In Search of That Perfect Shot..............

The Creativity Hub held a weekend event and I was lucky enough to be on the Saturday's event. The models were Emsy, Emily Anderson, Olivia Harriett, Cheryl Elizabeth, Naomi and Pippa. Fabulous day with some awesome posing from each model who were very creative in their style. We got some great results and I feel lucky to have been able to join in on this well organised event. I’ve worked with Emily on a number of occasions, but our last shoot had been 17 months ago - so it was lovely to work with her again, this time on location in central Brighton.

Unfortunately the weather turned wet, but we made some nice images inside the railway station – I put Em to work the moment she set foot off the train! Luckily, the sun came out at the end of the shoot, and I managed to capture some lovely shots of her wearing her Italian sunglasses.

Emily is everything you want in a model - very professional, extremely photogenic, great sense of style and presence in front of camera, and her comms are the best in the business. Her personality’s not too bad either - so she’s very easy to talk to and get along with during a shoot :)

Due to the wet weather, we were forced to have a very pleasant lunch in a stylish bistro near the seafront, which was alright with me. It was nice to catch up with Emily, given we hadn’t seen each other for almost a year and a half.

Thanks Em, and I hope to shoot with you in London before the summer’s out.

Delighted to work with the super talented Em again after the recent hiatus. Clearly Em is a highly skilled professional actor and model, but she's happy working with amateur photographers like myself as well as with skilled professionals and for commercial projects. It's always a pleasure to work with Em who adds so much value to a shoot, happily responding to direction (however minimal) or providing her own creativity and mix of acting and modelling skill and experience. Had a very hastily arranged shoot with Emily today after a late minute cancellation. Within and hour we had arranged to shoot. Ems comms are perfect, exactly what you need to know, very quick, and to the point.

Ive shot with Em many times now, and Em is a friend, but she is still a consummate professional when shooting despite our friendship which is perfect.

Em is a hugely experienced professional, top model, but she is also a grounded, down to earth, genuine, honest person with an awesome sense of humour. She is very patient when Im playing around with settings, and even brings cakes on our shoots, and theyre always awesome! :)

I truly recommend Em to anyone, beginners or full time. She will bring the best out in your images, she really will.

Yet another outstanding shoot with Emily. Ive shot a lot with Em over the last few months, and there are a number of reasons for that. Emily is an awesome model, her comms are outstanding, her preparation for a shoot (outfit selection, hair, makeup, understanding of the shoot requirements) outstanding, her professionalism on the day, outstanding. Emily needs no direction, but can take it very easily if you need something specific she hasnt already thought of, which is unlikely. Emily works really hard to get the shot, has some awesome ideas for styles and also a great eye for what wont work, as well as what does. Listen to Emily, she has never steered me wrong yet.

Over the last year myself and Emily have become friends, but Emily is just as much a professional now during the shoot as she was the first time we shot, a consummate professional. I cant recommend Emily enough, I really cant.

Well, another absolutely awesome shoot with Emily. This shoot was a very short notice affair, organised 24 hours before. Its like the stars aligned. Emilys pre comms are outstanding, quick responses, to the point with exactly the right information.

On the day Emily was very understanding when I arrived late to pick her up due to heavy traffic, and she had so many outfits with her, all exactly

suited to the shoot themes, I was spoilt for choice. Emilys hair and makeup was, as always, perfect.

Emily understood exactly the style and types of images I was after, and we were exactly on the same page for the whole 6 hour shoot. Emily needs no direction, but can easily follow direction if you have a specific look you want. Actually, Emily is so intuitive she can pretty much read your mind and hits the pose you are after as you are about to articulate it. Emily has some excellent ideas, which are worth trying as they will deliver some awesome shots.

Emily is an extraordinary person, honest, genuine, down to earth, and caring, with a wonderful sense of humour. When I'm shooting with Emily I'm shooting with a friend. Ill be shooting with Emily for as long as shes modelling.

Emily is a joy to work with. Very professional and very highly rated. Her Pre-comms were excellent and we knew from the start what we were trying to achieve in the studio.

We worked through several costume and set changes and she gave 100% to everything we discussed.

Emily's look to camera and her range of varied and wonderful poses mean that you will not be disappointed with her work.

