Had my first group shoot at Strangetown Studio, ran by David

Pre comms were great and the day ran really smoothly. David is a pleasure to work with, really polite and respectful and ensures that those booked onto his group shoots are the same. The studio itself is a really nice space, well equipped, and the changing room was really tidy and kept very warm (which is always appreciated!)

He also drove me back to the station (and when the traffic meant I missed my train, drove me onto my connecting station so I could still get home).

Highly recommended, I look forward to coming back :)

Had my first group shoot this weekend. Great venue with lots of varied locations. Absolutely wonderful lighting design and sets. A real pleasure to shoot there.

Attend a shoot arranged by David, using his studio and the office area. David had arranged the model , who was absolutely wonderful to work with. David is on hand to provide technical support and to suggest alternative poses that you don't always think of. Got some great images from the shoot.

Pre-comms were spot on, very easy to arrange the details of the shoot. David is very professional and does photography for a living, which you can see right from the get-go.

I was contacted by David about modelling for group shoots @ his studio - Strange Town.

Pre communications were fab, David was well organised and informative. I really enjoyed the group shoot, David has a great group of respectful, fun and creative photographers. Even though it was 30+ degrees we still had a wonderful shoot, got lot's of great images and I really enjoyed being a part of the event - the time flew by!

I'm really looking forward to returning to Strange Town next month for another event!

Recommend David and his studio to all :-)

On Sunday, June 26th 2022, I took part as a photographer at one of David's photography workshops. It was my first shoot of this type, and the organisation that David put into it was very thorough. The model, Tetiana was a great choice, she was very good, working with a fair few photographers on the day, whilst she and David came up with a lot of ideas for the shoot. Strangetown studio itself is also a great place to shoot in, with interesting industrial areas, and a big courtyard outside to use. I would highly recommend both David and the studio, and I will be back to do some more of his workshops in the future.

Shot a few times with David over the years and its always a lot of fun. Hes easy going and great with organising the workshops and models.

He gave me a lift to the location this time which was a great help and saved money. We had a nice catch up on the way.

He is just a genuinely nice guy. He takes great photos, always has plenty of ideas, great at directing and working with models to bring the best out in them.

We always have great locations and i was able to comfortably pose nude without passers by in a private location. He works well outdoors with the changing weather and lighting as well as occasionally indoors.

He looked after me and we stopped for little breaks and a drink when needed. Including sheltering from the rain.

Always a pleasure, highly recommended. Xx

David arranged a rural shoot at a fine location. The event worked well (in spite of the odd shower) and it was a useful shoot for gaining experience, networking and experimenting with image ideas. Being an experienced tutor in the craft he came across as happy to add a steer to the event to make sure everyone got the best from it.

I had my second shoot with David, this time at the Alto Studio in the heart of Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter on Thu Mar 10th, and just like the last time it was a thoroughly enjoyable and productive experience. David is as open and easy to get along with for a model as he is for his pupils, and really goes the extra mile to get the results he wants. A brilliant organiser as well the inspiration behind his shoots, I'm sure I'll be adding another reference of David's art and commitment the very next time we work together!

I responded to a casting call for one of Davids "new blood" events at his FOTO-CLUB in Birmingham.

All communication prior to the shoot was polite and informative and very welcoming.

The members of the club are all lovely and I had a fab time working with the photographers and having pictures taken by David too.

Currently partway through a training course with David, he's a clearly a very talented photographer which is of course one of the reasons I booked onto the course, his experience and guidance has really helped me improve my photography skills and gain useful experience particularly in post edit which I wanted some guidance on. Lovely shoot with David at FOTO-CLUB. Despite getting a little lost (my own fault!) the shoot was brilliant. Lovely group of people with great ideas for portrait shots, and a fun 60's vibe towards the end. Would recommend David and the FOTO-CLUB very highly and look forward to working with David again in the future!
