Following a short notice casting call (like 14 hours notice!), I was asked to photograph the final looks of four models being made up by four Make Up Artist (MUA) trainees at MelVic Makeup Academy by Mel, the owner.

Upon arrival I was made very welcome by Mel and introduced to the Models and MUA and basically given a free hand to shoot some BTS (Behind The Scenes) shots as well as the completed 'look' on the models by their respective MUA. The Models and MUAs were very relaxed with me around and we got some lovely pictures of the MUA's creations. I must mention and thank the MUAs - Beki, Danielle, Lucy, and Nadine as well their Models Beth, Katherine, Kitt, and Shannon for putting up with me sticking my camera lens in at times.

Mel is a very skilled and talented Make Up Artist with loads of experience and credits herself and runs a very professional Academy. It was great having the opportunity to work with her and I can recommend her (and her Academy) thoroughly.

I have always been a great admirer of Malenie's work in special her high creative makeovers..... and finally got to collaborate with Malenie and her students yesterday, and what an afternoon it was.

I was invited to her academy to do some photography of her latest work, the academy is clean and bright perfect for photography, Malenie's attention to detail is where her work stands out and makes her a truly leading professional in her field, yes we talked about future collaborations and in which I could not wait.

Highly recommend.

I just want to leave a reference for Melanie. This is the second time we met up for a creative shoot and it is always great fun and a laugh. Its really good when someone " gets" what you do and knows what to add to it to make it even better. Melanie and Melvicmakeup are quite simply awesome and in the shoot with Kira Krueger and Josie Moran we had such laughs and giggles. As well as being a wizard in makeup she makes a most excellent cup of coffee. I had decided to pack in shooting people but shooting with Melanie and the girls made me change my mind.

Invited to do a shoot @ MelVics Makeup Academy recently. 3 models engaged for this shoot, Xara, Amy & Josie - they were amazing, each offering something very unique. Mel & her team provided 2 hairstyles & 2 makeovers for each of the models. Wow, they looked stunning and complimented the outfits splendidly.

So very impressed with Mel & her team, they worked incredibly hard. All an absolute joy to work with, very creative and very welcoming to any ideas/input from us. Any models out there that want this dream team to produce hair & makeup for their shoots will not be disappointed. 100% guaranteed.

Mel & her team are a wonderful group to work with, very approachable, easy going but extremely professional; they all take great pride in their work and it shows.

I love working with this wonderful lady! We had a great and productive collaborative shoot at her modern and super clean academy yesterday. Melanie is so dedicated to her craft and the epitome of professionalism whilst also managing to be so bubbly and friendly that she immediately puts anyone at ease and makes you feel like you've known her for years. Her skill and positive attitude never ceases to amaze me. She uses brilliant products and she is so knowledgable that I pick up tips from her everytime. The skin products she used yesterday made my skin feel amazing, smelt great and were UK made and cruelty free which was a massive win in my book! I usually struggle having full eyelashes put on and Melanie is the only person to get 2 pairs of eyelashes on me and with relative ease. I know I can always trust Mel to encourage me to do my own thing pose wise but also be on hand to help and give her input and keep me looking fabulous. what a fantasic new creative friend I met yesterday. We did a wonderful Japanese inspired mini shoot with my amazing model friend Kira Krueger and Mel's makeup and professionalism impressed me very much. That along with her fantastic personality and easy to get along with attitude to things was a pleasure to experience. we had a good laugh. I had to shoot off early though due to other obligations but really do want to collaborate with Mel again.

I cannot recommenced her more highly.

Melanie created three different looks on me and she is just amazing, so very talented and creative. I was massively impressed with her skills, she was even sympathetic to me because of my sensitive eyes. I would 10000% recommend her and will always tell future clients I work with about her. She's also a lovely person too, lots of chatting and fun.

I worked with Melanie on an Avant Garde style fashion shoot with model Nicky Phillips, this is the third occasion I have utilised Melanie’s skills and once again she has shown what a first class make up and hair stylist she is. She brings enormous experience and skill to the shoot which together with a very creative approach to styling makes such a difference to the outcomes.

Melanie is an extremely pleasant person to work with, is able to interpret ideas and bring them to life. I cannot recommend Melanie enough, a true artist.

Had a brilliant first shoot with MelVic on Wednesday, 20th April @ Millwood Studios, Stalybridge. Mel arrived on time with her trainee Lucy Jenkinson.

Mel is a highly motivated individual; unbelievably talented, she is a skillful MUA/Beauty Editor/SFX/Skin Camouflage/Body Art/Photographic Makeup Artist & can also style hair. There is really no end to this lady's talents.

Mel has many creative ideas that she is happy to share with you, her personality and enthusiasm is infectious, her communication and engagement with models and photographers alike is effortless - what a joy to work with & professional throughout.

Mel & her trainees are incredible and if you haven't yet had the 'experience' of working with her and her team you are really missing out on someone very special.

Another wonderful shoot with Melanie, doing 2 beautiful and very different looks. :) The 2 hairstyles Melanie and her assistant did were to die for, I didn't want to take them out. Melanie is so talented, patient and knowledgable aswell as having a twinkle of mischief about her. She excels in any look she does and is completely egoless. Bless her she even fed me cake between sets because I was starving. When you shoot with Mel, you feel spoilt. She is the best of the best. I had a shoot with mel and her students booked since January/February, Mel is really organised and professional with great communication. Mel is also unbelievably talented and experienced with plenty of stories about working in film/media and fashion - which provides opportunities for her students too.

The studio itself was great and I felt really pampered getting hair and makeup done. Even though the shoot wasn't as originally planned I appreciate it not being cancelled and everyone involved brought great ideas on the spot.

I absolutely love working with Melanie, she is so bubbly and friendly she immediately puts you at ease. We shot on location today and despite it being a tad chilly I don't think she ever stopped smiling and the time just flew by. She is an asset to any team, I had so much fun today with Stuartful, Mel and her lovely assistant. The hair and make up she did was flawless and perfect for the theme. I worked with the fantastic Mel and her two trainees yesterday. I was very impressed with their creative work with my hair and make up. I have mega long and thick hair and they handled it with ease. The two trainees even did body paint on me, and some terrific blended striped lace topped stockings.

I was lucky enough to be invited along to the studio in Warrington to shoot Mels students work yesterday.

Mel and her students were very friendly and made me feel welcome. The standard of their work was exceptional, everyone was very helpful indeed.We got some great shots together in a short time.

Mel is a real professional and i would highly recommend her to anyone, i hope to work with her again in the future.

What can I say that hasn't been said before ?? Mel is an absolute joy to work with and is a total professional who brings a wealth of knowledge with her (along with a ton of fab make up). Her attention to detail is second to none and nothing is too much trouble for her. She is so kind and considerate and totally knows her profession inside out. Would I recommend her - 100% yes yes yes. If you haven't worked with her why not, you don't know what (or who) you are missing. She runs a fantastic Academy in Warrington so if you want to know more I suggest you contact her as quickly as possible :-)

Mel came as the makeup artists for a Queen themed shoot I had with Joan Blease. She is fantastic at her craft and quickly understood what Joan was after and set to work. She works quickly and efficiently and the makeup was perfect. She stayed for the duration of the shoot to check on the makeup and helped out with styling and reflector holding. Mel is a lovely person and i really enjoyed working with her.

Very highly recommended.
