I’ve just had an excellent E-Shoot with Angel Black and her partner J Black Photographic. The service from initial enquiry to receiving the results, just 24 hrs later, was faultless. The communications were excellent so both knew exactly what I was looking for and delivered precisely what I wanted. Overall a fantastic, well organised and imaginative experience given the current constraints. Well done Angel and J Black Photographic. The quality of the images is brilliant.

I replied to a casting with J Black and Angel Black who were offering e-shoots during lockdown.

I wanted some images that I could process in the style of Helmut Newton and was really impressed with the images I received.

They were of a high quality and also exactly as I had described when discussing the inspiration behind the shots.

I applied, due to the lock down, to do an eShoot with J Black via his partner, Angel Black UK. I sent Angel a mood board and discussed the theme with her. She then sent me back images from the shoot with the images taken by J Black for me to edit. The images sent are beautiful, exactly what I had wanted from the mood board. The images appear to have been constructed thoughtfully and professionally and have a lovely subtlety to them which is wonderful. Thanks very much - J Black and his eShoots are definitely recommended by me.

I responded to J and Angel Black's casting for an e-shoot. From conception to the results it was a fantastic experience and well worth pursuing.

I'm a big admirer of J's work so I consider myself very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with him. His imagery is always artistic without being self-indulgent, technically flawless, without being clinical. I've been fortunate enough to meet J several times now and I always find it a bit of life lesson to see him in full flow - there's a real craft and process to the way he works; professional, calm, but with an eye for subtlety.

I completely recommend J Black to models, photographers and everyone else in between. In fact I'd strongly urge models, regardless of experience, to get in contact with J and book a shoot because I firmly believe his work has the capacity to elevate anyone's portfolio.

He's also a top chap to boot!

Double Exposure

I had an e-shoot with J Black, where I provided him with a mood board and he did the best he could to recreate the photos for me and he did an excellent job.

He listened to what I had asked for and obviously knows what he's doing and using his camera. The images were just what I was after and they were delivered almost straight away!

He has a great studio to work from and a great model he likes to work with too. :) Thank you again and much appreciate your work and effort.

After being on each others 'want to work with' lists for several months, John and I finally got around to shooting together and it was certainly worth the wait!

John has a personality which you instantly warm to and as his pre-shoot communication was fantastic, we knew exactly what we were hoping to shoot so we managed to get 4 or 5 sets into the time we had available. Everything ran perfectly smoothly and I'm really excited to see what we managed to capture!

I would highly recommend John to any model lucky enough to be offered the opportunity of working with him and I certainly hope to be able to work with him again in the future!

Angel Black UK

John asked me to take part in a Hollywood & Hurrell inspired lighting workshop during our London tour. I gladly excepted and we quickly got to work on perfecting the images before the day. The effort he put in before the actual event was astonishing, watching him play with his lights and then seeing the gorgeous images we created was simply mesmerising.

John clearly has a great eye for detail as well as lights. If there was a shadow he didn't like, he would adjust and fiddle until it was just right. During the workshop John was professional and laid back, backing the whole atmosphere relaxed. He directed me slightly, and explained where all the lights were pointing so I knew what my focal point was.

John is a very professional gentleman and is very friendly helping conversation flow easily!

Thankyou an enjoyable shoot, I look forward to your next workshop!

I enjoyed a superb workshop with John and his partner (model Angel) as we worked through a recreation of some of the Hollywood / Hurrell style images from the golden era of Hollywood stars. John's instinctive understanding of lighting shines through and he explains with each light and each adjustment what he's trying to achieve in a very understandable way. He's a superb teacher and a brilliant lighting creative. And most of all he's a thoroughly nice bloke. Highly recommended.

I finally got to work with the brilliant J Black on his recent London tour with his partner Angel and what an amazing time and experience I had!

From the start John was very polite, friendly and professional. We had great pre comms to discuss ideas and outfits for me to bring and we got some amazing images from all the sets we worked on!

John gave me helpful tips throughout the shoot with perfect directions so we could really work the lights. He was fully prepared with the best equipment to create perfect images.

I can't recommend John highly enough, and I fully encourage people to book in!

