Adult, Bondage, Erotic, Fetish, Lingerie, Nude and Topless
Full-time professional Photographer and Rope Bondage Artist since 2004
I specialise in Artistic Nude, Figure Nude, Fine-Art Nude, Erotica, Shibari & Rope Bondage.
I only shoot in the above genres, this is the majority of my full-time work (I also teach rope bondage, tie for other photographers & videographers, and have an online store for rope and related hardware).
There are three routes to modelling for me;
- Hire me. (my main work is clients hiring me to photograph them (often tie & photograph them), mostly private individuals but if you have a commercial use for photos of yourself then I can also shoot for that, individual images or sets, including video).
- Content Share. (another option for models who have an outlet/commercial use for their photos, from paysites to subscriber services etc. either a mixed shoot of your needs & my needs, or content we can both similarly use, no money changes hands either way).
- TFP + Profit Share. (For models who want to be involved in one of my artistic projects, or who would benefit from my photos in their portfolio/social media and don't want to hire me, I shoot TFP, but I always need to be able to make money from every shoot so for a TFP shoot I share the profits with my model).
Three important things to note;
I don't pay models (unless I've already worked with you and I know you are suitable for, reliable for, and can deliver for a shoot for which I'm being paid by a client).
I'm very experienced and proficient within the genres of Artistic Nudes, Erotica, Shibari & Rope Bondage, if you're looking for someone to shoot another genre you'd be wise to seek out an experienced and proficient photographer in that genre.
All of my work is artistic in nature, no matter how explicit it may get. If I am not happy with the artistic results required, intended or created, I don't accept the client/shoot.
I am happy to consider new models and models inexperienced in the genres I cover, if you can bring something new and interesting to my work then I'm especially interested.
- I shoot both men and women, and those outside of binary definitions.
- I shoot Nude levels and above, I can rarely use anyone who isn't comfortable nude, I only shoot artistic quality, not pornographic.
- I often work with models or clients with no experience being tied, or no experience shooting nude, or no experience in front of a camera.
- I have no upper age limit.
- I like physical variety, so while the young, slim, white, female models are certainly welcome, I will give preference to non-young, non-slim, non-white, non-female models.
- A rope bondage / shibari shoot is not playtime, I separate work & play.
For my own projects, I am currently particularly interested in hearing from:
- Non-white Female & Male models. (rope bondage, equality)
- Female models with physically obvious disabilities. (rope bondage, equality)
- Very fit & muscular (bodybuilder-level) female models. (rope bondage, artistic. Artistic & figure art-nude)
- An Indian model skilled in traditional Indian dance. (Artistic Project, Nude)
- Pregnant art-nude model. (must be very early stage, artistic nude shoots through pregnancy)
- male-male couple. (explicit erotica)
- female-female couple. (explicit erotica)
- Very flexible bendy female model. (gymnast/contortionist, rope bondage project, nude)
I have a couple of Want To Work With lists which you may find yourself added to, if you're on one of these lists it means I believe I can use you to create some beautiful images in the respective genre (there's a list for rope bondage and another for artistic nude), these are often new models I see joining who I can't yet send messages to. If you're not interested in modelling for me you can remove yourself from the list, if you are interested in either a TFP or Collaboration, please send me a message.
Some waffle about my background:
At school I was very enthusiastic about Art, but I was terrible at everything I tried, I had a very keen and helpful art teacher who helped me try many mediums, from fresco to batik, to oil painting and watercolour, I sucked at them all. When she discovered the school had an old dark room she gave me some 35mm B&W film and I wandered into the countryside photographing anything I thought might look nice, it turned out I had a talent for photos (it was a while before I started including naked girls).
Photography remained a hobby until around 2003 when I was trying to make a living from it shooting wildlife and landscapes mostly, I had been a big fan or erotica and artistic nude photography for a number of years and always thought this high-art to be way beyond my abilities, but some artistic friends encouraged me to try, so with the help of a local model I took to some bluebell woods I had my first art nude shoot in 2004, within a week I had sold my first print through a local gallery, it turned out I was far more talented with naked girls than fields and bunnies. Photography surrounding nudes became my full-time work.
My interest in rope bondage started around the same time, from the age of 15 I was tying girls to the bed (to stop them running away) but I had little clue what I was doing, and back then it was very tough to learn (the internet really did change everything!).
When I was 18 I was buying some 'magazines' from a certain 'shop' in Germany and I happened to pick up was a Japanese magazine full of Shibari, I was captivated by the complexity and the beauty of it, I started taking it very seriously.
For a long time I still saw rope bondage as a private sexual activity, it was quite a big step to start including it in my photography, which was then and has always been strictly artistic in nature, which made me uncomfortable initially.
By the time I was 30 (2006) Shibari and general Rope Bondage had become part of my photography, I published my first book on Bondage that year, and I was formally teaching others how to tie.
In the years since I have become best known as a rope bondage/shibari photographer, I'm in the relatively rare position of being quite talented and experienced in photographing nudes as well as being talented and experienced in bondage, fairly few people have significant skill in both, perhaps because I've made both my full-time work for around 15 years. I always consider myself to be a rope bondage artist and a nudes photographer, and sometimes the two things mix, I often shoot nudes outside of bondage and I often enjoy bondage without a camera being involved, but I think my best work is when the two combine.
