Had my first studio day recently at Kempston Studio with Kelly Hathaway and what a fab studio it is, with various different options for sets to use as well as a large array of props and outfits to use as well. Andy is great, nothing is too much trouble for him and he's there if you need him but also happy to stay out of the way if not. I was actually gutted that wasn't able to stay for the whole weekend as I had double booked myself for the second day so could only do one day... but I will be back!!

I would highly recommend using this studio and looking forward to going back again at some point.

Yet another fantastic session with Andy where I'd booked a slot for a duo shoot with Kelly & Leah.

Putting aside the fact that the studio is very conveniently located just 10 minutes from my home, the variety of sets, props & fantastic array of lighting equipment allow photographers an almost unlimited scope for creativity.

Andy is there to offer advice and readily available to assist in setting up lighting or to move furniture around as required then leaves you to get on with it!

The atmosphere is always friendly and the banter flows as freely as the tea or coffee!

I've shot at Kempston Studio several times now, always a very positive & rewarding experience and have no hesitation in recommending to photographers of all levels of expertise.

Yet another very successful and creative shoot at Kempston - this time with Miss Diamond Sparkle (again!)

I followed through on a couple of creative ideas Andy had suggested - with fantastic success and to the delight of Gemma who was blown away by the resultant images.

As always Andy set up the perfect lighting sets and assisted throughout with practical help, further suggestions, encouragement and improvements.

Nothing is too much trouble.

The three-way banter made for a most enjoyable session and we got some great images.

ANdy will be involved as much or as little as you want in your shoot - but personally I always appreciate the extra help and suggestions and most definitely the extra help with what are often fairly complicated scenarios.

It most definitely adds to the final images and I am always greateful for the extra input.

He also has a great way with models, making them feel totally safe and looked after - and aside altogether from being just a decent way to be, I have no doubt that it greatly contributes to a relaxed atmosphere and greater creativity.

Unreservedly recommended - and I already must have at least half a dozen further bookings........

Andy came up with some incredible ideas for Des (Incident Light) and it not only worked really well but it gave us lots of laughs and giggles...

Time goes quick when I shoot here...

SO, if you want to have fun and produce amazing images at the same time then this is probably the place you should go haha...

Andy has built up quite a reputation! Andy assisted, guided and does everything to make sure my shoots go went as well as possible. Oh - and the cuppa's and chocolates are Devine :)

This was my 2nd visit to the studio but my first full day at Kempston. Andy was an amazing host as seems to be the norm... always checking I was happy, the photographers were happy, changing sets when requested, playing DJ and making numerous cups of coffee!

Andy is an absolute delight and makes such a professional yet welcoming environment. I would absolutely not hesitate to recommend Andy and Kempston Studio to anyone and everyone. Top class!! If you can put up with me I hope to become a regular! xx

THE BEST STUDIO! Andy you are an angel. I had my very own studio day and duo day again here at Kempston and it’s always an enjoyable experience. Andy is always there to make sure that everything is flowing smoothing and safely. No matter who is in the studio we always try to make it different and fun, playing with sets and props. Such a homely studio and the best food round the corner at the cafe for lunch:)

Once again another EXCEPTIONAL experience at Kempston, Andy very kindly hosted myself and miss April in the studio for a couple of nights as we ran awesome days with the studio, shot close by and had an amazing couple of days!

Back on July for another few days and I can not wait! The studio as many have said it one unique and adaptable space, Andy is alright too 😉

Shot here recently on a studio day. Very welcoming, helpful owner Andy; on hand but not in the way and a great setup. Really wide variety of options for a studio with well thought out props.

I arrived at the studio and was immediately shown the sets available. During my shoot I used several sets and the owner was happy to change things around for me to get the effects I wanted. The studio is versatile yet surprisingly compact given it's range of sets. I felt that nothing was too much trouble, and both studio and model were only too happy to try to help me get the shots I wanted.

Had a shoot here with the lovely IronB - and Andy allowed us to make a real mess with a vegetable/fruit shoot and water-melon smash which was amazing.

Alisha got covered in fruit and juices of all kinds and Andy not only provided the perfect setting and lighting set-up but also a tethered shoot so we could see in real-time what it looked like.

It was a complex shoot and Andy was instrumental in helping direct and organise props and ensure that everything was in place at the right times and that the images were turning out right as well as looking after our model - some serious involvement.

It all went amazingly well and it was a most enjoyable and productive session - many thanks Andy!

Most definitely highly recommended and I am shooting here again later in the week.

Another superb shoot at Kempston Studio, this time with Rosedame. Time, as usual, flew by, and we tried a few things. A first for me was using studio LED lighting. Any set the light up, and I must confess thst I really enjoyed using it..we got some superb images using this lighting. To me, that is one of the best parts of using Kempston Studio, Andy has loads of different things to try out, and is always on hand to build the sets and set up the lights, leaving the photographer to arrange the light position and intensity etc. Always a great help to me, I can well recommend Andy and Kempston Studio to any level of photographer. Thanks Andy, another superb studio session.

Another easy couple of hours shooting at Kempston. Every thing ran like clockwork from start to finish. Achieving the images you want is no problem there. Will be back soon, highly recommended Studio to work at.

Organised Chaos

This is the 6th time I have visited Kempston Studios & I will be going there regularly as though I am in St Albans & there may well be other studios closer I would & do feel I have found the perfect studio for me to go to.Andy the studio owner has such a vast amount of knowledge & this is because he really cares about photography & this is a true passion for him & this knowledge he shares & teaches to those like me as he wants to see you progress make better images so really this fits to what I look to do which is to become much better at photography.

The studio has so many different sets & props it really is so full of choices that your mind is just constantly inspired & this is not by accident this is done by Andy who is always looking at bringing in new props.

Thankyou Andy for all the tutoring & guidance to get the improvement I can identify in the images.

Organised Chaos

Shoot Number 7 at the ever comfy,happy,brilliant most excellent Kempston Studios which are made all these things because of the owner Andy.

Andy is simply brilliant as he is such a most excellent personality he is teaching me light settings,camera settings everything that a new hobbyist needs to know & goes that extra few in helping you to better including advice on lenses,Photoshop,photographer awareness of things such as models clothing labels,straps that maybe missed but later on you would notice & your image would not be as you had wanted.

I worked with Rosedame this time & again my learning curve is greatly accelerated because of 3 things which are Andy,the studio & all it has to offer including clothing,props,plenty of lighting & the excellent models.

Thankyou Andy look forward to the next visit.

Had another shoot here this time with Kitty Dawson on her studio day.

As always Andy was on hand to set up perfect lighting scenarios and scenes and to keep everything running smoothly and see that the model was always well looked after.

He is always ready to suggest additional possibilities and alternative strategies and improvements and nothing is too much trouble.

Another great session with great results and most enjoyable into the bargain. I have another session booked shortly.

I don’t know what I’ve already said before, but this is seriously and incredibly a versatile studio, with a professional and friendly owner.

The owner is very skilled in lighting set ups, sets, photography and creativity in general, Andy is always very helpful and lovely :)

I always enjoy shooting here and I look forward to being back in the near future.

First time using Kempston Studio and what can I say was amazing studio and Andy was helpful throughout the whole shoot allowing me to move props and reorganising the sets to get images I wanted to get .

The studio itself is so versatile and ana amazing space to work with all the sets and props and the lighting make a photographers Aladdin's cave.

Will definitely need to organise more shoots at Kempston Studio as the time I had with the model was not enough to expand on all the others creative ideas we both were coming up with in the studio .
