Some would see a lighting workshop as not the best way to start a creative journey but as mutual Instagram stalkers for the past few years, this felt like the most appropriate way to meet.

Having watched many amazing photographs appear of Marie J over the past few years, sometimes you find it hard to believe you are worthy of working together.

Marie has a wonderful attitude and great presence, her cutting-edge styling and extremely editorial look make for a creative journey, where pointing lights and pressing the shutter button are minor elements to the razor-sharp results that can be achieved.

Even though it could have been a throwaway event for Marie, she stepped up and did some immaculate makeup and arrived with a great selection of clothing which was expertly styled. Not afraid of a little discomfort her over knee shiny boots for less than £10 were not comfortable, this did not show on her face.

Marie was a great model and the images we grabbed in the group shoot were pretty good seeing as I was sharing with five other photographers. Looking forward to the next shoot together already.

Was lucky enough to work with Marie Jean at a group shoot lighting workshop at York Photo Studio (thanks KP). Great to work with, put up with my awful timekeeping (I was fashionably late dahhlings), lack of serenading and pretty mediocre sense of humour - Marie Jean was able to pull of the poses to get those great shots....shall look forwards to the similar opportunities in the future...

Marie isn’t only absolutely inspiring & beautiful, she was my stylist on the Annie Leibovitz photoshoot I did with Stesphotos (very multi talented). She is extremely lovely, she helped me with my hair & makeup as well as outfits. She directed me so well I’ve even gained a lot more confidence when we finished the shoot. She spoke to me with all the respect she could give, she offered me food & drinks in between takes & she really taught me some new amazing poses as well as helping with styling. Judging by her work, she is extremely amazing at what she does & would be an absolute inspiration to those who want a long term career in modelling.🤗❤️

I really hope we get to work together again!

My first time shooting with Marie today, always a bit nervous with a model new to you. I shouldn't of worried - she is an extremely professional model with a sense of humour who gives of her best in what she does. VERY good comms beforehand and we met up near the studio with her travelling by train from Leeds. We were concerned about delays in the potentially adverse weather conditions but she kept me informed of what trains she was on and whether it was on time (it was!). It all went to plan!!

She brought some fabulous designer dresses that had been loaned to her by the designer. :-) She was excellent to work with, changing pose automatically after each shot. She took suggestions well, and just worked extremely hard to keep up the shoot rate and was good to bounce ideas off. I can thoroughly recommend her and she should be on everybodies 'Want To Work With' list but I should warn you that she loves Jaffa Cakes!! ;-)

I have worked with Marie many times over the years and I really think she has helped me grow as a photographer. Marie is always very motivated and inspirational in planning our shoots. Her appearance is always meticulous and her range of outfits she brings along to her shoots is always themed to the shoot and of outstanding in quality.

Marie’s experience and pure professionalism is an asset to any shoot.

I'm looking forward to many more creative adventures with Marie over the next few months.

I shared a 2 hour shoot with Kevin studio owner working with Marie at York Photo Studio yesterday and what a great shoot it was. As soon as she walked through the door she was super bright and breezy a brilliant way to start and after following her work for some time it was great to finally meet her :-)

Marie has a terrific look and we shot some very elegant "Vogue" type fashion and portraits. She can strike a pose, hold it and move to the next pose effortlessly and is very happy to make suggestions and take direction. In fact, we got to the point that Marie was in the next pose I was going to suggest before I had suggested and explained, how's that for understanding and intuition hahaha :-) So easy to work with...especially useful on the day of the shoot as this being the first shoot after breaking for Xmas :-)

Working with Marie is a pleasure. She's very versatile, switching between lifestyle/commercial and classy fashion easily. Her posing is elegant and graceful and she takes direction very well. She's also a lot of fun to work with: easygoing, relaxed and chatty. She's very good at working her look and her excellent wardrobe. Highly recommended!

Ever since looking through the fpi pages and seeing Marie a regular feature popping up every couple of weeks, I had to friend and follow. So it was fabulous news she was attending a local studio day, I had no hesitation to go along.

Marie is everything you expect from a Top Class model, so down to earth with it too, professional and witty, a great combination to get along with. I left excited to arrange a future location shoot with her, one thing for sure is you get the results!

I finally had to pleasure of working along side marie as a model on a fantastic shoot that she was the creative director for.

This was amazing for me because I have admired maries work for so long and have been a long time follower for a while now.

Marie is just amazing her organising skills are second to none and her modelling abilitys are incredible her facial expression are so expressive and she can pull of any look!

I really hope we can work together in 2018 because shes one of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure to meet!

I’m greatly honoured that Marie picked me as the first photographer to shoot her new hair style. As always I have nothing but praise for her work ethic and I always feel that I’m doing something right when ever I get a request for a collaboration with her. Thankfully Marie lives super close to me and we have some plans to shoot in the new year .

I contacted Marie on the strength of her Purpleport portfolio, particularly on her evident ability to be very flexible in her look. I wanted her for a series of photos relating to film stills, leading to some very clear and constructive communication in the days leading up to the shoot. Her enthusiasm for the idea communicated so well I began to be more enthusiastic myself.... Meeting her confirmed that she is an intelligent, reliable and resourceful model, and a joy to work with. Well, what can I say, Marie is a wicked model, she is also funny, chatty, lively and poses like a dream. I was really looking forward to our shoot and it more than lived up to my expectations. Marie was quite happy to move quickly and effortlessly through beauty, to editorial to being covered in clay and wrapped in cheesecloth - we got so many incredible shots in one day that I will be editing them for months. Simply cannot wait to work with Marie again and we are already in the early stages of planning our next shoot. Would say if you get the chance to work with Marie then grab it - you will not be disappointed. First class model who is already a firm favourite of mine.

It was my second shoot with Marie at York Photo Studio with 2 other photographers, after another great shoot on location in Leeds previously. Marie has prepared the styling with a whole wardrobe for this shoot and did her own make up to an excellent standard with many fantastic looks for the day. She has plenty of energy and was really fun to work with. We created many great images and can't wait to work on them.

Had my second shoot with Marie, over at the brilliant York Photographic Studio. I just cannot say enough about this lady. She is an absolute joy to work with.

Marie arrived at the studio with a fabulous wardbrobe, an abundance of energy, and she worked exceptionally hard for an all day shoot involving three photographers. As with all good things, the day passed far too quickly.

A third shoot is already on the cards, with a strong likelihood of further shoots beyond that.

If you are looking for a model who has her feet firmly on the floor, who puts her heart and soul into her work and who is prepared to go that extra mile without being asked, look no further than Marie.

Marie is a wonderfully expressive model - This was the first time I had worked with her and it certainly will not be the last.

Marie came well prepared for the all day shoot involving myself and two other photographers at the excellent York Photographic Studio.

By the end of the day we were all very pleased indeed at the quality and range of styles achieved due to the hard work and professionalism of Marie.

I highly recommend this model - book her as soon as you can.

I've just spent the morning working with the most expressive model which I have encountered to date.

It's very difficult to summarize just how good she is without getting carried away, so I will keep this brief...she's superb.

This was the first of two shoots which we had planned but after today's experience, there will be a third booked in the next couple of weeks, and subsequent shoots will be on the cards, no question about it.

I recommend her highly...very highly.