It will not be long before our paths cross again as I already have some new ideas for our next shoot together.

Pre Shoot Comms are the best Ive seen, her attitude is the best Ive seen, her outfit selection - the best Ive seen, her work ethic - the best Ive seen, her attention to detail, her understanding of a shoot theme, her hair, her makeup, her ability to take direction (in the unlikely event you ever need to direct her) all the best I have seen.

Had the Pleasure of working with Emily during a studio workshop. Emily is a very competent model. It is clear that Emily is very experienced and a very skilled model. Emily is able use a wide ranges of poses and is very expressive with moods.

Emily is also very easy going and I enjoyed talking to her just as much as photographing her. Emily is a lovey person and great model. I really enjoyed working with her. I hope to have the opportunity to work with her in the future

My third shoot with Emily and my second in 5 days. This was a relatively impromptu shoot organised within minutes & Emilys comms are second to none.

On the day Emily was ready on time with hair & makeup done to a very high standard. When we arrived at the location Emily was ready to shoot immediately, and was spot on from the very first test shot. Emily has many years of experience, and it shows in every pose and every set. Shes imaginative with her poses, and works so hard to allow you to get something new. Emilys experience allows her to provide invaluable advice.

Emily is a honest, genuine person, with a great sense of humour. Ive loved every minute of the 3 shoots weve done together, and if I could Id shoot with her again tomorrow, and every other day.

If you get chance to work with Emily, take it, I guardsmen you wont be disappointed, regardless of how high your standards are.

This was my second shoot with Emily, and as expected it didnt disappoint. Emilys pre shoot comms were absolutely brilliant, always responding quickly and succinctly. Emily is a hugely experienced professional model, who needs no direction, who fully understands your concept and adds really great ideas and suggestions. If you are after a specific look though Emily quickly grasps the poses you are looking for, and will achieve them immediately.

Shooting with Emily is such fun, shes articulate, intelligent, down to earth and has a great sense of humour. But as soon as you raise the camera, even for test shots, Emily is right on point, and her professionalism shines through, holding poses even when you try to make her laugh (Im going to get you one day :) )

Pre shoot comms was fantastic for this shoot which we fit at last minute.

Her make up was on point and she had the clothes for the shoot.

She is good at posing and takes directions quite well.

We made some great images in a relaxed atmosphere.

I think this is the fourth time i have shot with Emily, and as always she was awesome to work with. Pre-coms was spot on and she arrived bang on time ready to shoot.

We had a little wander around central London finding places to shoot, and as always Emily was more than happy to do this. I always look forward to working with her as I know she will make sure you get some great images. Emily is an absolute pleasure to work with and I look forward to our 5th shoot!

I had the very good fortune to shoot with Emily at a one-on-one workshop with Kris Karl.

This was the third time working with this truly beautiful lady and I was reminded as to how brilliant she is at delivering such fabulously beautiful images.

As a model specialising in fashion, her professionalism and experience are always so evident. Her ability to react to a situation with such consummate ease, is clearly what defines her as being such a true professional.

In between shooting she is also a delightful person with whom to chat, great fun, and for those not yet having had the opportunity to shoot with her, she is definitely a must for any portfolio.

Shot with Emily for the first time last Thursday .

So here are the key points to note about working with her . She is an experienced full time model, works in commercial settings and for all those reasons her professionalism shows through from pre-shoot communication, throughout the shoot and in post shoot communication too.

While she is exceptionally photogenic she said herself that having " a look" is the very beginning of the making of a good model and it takes a lot of work to shine through, she certainly does shine through and although still a young woman anyone working with her now will get the benefit of her experience .

Emily poses instinctively and interprets the theme and the photographer's needs really well responding quickly to direction but she also has great insight in how she can best play to the camera and it makes sense to give her room to make her own contributions in that way .

On a personal level she is easy to talk to, mature, attentive and engaging. All of these things added up to make a very enjoyable shoot ( despite the cold) and one which far exceeded the expectations I came with and left with a much higher number of " keeper" shots than average .

I really enjoyed the shoot and just wished we were not at opposite ends of the country , it would be great to work more together.

Emily is a true professional through and through. She always comes with a positive attitude and turns up looking at her best. Precomms with Emily are also exceptionally clear and on point, as always.
