After an unfortunate cancellation due to model sickness, John contacted me and asked if I fancied a shoot at Basford Hurst Cottage - of course I said yes!!! He emailed me with lots of ideas for the shoot and I knew it was going to be a lot of fun!!!

Shooting with John is like a magical mystery tour!!! You never know quite what might happen....!! On this shoot alone we shot in the dining room with some 'dinner guests' ... A suitably fun 60's set with lots of dresses and props.... A classy ball gown on the spiral stairs... And finally a more gothic / horror set in the woodland surrounded by severed heads ...... !!!

John is always polite, friendly and a good laugh!! I have an absolute blast shooting with John and I highly reccomend him!!! Thank you once again John!! See you soon!! :D

John contacted me to ask about a shoot at Antwerp Mansion - Having shot with John a few times I knew I was in for another mad adventure and I wasn't wrong!!

I met John at his house and then he drove us to Antwerp - After a quick tour around we began shooting. We started with an Egyptian look with a helmet taken from the set of Lord of the Rings, got a sword involved for some crazy cellar shots and finally some Gangster shots by a Jaguar!! Needless to say, shoots with John are never boring!!!

I was so pleased with the BOC images and I cannot wait to see the finished edits!!

John as always comes highly recommended from me and I look forward to seeing him again soon!! Thank you John!!

I’ve shot with John many times and he’s always bringing his amazing energy with him. A great shoot and good to catch up as it’s been a while. We got some great images and I will look forward to working together again next year.

John attended my event at Basfordhurst cottage last weekend. He’s a very quirky character, easy to get on with and a pleasure to have around.

Would i reccomend John? ... hmmmm.

Well , if he doesnt scare you off with his museum of crazy and arty characters , he is deffinatley worth having around !!!

John blew my mind with this weekends shoot !! and hes got the wet socks to proove it haha !!!

He felt like represnting a pirate on todays shoot, with kind of rockstar trosuers haha!! He looked very cool if i say so myself .

He brought his boom box with a cracking playlist and we were just banging off the awesome shots in the pool room !! Dancing and shooting .. aww hes a character i tell you !!!

Iv worked with John many a times over the years and everytime i leave shooting with him with a smile on my face !! He is just brilliant !

I am still waiting for the images haha..but im sure its worth the wait .

I first met John on the UK Calendar Girls casting day in May. There was a lot of other girls there, but we managed to get some great pictures and this helped me to secure my place in the 2024 Calendar.

I shot with John again in October to create some images for the actual calendar. Pre-communications was great. We used Johns home studio to create images. The pictures are outstanding! I would definitely recommend John to both new and experienced models, he’s very kind & very professional.

I had another fantastic shoot with John and not the last one!

All communication before the shoot was brilliant. The plans changed quite a few times because of the trains strike, weather etc, but we managed it very well :) and the shoot went brilliantly.

John picked me up from the station and we went to the very cool location with so many great sets which we used for the shoot.

I really enjoyed working with John it is always great fun and very creative :)

I had the most amazing shoot with John. We created some unbelievable images,which I can't wait to share. John was professional, very easy to get on with and I felt so comfortable, which made the shoot so enjoyable. I highly recommend and hope to shoot again together in the future.

John and I have worked together on getting images to be featured on my month in a calendar. We shot twice throughout the process.

Our first time we shot at his studio. John had a range of ideas for our shoot aswell as different settings and props for us to work with. He also provided pizza and garlic bread to keep us on the go - extra points for this!

Our second shoot was outdoors at an abandoned warehouse. The weather was against us that day but it didnt stop us getting to work and creating some awesome images together.

Both times, communication beforehand was great. John was friendly and professional, made sure I felt comfortable throughout and gave great direction.

I highly recommend John and already have another shoot booked in with him!

I absolutely love shooting with John, he is so creative and this time we shot everything from a cowgirl on the ranch, to some beauty portraits in a long floaty dress.

Basford Hurst Cottage Photography Location

John came to Basford Hurst Cottage to attend a Charity event hosted and organised by Lottiirose.

John arrived on time with everything he needed for the shoot. He worked incredibly hard with all the models, making sure to capture many amazing images throughout the day.

John was incredibly respectful of the models and his fellow photographers and I heard nothing but glowing reports all day!! He was also very respectful of our location.

I would have no hesitation to recommend John and I hope to see him again soon!! Thank you John!!

I had the chance to work with John at the group photoshoot to raise money for Crohn's Disease. This event was organised by Lotti Rose at Basford Hurst.

He was fantastic to work with, he had some good ideas and I could tell he was confident with his photography which made me feel comfortable too!

We got a variety of shots throughout the location and I was able to input my own ideas too which was awesome!

I had a lovely day and I'm really grateful I got the opportunity to work with him even for a short time!

I had the chance to shoot with John during a charity event hosted by Lottii Rose at the Basford Hurst studio.

During the shoot we created a couple of different character/themes and the shoot was great fun! John is a relaxed but creative photographer, with a nice style and an eye for detail....I would recommend him and would have absolutely no hesitation working with him again!

Whacky, unique and slightly eccentric! John can bring any shoot to life from one style to the next. Props? Oh believe me, John has that covered too. What a blast we have. I was thrilled to see him there as we’ve worked together several times in the past and you can’t tire of Johns ideas. There’s always something new and full of life.

Basford Hurst Cottage Photography Location

After a few spontaneous messages John organised a shoot at Basford Hurst Cottage with studio owner Miss C.

Having met John previously on an event with Lottii Rose, it was a pleasure to welcome him back to Basford Hurst Cottage. John is a wonderful man, easy to talk to, polite and fun to have around.

John brings with him a vast variety of gothic and steam punk props, outfits and attire and has a real passion for his work!! He is clearly an incredible photographer and pays a great amount of attention to detail.

John was completely respectful of our location and I would have no hesitation to recommend him. Welcome back to Basford anytime!! Highly recommended by us!!