Yay!! I finally got the chance to meet and work with J Black and his beautiful partner Angel on a recent trip to Newport. From the first hello to the final goodbyes, John is a true gent :)

He is engaging, polite and friendly, we got the chance to shoot briefly at the end of a collaborative day and John was prepared with a whole studio equipment set, which he built speedily. John is a natural photographer, really easy to work with and directs well to achieve what he can see in his creative vision. I look forward to working with him again :)

Had my first lingerie and fashion shoot with J black photographer 2 days ago it was a lot of fun. As soon as I arrived to his home studio he was welcoming, polite, respectful and professional. I was offered a drink which also helped me relax!

I should also make a comment about how clean and tidy this house was, smells amazing too!

John has lots of amazing quirky ideas and gave great direction where needed. I loved that he really thought about every part of the picture to get the greatest result.

He is a great example to all photographers and I would 100% recommend for both experienced and inexperienced models.

Thanks again for a great shoot! I already want to plan another lol!!

It was wonderful to have John around to shoot at mine with both Angel Black UK and Cariad Celis, and along with KieranDahl, to make full use of the photographic space. By kindly crediting me for their work, they made me feel like George Martin at Abbey Road Studios (heh heh!).

Ever since John started visiting me as chaperone to Angel Black UK, he has, like the aforementioned trio, set the highest example. He has shown nothing short of consideration, kindness and thoughtfulness towards me and mine.

On only his second visit to my home over a year ago, he magnanimously changed the light bulb for my elderly mother. Since then, he would often greet her warmly with very beautiful flowers.

As always, John was completely respectful to my property during his shoot. It later became apparent that he even helped to leave it in a much better and much tidier condition than I ever could.

Without any prompting whatsoever, he always makes himself scarce and never interferes while others are working. Even when he is present, he is so quiet that I easily forget that he is there.

As a photographer, he has very quickly come to be someone I cite as a major influence and he has always been highly supportive of me. While he was shooting at mine, I stole a look at what was going on, and I came away hugely inspired.

Thank you so much John for gracing us with your presence once again. The only trouble is I never see much of you.

I just had the absolute pleasure of working alongside John and cannot wait to do so again. He, Ramees Farooqi and myself shot with Cariad Celis and Angel Black at Ramees' home studio and it was so much fun. John and I had several hours of waiting for our turns to shoot but not once did conversation run dry. He is a wonderful photographer with a keen knowledge of lighting and what he wants to achieve in a shoot. What he accomplished in a very short space of time was incredible and now I know what a horror movie buff he is I will be dragging him and angel along to help me bring some of my more elaborate ideas to life as soon as possible!!

I know I'm biased.. but.. John has gone from strength to strength in the 11 short months he's been doing still photography and he continues to change and grown at a staggering rate!

Pre shoot communications are always fantastic with a clear plan set out before we begin to shoot. We have worked together on a great deal of projects and everything I see throughout each of those projects is how much time, attention and care he puts into each and every one.

During our latest shoot he shot a duo of Cariad and I and the back of the camera images were fantastic. He set up his backdrop and lighting equipment and within a few minutes of playing with his lights we were off and ready to go. Combined with mine and Cariad's flow we managed to get a lot done in the 20 or so minutes we spent shooting. I can't wait to see the final edits!

He fuels my creative passion and I'm so incredibly proud of where he is. Thankyou for being the person to encourage me to pursue modelling, now I will return the favour and contuie to inspire and encourage you in your creative passion.

Once again, I highly recommend!

Second shoot in with John after a silly mishap on my part! He picked me up from the station and we got straight to work! Think this was one of the most intense shoots I've done as within 3 hours we worked on different poses, lighting, used a different room and ended up changing through 4 - 5 outfits! The concept ideas I had in mind worked so well with a new lighting technique he was working on as well! The RAW shots were absolutely stunning and I just cannot wait to see the finished result. It's amazing to see the difference between shoots!

I love working with John as he works so hard on his shoots and puts 120% effort into what he does. So he really brings the shoot to life! He is very creative and is someone who everyone can get on with and is definitely someone people should get some work in with! You won't be disappointed!
