Had my first shoot with Laurence recently, we had met before but never shot together so it was nice to finally do so at The Cottage Studio in Henfield. We worked through various different sets and the time just flew by, he's a great photographer to work with and we chatted throughout too which is always nice to break the ice on a first shoot.

I would highly recommend working with him, and do hope we get to work together again at some point.

laurence is a great chap - one of those individuals who understands that chatting and laughing is the best way to achieve super images. We talked more than we shot, but I feel sure the images were the better for it.

I had an amazing shoot with laurence at the cottage studio, i was dealing with my cat being sick and laurence was comprehensive and as an animal lover we immediately bonded over our love for cats, he was incredibly kind, social, and mindful, he madesure i was comfortable and he was truly respectful, a genuine nice person, i wouldn't hesitate to refer him to anyone, if you get a chance to shoot with him i would definitely take it

Ahhh Laurence is so lovely! I'd not seen him since pre-Covid but it was just like old times; Laurence is so friendly, and chatty, trustworthy and considerate. He'd brought some well chosen costumes with him and we mixed and matched with his stuff and mine, and we shot a wide variety of lovely images at the super location that he'd booked. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to other models and will certainly hope to work with him again myself.

I simply love working with Laurence! ☺️ We’ve shot in-person, we’ve shot remotely… We’ve managed to nail a whole range of different things over the multiple times our paths have crossed, and it was no surprise that yet more magic would occur during another epic remote session, this time in my studio!

The plan was to basically see what we could achieve in a more controlled/studio-like setting via remote with my different backdrops and available light/lighting equipment I have here. Last time we worked entirely at my home where my little tiger stole the show 🤣 of course we couldn’t shoot this time without incorporating Tigger even just for a few shots; but the main event was tackling some rather conventional neutral background looks. 😃 We were so blessed - the sun literally POURED in that day, it enabled us to achieve all kinds of striking (mainly entirely natural light) images from glowing portraits to gentle and dreamy lingerie. It’s normally hit-and-miss at this time of year with the sun, but whilst it was there we really jumped on it and basically took it for all that we could! 🌞 For some of the sets it was easy to reflect the strong sun back at me which gave a beautiful golden effect (quite like golden hour!) the settings can be tricky to get it just right but Laurence wasn’t phased, even when he wasn’t in the immediate vicinity. He put a lot of trust in me to run back and forth manoeuvring the reflector and trying to keep up with the shift of the sun… But by the end of that set he’d captured some fabulous expressions and mood - it was in the bag! 👌 We then switched to softer natural light which was a different look altogether, yet very nicely suited to some elegant lingerie and art nude images. Again - superb! Really flattering and pretty pictures created in this set, one of which (on my port) is probably one of my all-time remotely taken images! Before leaving the studio, we did a quick set with controlled lighting against the black backdrop for an edgier tone on what we’d been doing. Of course we went for a kitty cat theme! 😜 Laurence loves the fur babies, so it was a must-do to feature my newest feline accessory; a leopard mask! Said mask was also sported for the last and final set when I nipped up to my house in a bid for Tigger to say hi to Laurence for the final few pictures. He quickly munched the Dreamies and wandered off mind you! 🤣 Still - more funky cat-like shenanigans on the stairs, what’s not to love! Completely opposite to the concepts we’d shot on our previous remote, still just as productive!

Even on a virtual shoot I always have a lot of fun working with this gentleman. He’s got great humour, a wondrously inspired interest in the arts and performance, he’s a minion of the cat underworld, and just a jolly nice guy! 😁 Professionalism routinely on-point as well: you won’t find anyone with more ideal etiquette for establishing a positive creative work space… An absolute heart made of gold! Always feel so at ease shooting with him, and always find myself recommending him time and time again!

I do hope to see Laurence again soon before too long! He’s just awesome! ☺️

I had a lovely remote session with Laurence last week at my home studio. My second remote shoot with Laurence and he was an absolute pleasure to work with.

We shot arrange of styles and looks and Laurence was patient, good company and good fun throughout the session.

