A photographer leaving feedback on another photographer’s page is not something you see every day, but if you have ever attended one of Paul’s lighting workshops, you would completely understand. I “discovered” Paul through looking through model’s port, seeing an image I loved only to find out the photographer was Paul on many occasions.

I always want to learn more about photography and push myself hard, so when I saw Paul was running a lighting workshop, I signed up, best thing I ever did. His knowledge of lighting is immense, a lot of the mystique was blown away and he showed how effective just one light can be. The model for the day was Anna Phoenix, a very versatile and experienced model who worked well with Paul, the Dream Team. Anna was well aware of the lighting used and poses to give the maximum effect.

I came away knowing and understanding a lot more about lighting and with a new confidence which was sorely lacking before.

If you get the chance to go to one of Paul’s workshops, do it, he teaches so much more than lighting, how to interact with models, camera settings and how to make the whole experience easier, not only will it be money well spent, it is also a solid investment for the future, cannot recommend it highly enough.

I worked with Paul for the second time after applying for a cancellation casting he put out, and I'm very glad I did.

Paul came to my house with a load of equipment packed into his car and we started out by shooting with his famous four light beauty set up. Paul is extremely knowledgeable about lighting and was kind enough to let me into a few "trade secrets" for an aspiring photographer such as myself. I was extremely impressed that considering Paul had never been to my house to shoot before, he was so fast working out the best areas to shoot in and took no time at all to set up.

The entire shoot was relaxed and fun, but Paul maintained his professionalism throughout and we got some fantastic images.

I've seen a lot of the final edits from the shoot four days ago, and I'm extremely pleased with them.

Would not hesitate to work with Paul again and highly recommend him, I also recommend you check out Paul's lighting workshops, as I'm sure you can learn a lot.

I am one really lucky lady... I like to think that over the past 3 years since i've known Paul.. we can now call each other friends. I have actually lost count of how many times we have shot together and each time I am amazed by the results...

Pauls photography skills grow each and every time.

He can be a cheeky one... we banter and have a laugh... always have coffee and cake.. but always.. when the camera comes out and the scene is set, switch to the matter at hand.

Paul always ensures his models are comfortable and know what he requires for the scene or set that he has in his mind but he is also open to input from the model. He NEVER pushes levels and never acts inappropriately in any way.

He has a knack of making the imagery in his mind come alive.. and for him to do that.. he needs to feel that you are as comfortable as him as he needs to be with you.

There aren't many that i would get up for at 3.30am on a Sunday morning to go to the coast and shoot with unless they are paying me mega bucks... but for Paul I didn't hesitate.

Was it worth it.. every minute.

Despite the clouds dulling the sunset that we so desperately wanted, we carried on regardless and got some fabulous images.. the whole time Paul ensured I was safe and comfortable.

I've taken up enough space on Pauls timeline here so i will sign off.. I actually didnt think there was anymore i could say.. but hey.. it's me and i talk a lot.

So.. to any model out there, inexperienced or an old hat in the world of modelling... if Paul approaches you.... dont even think about thinking about it.. just do it... He is one of the best ...

Had a shoot today with Paul in Epping forest, and had a fantastic time. Paul is a really friendly guy, and I felt totally comfortable throughout, not to mention nattered my head off *grins*

From what I could see in the back of the camera, we ended up with some lovely images, and I really look forward to seeing how they all come out once Paul has weaved his Photoshop magic on them.

I'd happily recommend Paul to any model :)

Comms pre shoot were great and very detailed. I knew what was expected from the beginning. Paul was very prompt and very professional. He gave me loads of great advice and it was a real fun day, with lots covered.

I can't wait to see the results and I'm really looking forward to working with Paul again.

Lucky for me I stumbled across Paul on the dreaded Facebook. I literally had to beg the man to shoot me. I think the reason being when I was on here first time round a few years ago . I think I basically told him to jog on lol :-).

Eventually Paul agreed to shout me. I think he agreed more so just to shut me up lol.

Theres alwatys plenty of laughter when we shoot . Which makes the shoot more relaxed. He's a very cheeky chappy to. A big bundle of joy to work with .

Pauls a great fella . Totally professional. . I absolutely love shooting with him . Even though he moans a lot lol :-)

In two months we've bagged 3 shoots .4th shoot booked. I also feel priveledged to be on Pauls short list of reliable stand in models if he has a cancellation

What I love about Paul's work is his unique editing skills which is why I will continue to shoot with him until he gets seriously bored with me lol

I worked with Paul last week at my home. Communication before the shoot was spot on and he arrived on time and with loads of equipment. Paul is easy to get along with but professional at all times. He is full of fantastic ideas and will work hard to get the shot. I was very comfortable working with him and would highly recommend Paul to any model that's gets the chance to shoot with him. Worked with Paul today, and I'm very happy I did. He arrived with more equipment then most studio's! And did a very impressive set up straight away we discussed a set I wanted too. He was very keen to ensure i got the shots I wanted and clicked a few with that in mind of every set. He was very polite made sure I knew the look he was going for in each set and gave great direction. He takes photography very seriously and is very professional but also friendly and a pleasure to spend the day with. Id recommend him to both beginers and pros :).

