It doesn't happen too often in a lifetime when you see a morning that can only be described as perfect.

This was one such morning.

My friend Steve Stephen Hill and I were going up to Cleveland for a day. This was in late January or early February, and it had snowed the night before, and although it was bitter cold, the air was absolutely still, and the sun was as bright as can be.

It was one of those mornings when, because there wasn't any wind, the fresh snow was exactly where it had fallen, and there were patches of frozen fog hanging in the air, and the snow and frost were clinging to every branch and twig

Well, as photographers, there's just no way in hell, regardless of how badly we wanted to get on the road, to stop and get the cameras out.

This is one of the images I took that morning, at a small roadside park along the Blanchard River in Northwest Ohio