It was such a pleasure to shoot with Laurence again after a long break. Laurence has become a good friend over the years, and this makes getting together to shoot again at last extra special. I am finally returning to studio shoots after a long time out, and shoots like this make me realise how much I have missed it. Laurence is so lovely to spend time with, so easy to chat to, and among all of that we also make time to create some lovely images too. Thank you so much Laurence, I can't wait until next time :)

I had a lovely time shooting with Laurence for one hour as part of our Bohemian Bloom REMOTE event. It was my first time working with him, but he had introduced himself in advance via email and shared the sort of work and styles he likes to focus on which was helpful.

Laurence was easy going, friendly and professional, we got on well and produced some gorgeous images together. I hope to work with him in person some time too :-)

Laurence is so chilled, calm, happy- you can't go wrong! He always sorts things quickly and during the shoot is respectful fun and laid back- I couldn't ask for more!

Yayyyyy - we’ve shot in person AND remotely now! :D Laurence contacted me expressing and interest in the remote revolution that has taken form during the pandemic, I was sooo happy that he was down for giving it a go and could relate to his feeling about it from the start to the present as it was all new to us and; when you know you have a good rapport when working face-to-face (which you believe to be partly due to actually being in the same room as that person) then it can be a very strange shift to indeed make. But you know what: we had a good giggle, caught up on one another’s creative interests/journeys and took some absolutely INSANE pictures... I believe that virtually the main boxes ticked for a successful shoot with someone who you already know to be a lovely, enthusiastic and decent person to work with. :D

Laurence was superb with his communications (as always!) We got a date and time fixed for our remote shoot in just a short few emails and all the admin bits and pieces taken care of nice and early. :) Of course as a fellow cat disciple: Laurence put the message forward for “his lordship” to join in the shoot... It took some negotiations with Dreamies and Catnip but we did indeed get some gorgeous duo shots with Tigget too! 😂 So all went to plan - and the day was as successful as the planning and prep: all of which had always been such a breeze in the history of us working together. Laurence is just a star on that front - no doubt about it.

On the day - Laurence was open to a good teamwork flow and contribution from all sides. He appreciated that, because we were shooting at my home, that I had a good idea of which areas worked well/the lighting possibilities etc. But after the obligatory “virtual tour” Laurence was also spinning with imagination in his own head and highlighting areas of interest to him. Working togetherness and batting ideas off each other is always such a good way forward - and Laurence literally always respects and values what models can bring to shoots, no matter what the arrangement. :) And so we were off! I ended up shooting in angles that I’d not done before - and we got super savvy with the styling of the rooms too! I think all the creative energy in the universe was just going nuts for us haha! :P Every set though was magnificent - and Laurence (even though it was just his second ever remote) nailed it! Especially at the end when we relied heavily on natural light coming through the window - changing every flippin’ second as it does here in Yorkshire. :P He took it all in his stride and we didn’t rush - he initiated reviews of what we were getting where needed to make sure we were happy. As I said: we just nailed every set! Laurence has so kindly given me permission already to post some of the work we did and I just don’t know where to begin! There were many corkers from the day, and much variety achieved in the half day we worked through.

Same as before (and likely stated in every other one of Laurence’s references!) He’s a true gentleman. He has a heart of gold and is just the epitome of empathetic, courteous and genuine. I always feel so at ease when we shoot together - and nothing at all was different about this time either. :) I look so much forward to working with him again (be it remote, or when we can shoot in person again!) And I recommend him soooo highly!

I was really chuffed when Laurence messaged me wanting to do his first remote shoot! :D I appreciate for many the idea is quite daunting (it was for me) so when photographers pick me to try it with first it's really quite lovely!!

As has been said all along, remote shoots are not a replacement for 'in person shoots' but, as has been proved now over and over- they are a fabulous and creative alternative while we are unable to shoot face to face.

Laurence had outlined a few ideas for our shoot, genres and areas he wanted to try. He was also happy to listen to my input on the themes too :)

The time flew by and I am very happy with the results.

It was so nice to have a good catch up as well as a creative shoot!! Top marks for best photographer t-shirt yet too!!