I was very fortunate to work with Paul last week on a particular theme.

I've been following Pauls work for a while now and was over the moon when he agreed to work with me. Our set up was in Epping Forest, Paul knew the exact location and made sure I could get there by being great at pre-communication. I knew exactly what to bring and what look we were going for.

Paul had great creative vision, we walked around for a fair bit finding different looking places to shoot. He was great with direction and made me feel comfortable at all times.

I love how friendly and chatty Paul was throughout but most of all I absolutely love his passion for photography. Not only does it show in his work but you can also tell when you meet him how dedicated he is to it.

Would highly recommend Paul to anyone. I hope to work with him again. Very excited to see the photo's!

I worked with Paul on Sunday on a last minute booking.

I have followed his work for along time.

I notice he's updated his bio lol let's just say he's nothing like I expected in the best possible way.

He's straight talking, So am I 😊 he's a bit funny, So am I,

It worked.

I feel Paul is a genuine guy, professional, aware of models vulnerability and welfare but still got that sarky straight talking edge that makes the shoot serious but fun.

I love his edits of my choice of shots and the time frame in which I received them.

Modelling for Paul was such a pleasure! Paul is down to earth and funny, and he made our shoot so much fun. I attended Paul's One Light (fully booked) Workshop, where he thought he'd not be able to teach me something, well was he wrong. He has a particular style that's his, but he was willing to share with all in order to better anyone's skills if they were willing to learn. Great bloke that's down to earth, knowledgeable to his craft and a great photographer.

I was fortunate to attend one of Paul's 'one light' workshops last weekend and am happy to recommend this to anyone looking start out, or, hone their skills at art nude photography.

The level of detail is just right to ensure everyone kept learning while not overpowering those just starting out. His knowledge of this subject is excellent and his results speak for themselves.

Detailed comms prior to the event ensured that all arrived well prepared and ready to participate and very comprehensive notes and post event support will mean that I keep benefiting for a long time to come.

I went to pauls one light work shop yesterday , communications prior were brill, It was very well thought out and planned , all the steps during the work shop were well explained and easily understood.As iv never worked with studio lighting before this def helped me to make an informed choice going forward regarding lighting,every one was friendly and paul made us all feel very relaxed and enjoy the day.thankyou from me :) and highly recommend.

I was very lucky to gain a place on Paul's sold out one light workshop yesterday and it was the best learning decision I have made this year. Paul's attention to detail is unbelievable and the model Fawnya he chose was mind blowingly good. He is a forthright and clear in instruction and you can tell straight away he enjoys passing on his skills which he does willingly. It was without doubt the best course I have ever attended in so many ways I don't know where to start, but here's an attempt:

quality of content, quality of instruction, value for money, choice of model, time shooting (I took 151 images, some of which are the best I have ever taken) I know I am shooting myself in the foot here by saying if you want to learn this style of photography you truly cannot get better as I might lose a place myself! But it wouldn't be fair if I did not tell you this is a brilliant teacher who runs incredible courses, for the cost of just £70 Paul has made a massive improvement to my photography, now that's value for money!!!! Thanks Paul!

I modelled for one of Paul Amey's lighting workshops @ PhotoVibe Studio in May this year. :-)

Paul is an approachable and friendly guy. He was respectful regarding my concerns about levels, and communicated clearly how the workshop was going to run in advance of the workshop. He was warm & welcoming towards the attendees of the workshop - making a conscientious effort to make sure everyone felt included on the day - he answered people's questions in detail and shared his knowledge freely. The workshop was aimed at using just one simple light set-up. I was impressed how creative a person can be at using just one light!

Paul even kindly provided travel upfront so I could book my train tickets in advance. Very few photographer's do this. I really appreciate his approach and recommend him! Thank you Paul!!!

I had a brilliant second shoot with Paul. I really loved his use of different materials and prisms to produce really interesting atmospheric images. His direction is always excellent and detailed to achieve optimum results. Because of his brilliant direction he will get tremendous results with all models regardless of their levels of experience.

I cannot wait to see all the results. As always I felt totally relaxed and comfortable throughout the shoot. It is no surprise to me that he is an extremely popular photographer. Really looking forward to another shoot as soon as he has some availability. Thoroughly recommended!!!

Had another fantastic shoot with Paul today, he is fun and knows exactly what he wants to achieve from a shoot. We started in the studio then moved onto location, even though it seemed to take forever to get there but it was great, as soon as Paul got looking about the ideas just came into his head. Paul is professional and knowledgeable and makes you feel so comfortable, next shoot booked already so looking forward to it. I would highly recommend working with Paul if you want something fantastic to add to your port.

After looking forward to this for some time, I finally had the pleasure and privilege of my first shoot with Paul. The shoot was brilliant, and we got on really well. paul was, as always a lovely and considerate photographer but due to circumstances (family bereavement and illness) we had to cut the day short though we got some wonderful images from the day and hopefully we get to work together again soon to get even more!
