Another one of my favourites from this great shoot with Emma - love the strong red line of the tights, and her fierce expression and pose.

I had a flurry of flexible/fitness/ballet shoots before the summer, mostly because of an opportunity. A few times a year I get access to a great location with a white studio and large garden. I've done this a few times, but this time I cleared out even more furniture from the space and was able to do more floor work. I often love shooting from ground level for the change of perspective, but I discovered two additional benefits - the polished tiled floor gives a soft reflection; and I don't need to photoshop out the green squares between the corners of each white tile!

Doing 5 shoots in one week, I got to perfect the reflection even more by playing with mirrors, and eventually wetting the floor (look for the snowflake-shaped photo earlier in my portfolio), but this shot I love for Emma's incredibly long legs, the serenity of her expression, and the pastel colours of the yoga outfit.

Fun fact - I first met Emma on a beach in St. Tropez in 2022. Granted, I was invited by a dancer friend to come hang out and take photos of her dance troupe, and Emma was one of the dancers. But it was a great coincidence that Emma was looking for photographers based in the UK to get some personal brand photos, and I happened to see the casting.
