References for Alastair Currill Studios

I recently shot with Alastair and the model SamJaz in a remote shoot. Alastair couldn't have been more cooperative--we messaged several times before and I always got quick responses--hard to do sometimes because since I'm in Chicago there is a 6 hr time difference. Anything I wanted to do in the shoot was done and he was on top of everything. I liked the way he and Sam interacted too. I certainly recommend him for an in-person or remote shoot. This will not be my last time with him.

I have worked many times as a model at the studio and always have a great time. I usually do group shoots and everyone who comes is really nice. The studio itself is a nice comfortable place to work in and always nice and warm. I am already planning on coming back in the summer.

Being a regular model of this studio it was my only choice for when I wanted to try studio work on the other side of the camera.

Alastair is so helpful with helping with my settings and any problems (which being my first time I had a few!)

He had a great model attending and the group was really fun to shoot alongside.

It's a really chill but friendly vibe and I would happily book on more!

This past week I have participated remotely in three group shoots (two with Lottii Rose modelling and one with FonicOfficial as the model) organised by Alastair at his studio and I must say that I have been very impressed. Each of the shoots had a great theme which was very well realised by Alastair with him providing great light set ups and backdrops, ideally suited for each of the looks we were shooting, and providing fantastic technical expertise. Communication has been excellent both during the shoots themselves and before and after, with Alastair handling any issues swiftly and effectively, and being very professional across the board. I found each of the group shoots very rewarding and am very happy with the photos I got back. I would definitely recommend Alastair's events to any photographer.

Had a really fun and energetic group shoot organised by Alastair at his lovely studio! Great pre-comms, and the group he had signed up were all super-enthusiastic and knowledgeable! Great vibe and we all had some great ideas to bring to the shoot, the time really flew by! Will definitely be coming back for more, highly recommended!

Alastair and I organised a Light Painting and Long Exposures group shoot at his Studio on the 1st April. I have worked with Alastair so many times over the last 4 years or so now, we know each other very well. Alastair always plans the shoots / sets in advance and makes sure he has the appropriate equipment he needs ready - for example for Light Painting, he had the torches / brushes in the Studio. For the Hollywood set back end of 2021, sets and lighting techniques were planned in advance with a special light brought in for the shoot. Alastair is very friendly to everyone who attends the group shoots and makes sure the time is fairly spread. You must expect some banter though! The group shoots are a good laugh and have a social aspect to them. Alastair has a strong client base of Photographers and resident models who work regularly with him at the Studio so that tells you in itself how successful the shoots are. I would always recommend attending one of his group shoots to Photographers and would of course recommend him to other models. Thanks for another great group shoot Alastair- hopefully see you again soon :) x

Attended one of Alastair's group shoots with LottiiRose in silver body paint. Very well run, Alastair was a good host, and produced some nice light settings, with some helpful hints on composition too. Thanks Alastair, looking forward to the next shoot.

Starting to feel like part of the furniture. In a good way haha. I’m based in Newcastle which is quite far but I’ve already managed to have three shoots at Alastair’s place. Each time has been an evening group shoot. Everyone that’s ever attended has been lovely to work with. Alastair is really creative and always has something fun for everyone to shoot. I can’t wait to be back and thanks for booking me again.

I first attended one of Alastair's group shoots about 14 months ago because I wanted to practice a specific technique. I don't usually enjoy working in studio environments. I have just checked my portfolio and I have attended a further 22 group shoots and a couple of outdoor shoots with Alastair. It looks like I have found a studio that I am happy to be in!

Alastair welcomes new models and photographers to his shoots. We have a lot of fun and he has gone from tolerating my random props to encouraging me to bring more props to each shoot.

Pre communication was great just like last time and i knew what we would be doing on the day. All the photographers that attended where lovely and we all got on and had a laugh throughout the night. I attended another group shoot at Alastair's Studio a couple of days ago, this time we worked with a lovely model, Louisa Lu. As always, Alastair was a great host, keeping the shoot flowing nicely and happy to try out ideas we had. I highly recommend Alastair and his studio, his group shoots are fun and varied. he's flexible when we have ideas, and he is happy to share his knowledge should you have a question. His studio is well equipped, with a variety of lights, modifiers, and backgrounds. whether your a novice or an old hand, Alastair's group studio shoots are worth a visit.

