We did it again! Another epic shoot with the awesome Gary on my most recent tour of Scotland! :D I don’t think it would be the same if I ventured North and we weren’t able to shoot!! It’s like routine now, just fun new locations/brilliant twists on ideas. And lots more cracking images in the bag of course!

We did a mix of indoor and outdoor again this time... Gary’s knowledge of the area and beauty spots to make great pictures just seems to extend on forever! If there’s a nook or corner around Dundee/Fife or Tayside which holds potential for models and photographers to make good pictures - Gary will know about it! So the first part of the shoot was spent galavanting around a selection of outdoor sites, from jaw-dropping waterfalls to green woodland tracks with the autumn sunshine dappling through... Gary has the BEST eye for such nice locations, and a bloomin photographic/map memory to find them too, I still put some places in the satnav that are based down the road from me haha! Though in my defence, the roads are like a rabbit warren! :P

We were totally blessed with conditions... I mean we’ve shot in almost every possible weather scenario, and Gary is always empathic with models doing bursts and warming up if needs be: but we had simply beautiful weather considering the time of year! :D Golden sunshine, soft light later. As per usual, Gary battled all the changes in light (happening by the minute) with a pinch of salt and nailed one lush photo after another from every angle/position and scene. He knows his stuff off to a tee when shooting and is never phased by different light sources or anything. He knows exactly what he wants to achieve image-wise, but also values that a model can bring their own twist and ideas to the table which means the whole session is just packed with teamwork vibes. :)

After doing what we needed on location, we retreated back to Gary’s place to catch the last of the light as it disappeared. Darker winters/shorter days? Meh! Doesn’t stump this photographer! :D several mega bodyscapes and sassy lifestyle shots later: we eventually moved away from the fading daylight and played with some fun ambient light things. Which actually created insanely interesting results! Think outside the box and reap the rewards for sure! :D So that makes Gary the star of location shoot planning, and also ingenious at thinking up creative ways of lighting with other sources. Never a dull moment or lack of ideas working with this gent! He’ll take on challenge after challenge and puts a huge level of thought into his shoots. It really is a blast to working with Gary and I’m grateful of all the shoots we’ve done over the year! :D Seeing where the ideas go next is always something to look forward to!

Naturally, I massively recommend Gary for yet another time! :) He’s super well organised, always communicates like a star and is to-the-point with things to bring and arrangements etc. (bliss when you might have 20 shoots on an extended tour!) And of course not forgetting how professional in approach he is from the word go. Completely easy-going, wonderfully company, a great laugh and chat (about the silliest of things sometimes!) And just someone that every model is guaranteed a pleasant shoot with. :)

We’ve already got two more shoots/events in the line up for this year, though it will likely be more when I get my life into some kind of order and plan a Scotland tour for 2020 (feels weird not having done already!

Gary’s always top on people to work with up North! :D

This was my second shoot with Gary now combined on my trip up north.

Gary is so lovely! Such a pleasure to work with, funny, professional he really is one of the good ones, I'm shooting a lot less now mainly only with people that make me really happy and guys I've worked with before so I know exactly what to expect! This shoot was even greater than what I expected! He really does make me smile!

Highly recommended! Can't wait for shoot no3 too right!!

I had a three-hour shoot with Gary at my place today. He was punctual easygoing friendly and fun to work with. He planned the shoot well so it went on smoothly.

On top of that he brought a lovely dress which worked nicely.

It was a pleasure to shoot with Gary on location during my tour of Scotland. His Precomms were great and I was fairly sure of what to expect. He was courteous and chatty throughout and we achieved a range of looks as time flew by.

The location he chose was absolutely beautiful- forest, dunes, sea and a swing on a tree!

What more could a model ask for ?

Gary and I had our first shoot yesterday and it was a fun shoot indeed. We had planned a location shoot in advance which was going to be a beach shoot - we managed a few there before the rain kicked in and had to improvise with the nearby woodland!

All outfits were planned out in advance which made my job as a model easy knowing what we were setting up to capture - even if I did still bring a full suitcase just to be safe!

Gary was professional and friendly, a very easy human to get along and work with. I had a couple of bags to carry so he politely sheltered me from the light rain with my umbrealla I had no hands for whilst we made our way to shelter.

He let me see all images on the back of the camera after every few shots as well as look through them all at the end which is always extremely appreciated!

I highly recommend this man like - utter delight to work with for so many reasons.

I shop with Gary on my recent Scotland tour we had the pleasure to shoot outdoors as the weather was lovely

We went to a fantastic location in Dundee in fact every time I’ve toured in Scotland I’ve never shot outdoors it’s always been miserable weather and studio days so I was very happy to finally shoot outdoors in the beautiful Scotland

I think me and Gary create some great images the time always flies I love working with him I would definitely recommend him as a person and a photographer I would certainly work with him again and again

This time we worked at my apartment in Edinburgh which had stunning natural light so we made the most of that for the duration of the shoot :)

Another one bites the dust - another corking and highly enjoyable shoot with the lovely Gary! :D Gosh we've worked together "umpteen" times now and each time has had something different: the locations, the light, the way we work the outfits/look in with the environment... Gary is such a lovely person to work with and makes the 4 hours go by like a breeze. It's pretty much routine now that we shoot on all of my Scottish tours - there might have been maybe one or two where we didn't get chance?

