Ivory Flame

I loved modelling for David's workshop! It was so relaxed and fun.

A highlight for me was David's eye for styling and colours on set, and how he appreciates beautiful complimenting tones and textures, as this is something I really love to showcase.

Friedly small group of photographers, great 80s music to shimmy to in between shots, lovely atmosphere, I was completely looked after, and David is professional, considerate and friendly throughout.

Absolutely recommended and I can't wait to model there again! :-)

My second shoot with David and it was even better than the first; I was fed amazing food by his lovely wife, attacked/cuddled to death by his three gorgeous dogs and got to pose for some amazing pictures. What's not to love?! I adore David's style of photography but also his approach to the shoot - he is kind, complimentary, understands colours and light, has a great sense of humour and great (passable) taste in music. I absolutely recommend David to any model or photographer and hope we can shoot again in the future!

Yet another fabulous shoot with David! This time was our first 1-2-1 tuition day together- but yet again, spoilt for choice props wise, fed an incredible lunch and well, I forgot I was booked for just 3 hours, not 4-!! Hahah! Totally love shooting with David, the time just flies by!! :)

Adore the shots we did, so excited to see more edits. Win win win...When can we do it again!? :D :D

Attended David's Advanced Portrait Retouching Course. I find there is a limit to what you can learn from Youtube videos, and face-to-face course has the interactivity that can reinforce and explain the techniques.

David's course was well prepared. He walked us through colour grading, doge and burn, and how to deal with common problems found in portraits. David make extensive use of well-designed PS Actions.

All-in-all well worth it, I found it advanced my retouching capabilities.

I attended one of Davids Fine Art Workshops with Carla Monaco as our model.

David provides really great communication both prior to the course and afterwards. It was a great day, David is very laid back and makes you feel at ease. He has a great taste in music too.

Carla was a wonderful model and all the delegates had plenty of time to shoot different sets, set up by David.

I got some amazing shots and learnt a great deal too, David's lovely wife provided us with a great lunch too!

After admiring David’s work for a good while, mainly because his work is so reminiscent of one of Europe’s top portrait photographers who I have had the pleasure of working with , Sweden’s Jessie Wikkstrom, we finally got together at his lovely Corsham studio for a couple hours. Great guy and a tremendous photographer who I can highly recommend and a real honour to have worked with him, my portfolio will be truly enhanced with the images.

Had such a wonderful time shooting for one of daves workshops.

Dave was really easy to get along with and the whole day flowed along smoothly.

We obtained some brilliant shots and the lighting was beautiful.

Wavepower

I attended David's Fine Art Workshop today at his home studio in Corsham with Stephanie Dubois as the model.

On arrival, David was very welcoming and hospitable. The workshop was well planned, relaxed and fun. It covers both the practical aspects of Fine Art Portraiture which included amble opportunity for taking pictures and a session on his approach to editing the resulting images. David led us through the workshop well. He is clearly knowledgeable, he is able to explain his approach clearly and is very supportive and attentive. We were well catered for during the workshop which included a delicious light lunch.

All in all a most enjoyable and instructive workshop. Thoroughly recommended for all those keen to improve their portraiture photography.

David is fab!

He booked me for one of his Portrait Lighting workshops last weekend. Pre shoot comms were perfect and I had all the info I needed in plenty of time. David himself is very laid back, very easy to get on with... and understood my sense of humour ;) He is very patient with his delegates and allows plenty of time for them to shoot their own images from each set. The workshops are well run with a fabulous lunch served mid way through and a nice steady pace throughout.

I really enjoyed working with David and I really love his style of photography.

I hope we get to work with each other again soon.

David ran a workshop that I attended. I found him to be very pleasant, welcoming, knowledgeable, professional and accommodating. His style was relaxed and he made the day fun without being cheesy or patronising. The workshop was very informative and full of those 'why didn't I think of that' moments. His choice of model was superb and the pace and timing was just right. The cherry on the cake was the delicious lunch. All in all I would recommend one of Davids workshops to anyone looking to move up to the next level with their photography.