Had a great group shoot during my Gloucester tour with Alastair and a few photographers at his studio :) Alastair is chatty, fun and outgoing with great banter. Great hospitality!! He is a great photography tutor teaching all photographers during the group shoot about lighting and angles. Definitely recommended :) will definitely be back at my next Gloucester tour in the near future

I have attended a number of group shoots at Alastair's, and they have always gone well. The atmosphere is relaxed and easy-going, but the images are great. Events are well-planned, but there is always flexibility to swap ideas and try new things and variations.

Where do I start with Alastair? I've lost count of how many times I've been to his studio now. I think that says all you need to know but if that's not enough... You're guaranteed a great laugh - usually at your own expense! I consider Alastair and his studio to be a friend. He's passionate about developing the relationship with his photogrpahers and models. He even managed to rope me into a 24 hour gaming marathon for charity he organised! It's fair to say I won't be playing the Elder Scrolls Online aghain for a while after that! That however is a testament to the relationships he builds. He's always open to new ideas, themes and works collaboratively with photogrpahers of all levels to help them get the absolute best out of their camera and ideas. With any new person through the door, model or photographer, he's incredibly welcoming and quickly puts the whole room at ease. Very much looking forward to the next one.

I have shot at Alastair Currill Studios so many times over a 5 year period!! Alastair has always been welcoming, professional and demonstrates an advanced knowledge of Photography as well as Studio set ups and lighting techniques. The Studio itself is always clean, light and full of high end Photography equipment- I would say the Studio has alot more to offer than some of the others. The toilets and staff room are also always well looked after. The Studio has several coloured backdrops which is always great coming in as a model with a client. There are also various props in the Studio too. Christmas always stands out to me! As Alastair gets special festive designs in and really goes all out to give the Studio / the photos a tasteful Christmassy feel!

Alastair has always been kind enough to include me as a regular/ resident model to the Studio group shoots. And I have often come to his Studio first for private hire too. We work well together and I have always felt 100% comfortable at the Studio. The Group shoots we have done have always been good fun, relaxed and had alot of banter to them - I have particularly enjoyed the Rock Star Group shoots we have done together in 2021. I am hoping to come back to Alastairs soon over the Summer. I would absolutely recommend the Studio and Alastair himself to other Models and Photographers. It's always a safe, fun and professional environment to shoot in.

Delighted to see Alastair organise a fitness group shoot, this is a style of photography I enjoy but have not had the opportunity to shoot recently. As always, a very relaxed environment in the studio and a great choice in model with Mai Rose. Alastair laid out some great setups using Mai’s experience in the genre to pose resulting in some great images. It was interesting to see Alastair break down a number images used for inspiration and build up lighting setups to create.

I attended a fitness group shoot with Alastair and Mai at his studio in Bourton. As always, Alastair was a great host, and happy to share his knowledge , answering any questions we had in a way we could easily understand. The studio was clean, well equipped with plenty of lights, modifiers, backdrops, gels, and a smoke machine to name a few. Alastair has also recently added a tethering system to the studio so remote shooting is also possible.

I have no hesitation in recommending Alastair to any photographer, no matter your skill, and especially to a novice in studio work. I look forward to my next session soon.

This is my third visit to Alastair Curill Studios, it is a wonderful space to work in for photographers and models alike.

The studio is fully equipped with top quality equipment, ranging from various backdrops, lighting equipment, gels, smoke machine, fan... you name it!

Alastair has also invested in top quality tethering equipment, so remote shoots can be done with ease.

It is a good sized studio with plenty of space for group shoots too!

Lastly, Alastair himself is such a lovely guy who always creates a calm yet fun and enjoyable atmosphere! Thank you Alastair! :)
