwood Studio today.

Upon contacting the studio Nathaniel ensured the booking was seamless using his new booking facility on the web site. From our first contact he could not have been more helpful. A very quick response to my initial enquiry and very helpful to answer all my questions.

Those who had used Silkwood previously will see little physical difference within the studio at the moment but Nathaniel did divulge a few of his future plans which will only enhance the studio. All the lighting and props that were within the studio remain. It is a superb space, great natural light and an abundance of equipment available to use. I'll certainly be back to use the studio, in fact I believe as early as next month all going to plan:)

I'd certainly recommend Silkwood as a studio for experienced photographers or for those like myself starting down this journey.

Thanks Nath for your help today, a thoroughly enjoyable first visit to your studio.

An excellent find! Roomy, well equipped, plenty of props, and with fantastic natural light softly diffused through northern facing windows - a dream! Karen offers a warm reception and a great brew to boot. Highly recommended.

Silkwood is a wonderful space for dance photography and brilliantly run by Karen. For my shoot with Erica Mulkern she had organised 2 volunteers to help throw fabrics and streamers and the result was some stunning images. The atmosphere is friendly and totally supportive. I'm back there again in a few weeks and can't wait. Thanks Karen :-)

Outstanding shoot with the remarkable Erica Mulkern and Daniel Longhurst yesterday at the wonderful Silkwood Studio. This was a group shoot and was superbly coordinated by Karen with six themes and photographers well organised so that we all got the shots we wanted. Karen's wonderful lighting together with Erica and Daniel's boundless energy and superb dance and modelling skills ensured that the images were great and I have loads to choose from for my editing. Thanks for a great day :-)

In Search of That Perfect Shot..............

I attended Erica's studio day on Sunday. It was lovely to shoot with her and Daniel on their dance themed event at Silkwood Studios. We got some amazing results! The poses were awesome by both Erica and Daniel and they worked well together on the duo dance sets. What can I say! Just book on if you see an event being advertised - you won't be disappointed! It was my first visit to Silkwood as it is a tad far for me to travel but now that I have seen the studio I will be back if I see anything else advertised that will suit me. Karen was fabulous with the lighting and set arrangements and very helpful too. Many thanks,Jann

I had a wonderful honour of having a photoshoot with the talented Ballerina Erica Mulkern at Silkwood Studios. It was Erica who recommended me in the first place to have a shoot at this wonderful studio and I must say I am absolutely impressed.

Karen is great host at this wonderful and amazing studio and she was there to help at every instance wherever I needed her guidance. The studio is so huge and spacious. There are all sorts of facilities available and multiple areas to shoot. There are beautiful hand painted backdrops and light modifiers which made my imagination go wild to think of all the different types of concepts and ideas I can shoot at this amazing studio.

The infinity cove area is also huge. Please look at the images I have shared on my port and you should be able to gauge it for yourself.

Overall I'm absolute impressed with this studio and I highly recommend photographers and models to shoot at this place. I'm looking forward to shoot many more time here. Many thanks to Erica for introducing to this wonderful studio. Karen you are absolutely amazing and many thanks for having me at your studio. :-)