David is super lovely, runs fantastic workshops, has a great laugh and his lovely wife also cooks up a scrumptious lunch for everyone!!

I thoroughly enjoy working with David- good vibes all round and incredible results too- just what you want from a model and a photographers perspective on an event like this.

I finally got the chance to work with David in one of his fine art workshops. I was absolutely over the moon when he contacted me! I’ve been avidly following English Photoworks for quite some time and I’m always bowled over by the stunning imagery I see. Precoms were spot on and he was good at checking in with me on travel and where I was staying. David was helpful with bus routes AND! When my hostel stay was a disaster he was more than happy for me to come over early so I could get my make up done for the day, Thankyou for that one David!

I was well catered for too, i was provided with a delicious gluten free and vegetarian lunch. I very rarely get asked about my dietary requirements so it was a really nice touch.

David himself is a lovely gentle giant, kind and funny, very easy to work with!

Fabulous studio and fabulous clients o for to work with.

Thankyou for your hospitality and for an amazing shoot!

First time to attend one of English PhotoWorks Fine Art workshops. Our model was the incredible, Marie Jean Taylor. Pre shoot comes were comprehensive. The structure of the day worked well and David ensured all photographers achieved the images they wanted, before moving on. The studio is small, but well equipped and worked well for the looks we were aiming for. A lovely lunch was also provided. David knows his stuff and offered post processing support after the shoot to those that requested it. Thanks David ......a very enjoyable day and I’m confident I have some ‘Winners’ to help me in my quest for my next Photographic qualification

I have just got back from a 1-day Fine Art Photography course with David at English Photoworks near Bath.

A relaxed, and very informative session that I would say suits photographers of an intermediate level or above. An excellent balance, with just a touch of theory before getting to see David setting up the lighting and shooting a model, before practising yourself. David keeps the group small (just 3 of us) so you have all the time you need, as he goes over several different lighting setups.

Not a cheap course, but then, real quality rarely is...

Highly recommended.

I've just completed a one day fine art portraiture workshop run by David.

David is patient, personable and very keen to make sure that each of the small gorup of attendees gets what they wanted from the day and comes away feeling like it was time (and money) well spent. Well I certainly did.

If you're looking to make the leap to model photography, wanting to diversify your skills into the fine art arena or just wanting to gain some confidence then I would heartily recommend one of David's workshops.

If this wasn't enough his lovely wife makes an excellent lunch and the three dogs are brilliantly entertaining!

If you're sitting on the fence wondering if it will be worth it...just book it. You won't regret it

Wow! I have been modelling for one of David's workshop for the first time and I really enjoyed it!

Pre-shoot communication was excellent.

David works with 3 attendees, which make the shoot very relax and easy. They were all nice and easy to work with!

A delicious lunch prepared by his lovely wife was provided.

David is obviously a very talented photographer, very good at teaching, running his workshops and amazing at lighting set up and retouching! Very nice guy, relax and easy to work with... I am glad I had this privilege, and hopefully, I'll shoot with him again.

I attended a Fine Art workshop with David. The course provided me with an introduction in to studio photography using various lighting techniques. I very much enjoyed the experience, David is a very personable and patient teacher. I left feeling like I have more skills in my photography as well as meeting someone in the industry to network with in future. I throughly recommend David's workshop if you want the opportunity to capture some stunning images.

Had a great day with David on 23 September, his seminar proved to be interesting and inspiring.

With Jordan Ebbitt as model, 6 poses where created using different lighting techniques. If you are interested in or starting out as a portrate photographer, a day with David is time well spent and good value. I have been to several seminars over the past few years and David's is one of the best, he instructs well during the day and finishes by editing images taken during his seminar thus showing the finished image. Once again thanks for great day David.