I had another awsome shoot with laurence at the cottage studio...... what can I say..... but what a guy!! I always really love worki g with Laurence, we get so into our conversations and we always find we have so much in common,Laurence is a super caring and super awsome! He loves his cats and not only loves his photography but also cares a great deal about others and the cats protection to, which in fact is who I heard about them from :) i wouldnt hesitate to work with laurence and i cant wait to work with him again :) always brings a smile and also grapes :) i also brought grapes this time so we had plenty to go around haha xx

I had a great shooting with Laurence again! We were in The Cottage Studio and we could shoot with the pole! I haven’t had many opportunity to do pole shooting before so I was really happy with it!

And it’s so easy to work with Laurence! He is very nice, creative and he has good eyes for perspectives and angels! It’s always pleasure to working with him! I can just recommend!

I had a lovely shoot with Laurence while at ''Back to the 70s'' event in Hacienda studio and hopefully we will be able to work together again one day!

Laurence is such an amazing person to work with! He was really polite and respectful and at the same time it was great to chat with him as he's so friendly and easy going:) Images we created had definitely that 70s vibe as Laurence worked hard to achieve this result. Working with Laurence was a real pleasure, we had a really great time working together, chatting and having a good laugh:)

I couldn't believe it had been 2 years since I last worked with the lovely Laurence! As soon as I arrived it felt like no time had passed at all. Laurence is a true pleasure to shoot with. He is always full of ideas, but he is also happy to entertain model's ideas too - something which I really appreciate. Laurence is also incredibly relaxed, very kind hearted and an altogether lovely human being.

Of course I whole heartedly recommend working with Laurence, and can't wait until we get to shoot together again - thank you Laurence!

This was only the second time I’ve worked with the lovely Laurence, but it feels like we’ve shot many more times for some reason! :D Definitely for good reason because he’s wonderful company on shoots, so full of drive and interest to create and a real joy to chat with about literally all sorts! The venue of our choice this time was Cottage Studios all the way “darn Sarff” and Laurence planned the shoot early with superb comms enabling me to actually build up a Southern tour around our shoot. :) But that is Laurence all-over, he’s tremendously organised with his shoots and it’s all sorted nice and early. What a star! He was even super helpful on the day in fact because I’d had some morning work moved which would have left me hanging around until our afternoon shoot - we chatted on the phone and with Brian the studio owner and everyone was happy to crack on a couple of hours before our initial scheduled time. Never an issue either way, but it meant I could hit the motorway for my 4 hour drive home a little earlier... Then again I would t expect anything less of Laurence; he’s just so kind, easy going and happy to help in any way he can. :) I love working with him!

It’s great fun catching up and chattering with this gent, and we did a great deal of this in-between making pictures... He does all kinds of creative pursuits so his stories about what he’s been up to are just brilliant! :D And any photographer who is really fond of kitty cats is officially a very high-standing person anyway! :P Do yes indeed, the pace was relaxed and easy going (even though some of the sets we did were quite energetic!) shooting with Laurence in general is guaranteed to be a non-pressured and laid back event with the kettle clicking periodically, and laughs occurring on regular intervals. In addition to the positive social element of the shoot; Laurence deserves endless credit for being the nicest person you could ever cross paths with in the little model/photographer bubble. :) He has colossal professionalism and courteous mindfulness in his approach and values the work that models do exceptionally high. I would shout it every day of the week: Laurence is a safe and veeeerrrrrrryyy highly recommended by me photographer to enjoy a blast of creativity with. And I do hope that we have more shoots in the future too! :D

The ideas that were rolling off and bouncing all around escalated very quickly with a fabulous rapport (just as before!) The studio offered a number of facilities for us to try different things which spurred on the thinking-caps... Of course the other (yes another reason that Laurence is awesome) nice thing about Laurence is that he has a good idea of what he likes in an image, but then strives to combine that to what each model can bring to a shoot. So you truly are working together with values like that of a collaboration. :) Laurence our up with me running around suggesting “this outfit with this” and then “this too” ...Goodness he really does deserve an award of some description. But he took every set in his stride and we fired away exquisite sculptural nudes, Hollywood style portraits, acrobatic fashion. It was a shoot that just kept giving and giving! :D This chap has all manner of things to think about as we moved from one concept to the next, but he nailed it nonetheless! Lovely angles, prop suggestions, getting down with all the technicalities... It’s all glamorous this photography malarkey until you see the sheer effort that those involved go to!
