There's so much I could say about Andy and Kempston Studio. It's my favourite studio for a reason. Kempston is a space packed with so many props, sets and backdrops, a photographers dream. There's so much you can do with it. The dressing room is packed full of extra clothing and shoes and is even equipped with sanitary products. There's nothing I can say that hadn't been said before.

What really makes the place is Andy. He is such a welcoming and beautiful character that makes you feel so safe and welcome. He's genuine, he's professional and has created such a safe space.

This was the first studio I ever shot and I keep coming back for a reason. I can't recommend more.

I had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon at Kempston, the first of many, I imagine. Andy has a veritable Aladin's Cave of goodies in his studio, you could set up for just about anything. And is on-hand when needed, keeps the coffee going too. The only downer was the return trip, which was detoured due to flooding, Hopefully, the roads will dry out before next time. :)

As always, Andy was very helpful in the studio and I had my first experience using gobos in the lighting. I arrived late due to traffic disruption, but still had a great shoot. A well equipped studio with a range of props and clothing for the models, I can recommend it thoroughly.

Kempston studio is truly a gem of excellence and quality a superb studio where the list of shooting ideas and sets is endless so many things to shoot and let your creative ideas flow as for the studio the lighting setups gels lightwall and softboxes are top notch the studio is so warm friendly and inviting and a pleasure to shoot in and the person who brings this studio to the top is Andy who is so knowledgeable of what works and what doesnt and always on hand to help at the drop of a hat to change things round nothing is much trouble Andy is so genuine a perfect studio owner who makes sure you leave the studio with amazing images always willing to add input and constructive help if needed from camera setup or lights to clothing

This studio must be on top of your list to shoot at if you havent don't delay the diamond of studio is waiting for you

WOW, what a shoot!

Andy is a gem. And boy, does he have talent!

I came to test shoot and we made magic. Andy is so easy to get along with, enjoys a chat and is very open about the work. The studio is smaller than some I have worked in but it's such a beauitful space with a full wardrobe, great dressing room and some amazing, unusual props.

Andy and I will definitely be working together again soon - that's for sure!

I had a another fab studio day at Kempston Studio! The day was really well organised and the set up the studio was perfect for the gothic/horror theme we were going for. Andy is always on hand to support the photographers and models where needed. He made sure that I was comfortable at all times, and if there was anything I needed.

The facilities are excellent, with a dressing room and shower, which I had to use as I had a lot of fake blood to clear up. There are lots of accessories and props if needed and lots of different backdrops and set ups accommodating many different styles.

Highly recommend Kempston Studio.

If you haven't been to this studio then you are missing out!

The studio is full of great props, has masses of lighting equipment (soft boxes etc) but the person that brings this all together is Andy the owner: he has an awesome knowledge of lighting, what works and whats doesn't, is always on hand to assist as and when necessary.

Andy is always very welcoming, chatty and ready to offer assistance at the drop off a hat. The Studio has a superb reputation and deservedly so!

I did my first duo studio day with Kelsey at Kempston studio and it couldn't have gone better. Andy was very accommodating, helpful and efficient at organising lights and sets. He also kept me and Kelsey giggling with his music 😆

The studio is one of my favourite as you can do so much in it, different styles, sets, and lighting options.

I hosted my first studio day at Kempston yesterday and what a day it was! Andy's pre-comms are exemplary so I knew exactly who had booked, where to find the studio and even what kind of milk I wanted in my coffee! Everything on the day went smoothly thanks to Andy's cheerful demeanour, endless drinks and excellent lighting. I've never seen a relatively small space used in such a clever way, with various sets folded away behind walls and other very clever tricks - inspiration for my own studio, I'm sure! The photographers were respectful and clearly think highly of both the space and Andy, and I felt appreciated and respected throughout the day. We are discussing another date in November and I'm looking forward to it already. Highly recommended!

Kempston studio is an absolute hidden treasure trove of props, backdrops, set ups, facilities and equipment and that's without even discussing Andy himself. Andy had reached out to me to see if I'd be willing to make the trip up to Bedford from Dorset and Im so glad he did! Not only is his studio one of the most versatile studios I've ever been to and seems to have no end to the possibility of what you can create, but Andy was a gentleman the whole time. Being attentive to those photographers who needed a little bit more support, and allowing those who wanted their freedom to be left alone and more often than not, finding the balance between the two. His incredible knowledge of lighting and what resides within his studio allowed for set changes to be quick and accurate, allowing the photographer and I to make the use of the time that had been booked. He clearly has a fantastic relationship with all his local photographers and the hard work that has gone into creating the studio and its reputation is evident. If you have the opportunity to work at Kempston Studio, i would not pass it up as you will get some fantastic images, meet some lovely tog's and have your bar for studios raised higher than you thought it could be!

Just completed a brilliant shoot at the studio with resident model Kate Star. I have visited and utilised the space on several previous occasions both on model days and workshops, always a great location to work within. Both communication and booking time in the studio is always very professional and always an extremely easy process. This was the first personal booking I have undertaken and was more determined to make use of what is on offer, and that I definitely achieved. The versatility of the space is second to none and Andy's help and assistance was always offered and greatly received, I undoubtably always feel very welcome. I have two further bookings at the studio in October, once again model day and workshop, but very much intend to book for personal projects in the future, many thanks for a brilliant day.

An Eye for Beauty

I have just come home from 3 shoot days at Kempston which I shared with Somersetman, and a total of 5 different models. I had booked everything up and was hoping that all the parts would fall together - and they did! When I first walked into the studio I felt somewhat fazed because there was so much 'stuff' in a relatively small space, but over the dozen shoot hours I saw magical transformations, and a 'tardis' of many parts. This was all thanks to Andy who worked really hard to 'scene shift' almost constantly with 2 photographers and 2 models working concurrently. It was amazing, and I have come home with many different and excellent shots. It will take me the rest of August to select and edit!

Grateful thanks to Andy whose hearing was so keen that some idea only had to be muttered sotto voce, for it to be brought to pass. He was incredibly welcoming and helpful, and seems to have almost every conceivable prop and costume somewhere, including a bath, and a snow machine.

It is a lengthy journey by road to get Bedford from home in Somerset, and it may be my only adventure, but next year I am really going to investigate rail travel. With a handy Premier Inn, it would be a lovely repeat. Meanwhile, thanks Andy, for a splendid few days of shoot time, and excellent company.

Had a brilliant 3 hours in Kempston studio today and as usual was made to feel totally at home.

Andy is so welcoming and makes every model feel safe and looked after.

I was in the studio with another model today and two photographers and Andy went above and beyond for each person in the studio, steaming clothes for models, setting up for both photographers and assisting both models when we needed help throughout the shoot. Probably got tired of hearing his own name by the end of the 3 hours.

Every time I’m in the studio some item of clothing is altered or destroyed to create an outfit that is desired for the shoot and it just shows that he really does want everyone in the studio to get the exact shots that they want and will go out of his way to help.

Terrible dad jokes aside, I never get tired of coming into the studio and can’t wait to be back in!

What a little gem of a studio! Truly an Aladdin's cave of possibilities, with every square inch put to use. Combined with Andy's boundless energy and knowledge of where everything is, it can be transformed in myriad ways designed to inspire.

A warm welcome, a constant supply of first rate tea, and help on tap in an instant (if not sooner) made for a highly productive and exhilarating ten hours of shooting over 3 days.

I remain in awe of how just well the studio works, even with 5 of us in it! Congratulations Andy on creating something truly unique, and thank you once again for your tireless energy and assistance.
