References for David Shickell

I have not long finished a brilliant remote shoot with David at my home studio.

I have worked with David before but this was our first remote shoot together assisted by Adrian Crook.

David was great in the run up to the shoot, giving me as much references on ideas on what he wanted to achieve from the shoot. Once we got all the tech stuff out the way at the beginning and David got use to our set-up, the shoot just flowed and we managed to get great images, bouncing different ideas off each other and working as a team.

David is lovely to work with, gives good communication and he has a great passion for photography and it was pleasure to shoot with him in this new way.

I am looking forward to seeing the results and I hope we can shoot together again whether it be in person or remotely.

I shot with Dai last week at F/8 Studio after filling in last minute as unfortunately his model couldn't attend and I am so glad I did.

Dai is such a professional, laid back and funny guy. You can just tell he has such a passion, creativity and love for what he does, I was absoloutely blown away by the idea's he had and the back of camera shots looked incredible.

I can't wait to work with Dai again to see what other wicked images we can create. Thank you Dai & see you soon :)

f/8 Studio

Dai has been to f/8 a couple of times now, but it’s the very first time I’ve worked with him, since taking over the studio, and I was delighted we had a slot free, to honour his shoot yesterday.

Dai has had a break from PurplePort, as life sometimes gets in the way, but don’t let his lack of activity put you off, this lack of activity, certainly doesn’t reflect in his lack of ability, this gentleman is a phenomenal photographer, and full of so much passion to create unique imagery, I’m so excited to work with him at f/8.

Dai loves his photography, he just ooozzeeessss passion and creativity, and I personally can’t wait to create some stunning and unique imagery with him, and the models that come to f/8, we are very similar in what we love about photography, and creatively clicked straight away, so I’m really excited to see what comes, from our future collaborations, we already have another shoot booked this week.

I really can’t recommend this gentleman enough, to any model in the industry, not only is he an amazing photographer, he’s full of positivity, and kindness throughout his time in the studio, he sees artistic things, that very few photographers pick up on, and loves working with both natural light and studio set ups. What I love about his technique, is he takes his time, and searches for quality, not wasting his time, filling his memory cards with ooosdllesss of images, that just don’t hit the spot, he will experiment, get the lighting perfect, then throw our that “WOW” image.

You can see from Dai’s portfolio, his stunning work, and I’m so excited to watch the future collaborations we work on together, evolve into his amazing portfolio of work. Please, please, please, if any model gets the opportunity to work with Dai, don’t hesitate, I’ve been a studio owner, makeup artist and costume designer, full on, in the industry, and a photographer like Dai comes along, once in a blue moon, don’t miss out on the opportunity to work with him, it will truly be a great loss to your portfolio, I’m certainly very excited to work with Dai, on his future visions, you should be too, he’s not just a photographer, but a true artist in the making, snap up the chance to become part of his journey, you certainly won’t regret it. Can’t wait for our next shoot Dai, and I hope it leads to many more together.

Had my first test shoot with Dai, it was extremely late notice arrangement as excited to work with Dai and a slot in the studio came free so we jumped at the chance.

Dai is friendly and easy to shoot with. His eye to lighting detail is amazing and his passion for perfection is addictive and wonderful to watch.

I highly recommend Dai and I’m hoping we can work together on projects in the future.

Back of camera images looked incredible and I can honestly say that he is a dream to work with, can't recommend this fantastic dude enough to all models and studios :)

I worked with David during an event hosted by the Yerbury's at Guys Cliffe last month.

It was a fantastic day and the results are incredible. David was friendly, respectful and helped me carry my things when we moved from location to location. I really hope I can work with David again one day, thank you very much! :)

David came to my home last week for a 3 hour shoot. David was so lovely to work with, professional, easy going and great company throughout. We did a range of styles from classic head shots to fashion shots inside and outdoors.

I would definitely work with David again and can happily recommend him to other models out there, thanks Carla :)

he's a true professional, great attention to detail, give great directions and knows the look he wants.

The whole shoot had a relaxed, fun atmosphere and we had a great laugh ( he make a good cup of tea which is also a bonus)

I've already seen a sneaky peek at some of the images and they have turned out amazing cant wait to see the rest

David Craig is by far the best photographer i have worked with in a long time

the shoot was fun and interesting

i am sooooo excited and cannot wait to see the images, i know they will be stunning

David has a great eye for an image and i can see his imagination going wild for that epic image

his communication is excellent pre shoot and when shooting

David is happy to take ideas but is great at giving direction

Your portfolio will benefit emmensely from David's work

i am extremely pleased that i travelled up to work with David and will be coming for a second and third,

He is a really nice, funny and genuine and 100% recommended.

Had a location shoot with david today and I really enjoyed it. He had lots of ideas for the props we had and the resulting images I saw on the back of camera was great. David ia a really nice guy great to get on with and I was at ease the whole time. An enjoyable shoot, look forward to working with him again

Met David yesterday for an autumnal shoot at Birkenhead park :)

As soon as I met David I felt very relaxed and knew it would be a lovely shoot.

we walked all around the stunning park and got some shots along the way. David knew what he wanted and given good direction.

I would love to work with David again in near future - Highly recommended :)

Last minute shoot......but by no means did I find it lacking! Arranged the night before we spoke about ideas and outfits....had limited time but not limited images afterwards! More than happy with the results and would work with David again in the future :) Very nice bloke to be around!
