John contacted Basford about a last minute booking and enquired if I was available for the morning... Of course, I said YES!!

To say I was excited to shoot with John was an understatement!! Having met him before he is an incredible creative with sooo much to bring to a shoot!! When I met John in the morning he had brought a vast array of gothic and steam punk outfits, props and accessories!! I didn't know where to begin!! This genre was completely new to me but I thoroughly enjoyed every minute!!!

John is a fantastic photographer and really pays attention to detail - He is clearly incredibly knowledgeable and made the smallest of adjustments to really nail THAT SHOT!!

I received an edited image on the evening of the shoot and I am sooo thrilled!! After seeing the back of the camera I cannot wait to see more from this shoot!!

I would absolutely recommend John to work with, he's got a smashing personality, is easy to talk to and allowed me to pose freely whilst also making suggestions of his own along the way!! Thanks John! Looking forward to the next shoot!! :D

Another wonderful shoot with my fellow gothic creative John!

This time we went way of track from our usual gothic attire and hit Portmeirion for a vintage 1960's day in some of the well know locations from The Prisoners tv series and John even got the old Mote Vehicle down to shoot with from the show itself.

We shot a variety of 1960's attire from funky black and white vintage on the Chess boards, to the glamorous gowns down the sea front on the boat. Overall I have a delightful day both shooting and in good company, we have even discussed our return!

100% Would recommend :)

Got some awesome shots using a mixture of natural light and flash lights - which looked awesome and shot a range of outfits and levels (all of which were respected)

Basford Hurst Cottage Photography Location

John came to Basford Hurst Cottage to shoot with Lottiirose on her sold out studio day.

Pre comms with John were great and everything was organised easily. John arrived on time with so many exciting props to use for the shoot including some incredible steam punk items!!!

John is a really lovely photographer, he's easy to talk to, polite and very respectful of his model and our location.

I have no hesitation to recommend John and would happily welcome him back to Basford anytime!! Thank you John!!

I shot with John on location today– it was top-secret, but take it from me. It was a fabulous location that was brilliantly scouted and suited to our needs. When picking the location, John really has the model in mind, there was access to a toilet block where I could change and he was really considerate throughout the shoot of breaks & understanding of how hot it was in certain outfits!! His pre-comms were also brilliant with detailed instructions on how to get to the location – which was needed, as it was quite remote as well as clear desires, for the outfits, without pushing levels/ suggesting impractical things!

I had met John briefly on a group she previously, but was able to chat to him properly today, and I realised what a nice guy he is, we chatted away about anything and everything.. we shot for five hours and honestly did not feel like it ! Got lots of ideas for shoots over the summer and beyond that I hope will happen soon, highly recommended, thanks, John!

I think it was our sixth shoot and another location -Vauhaus studio in Manchester.

All communication before the shoot was super easy with important information, etc.

It is always great to work with John as he is a super easy and cool guy 😎 and always brings some extraordinary outfits for the shoot, which I'm really enjoying as the images are not boring !

John is a great photographer with great skills and is always looking for the best composition.

I can highly recommend him, and I'm looking forward to working with him again when I'll be in the North.

I worked with John on my studio day at the wonderful VauHausHQ this week.

A wonderful shoot again with John, this time we did a full day's shoot in my own home. John arrived very well prepared, he brought everything with him we could possibly need. He swiftly set up a studio in my dining room, he also brought with him a fabulous set of back drops. I love his creativity and imagination, we obviously got carried away and shot extra fabulous images we hadn't planned and they are the best. Thank you so much for all your patience and hard work. I highly recommend John to all models.

Had the pleasure of shooting and posing with John last night at the group shoot at Theme Studios. John makes any shoot great fun usually from behind the camera but last night he joined me on set as James Bond. I was slightly worried he'd outshine me! I'm looking forward to shooting with John again very soon and I recommend him to any other models.

Had a shoot with John and another model doing GG at my home. John came prepared with lots of props and lighting. John is a gentleman very chatty and a full of character. Shoot went smooth and I can't wait to see the results.

I met John at his home studio in Manchester on my tour and what a great day it was!

Pre coms were excellent and I knew exactly what was expected of the shoot as I was sent a detailed shoot plan in advance.

John is always full of ideas and very creative in his work which made the shoot fun and different to some other styles I’ve usually shot.

He is friendly and professional. No dull moments and was considerate of me throughout the shoot if I needed a snack etc. John had used various different lighting affects, smoke machine, bubble machine, candles you name it! To get some epic images,

Best dressed photographer hands down!

John always turns up with humour, good style and grace and I always look forward to shooting together. Such a fabulous fun person to be around and he’s taken plenty of stunning photos of me. I've had the pleasure to work with John on many occasions now, mainly in group settings, with the latest being Peaky Blinder's 1930s event organised by the lovely Everly Rose.

John is always such a character, fun and a pleasure to work with.

Long overdue second shoot with John at Antwerp mansion.

It was a pleasure to shoot with him again and I look forward to seeing the final images as we did some absolute stunners!

John as always was a complete gentlemen throughout the entire 5 hour shoot and the time flew by. We had so many ideas flowing and each one was better than the last.

Had my first shoot with John at Studio37. John is an amazing creative character, his enthusiasm and fun style are contagious. I was more than happy to wear the outfits he brought and try and achieve his vision.

I love working with John when he comes to the group shoots I model. So when he asked me if I’d like to do a 1-2-1 at Antwerp mansion I was thrilled! What a brilliant day we had! John is so talented, he makes adjusting his lights for the perfect shot look easy, no messing just straight to it. He is brilliant at directing, full of energy and uniquely creative making the images have the wow factor. The ones I’ve received already are amazing, I’m absolutely over the moon with them. John was a gentleman throughout and respected my levels. He’s one of the photographers who’s actually extremely talented and professional but also treats his models exceptionally well. I so can not wait for another shoot. If you get the chance to shoot with John then grab it with both hands, you’ll not regret it.

If you would like to shoot with a photographer that is full of crazy ideas and knows how to implement them then John is for you. Prior to the shoot John was very helpful with shoot ideas for the shoot at Antwerp Mansion.

He has a funky cool personality and was fun to work with. He has ideas and visions and is very creative.

It helped that he is a professional knew all about lighting, how to make the images look fabolous.

He also helped with model direction and was fun to work with we had many laughs and got so many photos.

Can't wait to see the edits.

Would love to work with John again and highly recommend him.

Will definitely reschedule something into the diary and bring a few of my alternative models and we will create amazing images again :)

Also anterwerp mansion hosts were lovely friendly and professional. I am lucky to have the opportunity to shoot in such amazing venues.

I attended studio 37 to model for the group shoot, John was one of the photographers attending which I was thrilled about. I’ve worked with John quite a few times now and it’s always an absolute pleasure! He’s so creative, and has such a unique style when shooting it’s so refreshing and nice to mix things up in group shoots. He’s a fun very kind person with a wickedly awesome dress sense. We already have future plans which I can not wait for.

Highly recommended by me to other models and studios too.