Gary is always a star in the communications before a shoot - he has his briefs at the ready for what to bring and what-not (packing for tours is always a game of tetris!) and he's organised/prompt with his messages so you have your plan for the session nailed in a couple of emails - nothing more to worry about! He's always so helpful too - we chat about where I'm going to be/what segment of my tour our shoot will fall on and he routinely comes up with locations that might be nearby to a station where he so generously does the pick-up/drop-off routine. It's a massive help for a travelling model - especially those crazy ones who take 5 million bags with them. :P His knowledge of all these cool places around the East-Coast is just jaw-dropping, you can always be sure that there will be exciting features of the location for you to utilise and model around when you get there. :P Gary has a fantastic eye for these things and always chooses well for the shoot destination.

Another fine bundle of photographs/moments captured! Gary always has his hands full with me - the mad shape-pulling model who darts from one place to another! But he frames the shots and works the lighting (however challenging) improvising, working cool angles in with my pose and the environment. We shot after dark again using ambient light sources - usually a significant challenge for a photographer. Not Gary. :) He's creatively able to use the resources at the time of a shot in so many innovative ways, all the while keeping up with the technical stuff like lighting and interesting composition. In terms of location work, he really is a photographer who pushes himself to achieve funky and interesting photographs in all scenarios! Working as a brilliant with the model and coming up with idea after idea - he is always inspired and always enthusiastic.

Going through the back of the camera is pretty routine now too! :) Gary kindly lets me take "behind-the-scenes" snaps (because I'm completely useless at holding back my excitement when a shoot is going well/you're getting cracking results!) He also generously shares his edits after the event too so it's always lovely to see the fruits of our labour pop-up in my email a little while after our shoot. :) We always smash a whole range of imagery across the board and each shoot has it's own little flow that makes it different - that's why I always look forward to working with Gary again!

Just as I've said before; Gary is utterly professional and a joy to work with. He is so down-to-earth and easy to strike a good rapport with... He has a practical approach to his shots to make them a complete doddle and respects the people that he books very highly. Always recommended! :D

I worked with Gary on my mammoth Scottish Tour! I think it was our second time working together and we had such a blast! This time we shot on location and it was quite cold with the windchill at times- but very enjoyable! Gary is super patient, kind and allows for plenty of warm up breaks!

Gary is such an endearing character- so much fun to talk to and work with, he had me laughing throughout and forgetting all about the cold (ok- for the most part! :) )

I really loved Gary's choice of locations which included a castle and a chapel- it was just a shame that it wasn't a bit warmer- however we made the very most of it! I love natural light photography and the photos looked beautiful.

Gary is super kind, very respectful and I loved his company. It was very entertaining in parts with the thick Scottish accent, which I found very endearing! I look forward to seeing the images and highly recommend to all models! Thanks Gary and hope to work together again soon,

Gary is simply lovely! I had my first shoot with him in North London's Shutter House and it flew by so quickly! He is a very creative photographer and such an interesting guy to talk to. I believe we have created some great stuff on the day and I wouldn't hesitate to work with him again.

Another shoot packed with awesome working with the lovely Gary! Each shoot we do something slightly different and each shoot is always a true team effort with bags of productivity. :) This time we dabbled in some winter fashion/portraits and then also grabbed some shots at Gary’s place where we were blessed with the most beautiful light! I thoroughly enjoy getting to work with Gary on my Scottish tours and always look forward to the opportunities that the next shoot holds.

As typical: Gary sourced and picked out some AMAZING locations. For a winters day, we were quite blessed with the conditions and the sun was actually glaringly strong at times! But Gary is very skilled at managing the light in challenging conditions: I think every shoot we have done up to now has posed different technical obstacles that test a photographer behind the camera... Yet Gary can balance the light and work with ever changing conditions with seemingly no effort at all to create a picture that’s either atmospheric, pretty, moody or creatively composed. He really does have an awesome eye for his work.

Gary once again kindly picked me up and delivered me to designated meet-up/drop-off points which helped me so much given the gigantic luggage amounts I have a tendency to bring up North with me! He’s super organised too and brilliant with his communication on ideas before the shoot so this meant we could get straight to the looks we had chatted about and nail the locations in a heartbeat. He was really conscious of me being cold and nailed the shots quickly so that I could reheat in-between sets. I always believe that good prep brings you good success and this always seems to be the case working with Gary. :) Definitely a pro in is approach and execution of the shoots ensuring they run as smoothly as they can.

The great vibes were no different to before: countless amounts of chatting and catch-up. Relaxed a pace yet fabulous yield with image creation... He’s a true gem of a person and respects his models exceeding highly. I honestly cannot recommend him enough and already look forward to our next opportunity to work together on some cool ideas. :)

Had another lovely shoot with Gary, this time covering some Autumn fashion in a really beautiful location he has scouted (not quite as warm as our last shoot in Portugal but still great haha)

It was lovely catching up with him and we got some really fab images! Gary is always keen to take on board your input and advice too so that it's a true collaboration to get the final results :)

Gary attended my studio day in Scotland. He’s a polite and kind gentleman with a great sense of humour. I felt at ease with him straight away. He has a clear idea about the poses and settings he’s after and his directions are very good. But at the same time he was very open to my suggestions. Gary is very creative and full of great ideas. I 100% recommend him and would happily work with him again

Gary joined us on our Summers Abroad trip to Portugal and I’m really glad he did.

He was great company and he got some lovely images through the trip.

He has expressed interest in coming on one of our trips next year so hopefully he will as would be lovely to host him again :)