I'm driven, to an almost obsessive degree, to create and capture beauty, and to share that with the world, making it a very very slightly better place. My goal for every photo is to be 'wall worthy', good enough, beautiful enough, interesting enough, that you could mount a print on the wall and just look at it, maybe for ten seconds, maybe for ten minutes.
I feel that the height of beauty centres around the human form, as a physical object, and the beauty of the person within, every body is beautiful.
I have always been motivated by the art of my work, back in the first few years when I was shooting nudes I was very careful, almost paranoid in fact, to stay as far away from pornography as possible, which I personally feel has zero artistic merit by definition, and by even the vaguest association could devalue my work, so for the first five years or so theres zero penis or vulva in any of my work.
Over the years I came to understand that some people considered my work to be erotic (by definition, sexual), and I realised that interpretation is incredibly wide and varied, one mans filth is another mans art, no matter what I do, if I'm photographing naked people, someone will call it porn.
So I started worrying less about how others may label my work, and allowed myself to experiment wherever my artistic whims took me, with the single benchmark of my own feelings on the resulting work, artistic or not artistic. This is when I started exploring Erotica, I decided that if I could photograph the most graphic of sexual activity, closeups of genitals interacting etc., and be genuinely comfortable within myself that I had created erotic art and not crude pornography, then not only have I explored a beautiful genre I had previously closed to myself, but more importantly when I'm photographing lesser nudes, bondage, etc. I'm not wasting time worrying about a glimpse of vulva getting into the composition.
Despite my comfort with the artistic quality of all of my work, much of it can't be uploaded here, so examples must be sought elsewhere.
Over the last ten years, rope bondage has gone from being a kinky BDSM niche to a very popular thing to practice and to photograph, when I started photographing my Bondage, there were extremely few people doing it in the world, there were skilled nude-art photographers, and there were skilled rope bondage artists, and they weren't coming together very often, I was unusual in being significantly talented in both and so able to create beautiful bondage for my own photography. Today there are many many more people practising rope bondage and photographing it, the minority seems to be photographers shooting fetish, bondage and BDSM who are personally interested and involved in it, still somehow I'm a minority.
Ever since I picked up that first Japanese magazine full of Shibari back in 1994 and I was captivated by the beauty of the ropework, my interest in it split into two parallel paths, I have a strong interest in the beauty of rope as it decorates the human form, every time I tie someone I try to do things a little bit differently, and I love tying different people, the variety is important for my creativity, when I'm tying just to tie, for a shoot or for practice my focus is entirely on creating beauty. My initial personal interest in tying has always remained parallel, I tie for personal reasons too, as well as being a Rope Bondage Artist/Rigger aka Rope Top aka Nawashi, I'm also a Master, Dominant and Sadist, for some projects/shoots my personal experience gives me the insight to create and capture bondage photography that's a little more than just some rope on a naked girl, otherwise the models I work with won't have any dealings with this side of me, I'm always clear that a rope shoot with me isn't play, some power exchange is inevitable when a naked girl is going to be restrained and vulnerable, but my insight and experience helps them feel completely safe and comfortable in that position, I fear some inexperienced photographers playing with rope for shoots may inadvertently make their models very uncomfortable if they fail to understand and handle this aspect properly.
My official disclaimer: All models in my bondage photos were engaged with me as models, not submissives, my photos are not captured play, and my models should not be presumed to be submitting to me, nor in any way available or willing to submit to others. All shoots are entirely consensual and all models were over 18.
A large part of my bondage work is teaching others how to tie, most of my clients are learning rope bondage for personal reasons, but my uniquely extensive experience in bondage photography allows me to be particularly helpful to photographers who don't have a personal interest and want to explore the aesthetics of rope bondage for photography, many resources for learning shibari presume an intimate/sexual partner, some aspects learned elsewhere may be entirely inappropriate for a bondage photoshoot. Also there are some approaches and techniques for making rope bondage more photogenic which are likely excluded elsewhere.
For photographers who don't have the time or inclination to learn how to tie well enough to be competent, safe and neat for photography, I am available to tie models for your shoots, my personal photographic preference is artistic but I have experience tying for shoots covering everything from bondage-porn to high-fashion.
I make rope bondage instructional videos to help people who are learning how to tie, and also teaching new ties that I designed, these videos are free to view and can be found on my website BeautifulBondage.net/Video there is one video in particular that I think every model and photographer shooting rope bondage should watch, it's titled 'Ways of Tying' and is intended to show how I (based on my 15 years experience) feel it's appropriate to interact with models for photoshoots, as opposed to tying for personal/intimate reasons, the video demonstrates some examples of both (my model for this video is someone I have a long and close working relationship with, and was very willing to be touched in a more personal/intimate manner to make this video, to help other models). I show this video to models so they know what to expect when being tied by me, and many have told me they show it to other photographers to show how they expect to be treated (this is one of my older videos, I'll get around to making a more in-depth sequel covering both personal and professional interaction techniques).
Being known as a Rope Bondage Artist and a Bondage Photographer leads to my Artistic Nude work to get less attention, yet it's my preferred genre and one I always go back to after spending time shooting projects in other genres, the beautiful purity of this genre touches me deeply, beautiful work by others as well as my own.
Anyone who's bothered to read this far, well done, and you must be really bored! the interesting and relevant stuff is all at the top above the squiggly lines, but especially if you're interested in modelling for me you now know a lot more about me, and why I do what I do.
