References for Mike Martin

My most recent collaboration with Mike came yet again on a Group Cast at Leigh Court Manor House. The location was as opulent as they come and so it all the necessary components for a great shoot day.

Mike has shot photography across a wide range of genre and it shows on his work. I have become particularly appreciative of how he captures aerial views and perspectives with models and the location provided the perfect opportunity for this.

Not long into the shoot, a technical problem was encountered with the camera. As good fortune would have it there were spare cameras on hand. And Mike demonstrated true adaptability and composure in switching to a less familiar camera yet still delivering more of the great shots he is accustomed for not only with myself but many of the other members of the cast too.

I am yet to see all of the edits but some epic images were produced worthy of the grand location and finely dressed cast, largely thanks to Mike's vision and I can't wait to see more of the results!

I look forward to working with Martin again soon. He is definitely highly recommended by me! 😎

I've met Mike a number of times at the Bristol Modelling events and have become a great fan of his innovation with the camera and his great artistry with the images he captures.

Most of my modelling encounters with Mike have been on Group Shoots one of which resulted in Award Winning Images. My second most recent collaboration with him came as the result of a casting for a 'Peaky Blinders' themed shoot. Mike emerged as the second Photographer and played an instrumental role in the planning and subsequent preparation. His enthusiasm for the shoot was apparent from the outset.

On the day itself Mike came fully equipped as you would expect and more even providing tools (weapons) for the Protagonist's!

With the location being a Castle and various adjoining barns, there was plenty of scope for Mike to conjure up some more spectacular photography masterpieces! I am yet to see all of the edits but some dramatic scenes were shot largely thanks to his creativity and I can't wait to see the results!

I look forward to working with Martin again soon. He is definitely highly recommended by me! 😎

This was my first Shoot with Mike Being a model for him, he was a great communicator and organiser of the Shoot within just a few days, the theme was 'Messy' for The Creative Photo Challenege. We had a great time in the Studio and Mike released his inner Make Up Artist with poster paint! He was great at directing me to achieve the images he wanted, and I was really happy with the results! Mike was very quick at sending through the final images and keeping me up to date with where we were in the challenge. Cant wait to book the next Shoot, the ideas are already evolving.

I had the privilege of working with the lovely Mike Martin again yesterday, and I have to say I think it was one of our best shoots yet!! I have been lucky enough to shoot with him on numerous occasions now, with every single shoot getting better and better!!

Yesterdays theme was PINK. Although that may seem vague, it is enough for us to create something amazing that combines the thought process of myself, Mike and the MUA we have been working with - Charlotte. We went for a simple but bright pink look with the make up, nice big curly hair, a corset and a skirt fashioned on the day. Usually we go for a few looks in a shoot, however this time we were all so pleased with the finished look we decided to continue shooting in the same hair & make up all day. We were lucky enough to be allowed to shoot in a neighbours garden where their blossoms were in full bloom, then came back to mine to shoot with blossoms Mike had brought with him.

Even though we only went for one look, somehow Mike managed to capture each set differently so that each group had an atmosphere unlike the others. As always, modelling with Mike was a pleasure. He gives direction where needed, but also gives freedom to the model. We're always on the same wave length, so I never have to worry how he is shooting me; I know he understands what look I am going for without having to say anything. This is rare in a photographer and one of the things that makes shooting with Mike such a pleasure. Working with him is a true collaboration.

And last but not least, I cannot leave a reference for Mike without mentioning his AMAZING attitude towards my animals. He is even learning the countless names for them which always impresses me. Mike is fearless around EVERY SINGLE ONE of my animals, including the scorpions and spiders. You cannot imagine how refreshing this is for me. He is mastering capturing them so quickly, and has already produced some of my favourite images of my babies that will be blown up and hung on my walls very soon. I await every single set of images with great anticipation, as I know I am going to love them.

All in all Mike is an amazing man with so many creative ideas and the ability to capture so many emotions that I would recommend to every one.

Far Forest Studio

We were pleased to welcome Mike to our studio today for his first vist and what a pleasure it was to meet him.

We have seen his work before so to see him work today was a treat. A professional in every way and a perfect gent too, a winning combination for any studio welcoming him and anyone he works with.

With his bag of props and a lovely model he made full use of the outside space and we look forward eagerly to seeing the results.

Highly recommended to any studio or model and we hope he will be back soon.

I had worked breifly with Mike previously at Standon Hall Networking day and we created some amazing images considering it was pitch black and we couldnt see each other let alone if the camera was facing the right way.

So we got together for a location share event put on by Studio Antics World at Guys Cliffe House...and what a day!!

We managed to get a shot with an amazing veiwpoint of the location that other teams missed as well as some outstanding images again in unlit rooms! Mike is so easy to work with and is happy to show images in the back of the camera...if your lucky he may even bring his photography book! it really was a treat to work with you and i'd happily recommend him!

I met Mike for the first time on Saturdays shoot. Was lovely to meet such a friendly, passionate photographer! It was easy to chat and laugh from the get go which was amazing for me as I'm a newbie to this. We had lots of fun getting creative with shots, was nice to be able to share ideas and get some direction. He seemed just as excited as me which is always a good thing! Received some amazing shot at the end of it, really would love to work with him again....soon please! x
