Lace

Lace -caped fungus , I was so pleased with finding this , it is one of the fungi that I had always wanted to see , some fool ( can't think who ) decided that it would be good idea to trek to the top of Brazils highest mountain , the light goes very quickly in the rainforest and it was getting quite dark when I came across this beautiful fungus as we set camp , the lace cap was not totally formed , so I decided to wait until the next morning to take a snap , and indeed the lace was much better , but during the night some passing slug or snail had a nibble at the end of the phallus , Picos de Niblina , northern Brazil .
