Superlatives don't do this studio justice. Easily accessible location, wonderful open space, many rooms that can be used used for very different shots, lots of equipment, lots of interesting props, the list goes on.

Take in the Alps

Shooting at the Factory was an unforgettable delight. Myself, the model and my mua - our small team - could not have been made more welcome when we arrived by our host Peter. That didn’t surprise me given the prompt, warm, clear and friendly way he expressed himself in the comms. On arrival, he and I could probably have chatted for a long while as we immediately struck up a humorous rapport which happily explored several shared interests and passions.

When he showed me around I knew that I had everything I needed to realise my ideas. These ideas had been exactly tailored to The Factory’s extraordinarily beautiful interior which was even more impressive than the very good shots of it on Purpleport. To me it resembles a film set, as it contains many old tungsten spotlights, old cameras, a reel to reel and other objects and furnishings that evoke a golden era of image making. When I began to position the studio’s magnificent lights (see The Factory’s port for all the detail on the excellent rig), I really got how easy it was to create the semblance of a film set here. Perfect!

Everything we needed was here, and all was to hand. It’s the kind of place that presents endless possibilities for us storytellers because it is much more than a studio - it is in fact a real space, in the sense that it is someone’s abode and yet that someone (Peter) has managed to create a dual function: a studio and an abode without one or other of those functions compromising the integrity of the other. Hence my use of the word ‘perfect’ earlier on in this reference.

Would I work there again? At the drop of a hat! Coming away from the shoot with such a sense of satisfaction my mind was already considering what I would do their next time. Something quite different would be possible because of the incredible beauty and versatility of that interior. It would also be enjoyable to meet Peter again.

What an awesome space! So many props, such good light to work with (maybe I got lucky with sunshine, but it worked brilliantly), and Peter was a great host who made me feel at home and then left us to it, while always being contactable if needed. Will almost certainly be visiting again as I think I've barely scratched the surface of the space and it's potential!

Hope you enjoyed the sandwich Peter...way too many areas to shoot in meant I forgot to eat (and that's rare for me!). Cheers!

Had a booking with my favourite studio but sadly the model didn't turn up.

Peter was as ever understanding and we had a chat and a coffee instead!

Not to worry, re-booked for another shoot with Annalie at the end of the month when I am sure we will utilise the superb facilities that Factory offers!

The factory is a fantastic warehouse apartment, with high ceilings, lots of space, and furnished to a high standard. I had the space for the whole day, with two models, morning and afternoon, and it was the ideal space for a lifestyle and fashion shoot. After a friendly welcome from Peter to give a tour of the space and equipment, I had exclusive use for the day, and had an excellent, enjoyable and productive day. Will definitely be back as it has so many possibilities and a stunning alternative to a plain backdrop (although those are available too!). Highly Recommended.

I saw the Portfolio for the Factory and thought I would like to shoot there and so after getting Bex White to agree to shoot with me, I fixed it up.

Apart from the distance from where I live, I can think of nothing to say other than praise and delight.

We shot for four hours and were fortunate to have lovely light.

Peter made the organisation of it all easy, and we had no problem in being respectful to what is a beautiful home with lovely furnishings.

I can recommend The Factory to photographers and models who want something a bit special and very different from paper backcloths. And if you want that, they are there along with flashes etc etc.

Totally recommended.

Haven’t shot with Peter myself but have used his fantastic warehouse space so many times now. Peter is always on time, the warehouse space is always clean and ready for when we arrive and he has a fantastic sense of humour

Lovely place to shoot, had a day there but hardly explored all it has to offer. I particularly like how easy it is to transition between natural light and a full strobe set-up with backdrops. Peter is a great host, giving you all the help you need then staying clear unless wanted. Hope I get a chance to return.

Shot at The Factory for the first time and absolutely LOVED it. This space is to die for and just oozes creative inspiration. It is impeccably decorated, making it impossible to get anything but a classy refined look to your shots.

It is very clean, warm and spacious, and offers some really unique settings as well as abundant natural light. Alongside this The Factory offers studio-style backdrops, and a full lighting kit - which we didn't even get round to using as we were too busy exploring all the different possibilities available to us using just the space and beautiful decor.

Pete was a great host, polite, welcoming, on hand to let us in and show us around, but respectful of our privacy leaving us to it once we were ready to begin.

I'd come back to The Factory in a heart beat - we could have spent the whole day there if not more! Thanks Pete!

Fourth shoot at the truly excellent Factory - as always, Peter was an amazing host. The booking process was simple and swift, the facilities are well documented along with the studio rules and the range of equipment available for use is excellent.

The studio is well maintained, has clearly been decorated and furnished with a sense of style and flair, and has stunning natural light in the main shooting space. The two vintage lights in the studio are brilliant - the quality of light from them is gorgeous.

Very highly recommended.

My third shoot at the superb Factory. My previous references are below and quite long so I'll keep this short. The Factory is more location than studio, a luxury apartment really, and all the better for that. It has style and character in abundance and so many opportunities for exploring different styles and moods. Huge window so fab natural light; high quality studio lighting, etc. It is located in a very accessible place for those driving - again I was back on the M11 in about 15 minutes. Host Peter is super friendly and helpful, the perfect studio boss. The Factory is a gem, my go-to studio in London. Recommended 100%.
