Be honest- Do you love your own photography?

The models I shoot now look like the young women I knew in the ‘70s.
Slim and athletic, because they were almost all enthusiastic horsewomen.

Sorry Marissa. The point I was trying to make is that not every model on PP can be "great or competent" and therefore will never be on any photographers "WTSW" list. For me personally I'd like to see the photographer "gems" (to quote Afrofilmviewer) out there being more creative by using different models, rather than (and this is purely my subjective view) select the most beautiful models who have the ability to light up any photograph with their presence.
That's a subject worth a new post on it's own

This is a tricky one. I photograph quite a range of people - the oldest model was 80 - but there’s definitely a bias towards those who are most arresting.
Then there’s selection bias too: when I make images which aren’t likely to appeal to a PP audience I don’t post them on PP.
I have to admit I am really struggling with what to post on PP, at present I post anything anything up to the old Page 3 standard, but implied with clothing, objects or limbs etc (no nipples). Though I have those shots and have experimented with one topless published to see how well received it would be. It is not well liked and although I love some of the topless work more than the clothed ones (exhibitionist tendencies) I have no plans to publish anymore YET!
I maybe mistaken but the PP viewing bias does seem to push towards NSFW and ADULT, rather than SFW and I do struggle with the idea of having my new uploads next to an adult or lower half nudity photography, but I'm sure that the photographer and model in those photographs are equally as unhappy about being slotted next to me :-)

I actually don't think whether an image is Safe for Work or not when I take it.
However,I often have to decide that one of my images is NSFW even though the model is fully dressed.
I find it is almost easier to label everything as Not Safe and forget about whether it is so.

I don't really understand what the borderline is on SFW and NSFW, but I know NSFW can show very little or an awful lot before it becomes adult
sorry off topic, I will stop

If you shoot and mark your work as SFW and then switch off adult and NSFW, then when you view PP your images will be shown alongside other SFW images. Most of your port is marked as NSFW, therefore when you upload them you will be queued next to whatever the people before and after you have uploaded, it's just the way the platform works. Personally I couldn't care less if there was a picture of cat next to mine when I upload them.
If as you say viewing is skewed towards NSFW and Adult then those people aren't going to be interested in what you are posting so I don't see the issue. In fact it begs the question as to whether you should be able to switch SFW off if you want to.
Strikes me that what you really want is a completely SFW platform for whatever reason (which I think you mentioned before). Thankfully PP is highly unlikely to become that for which I am extremely grateful because trying to avoid censorship by the prude police to appease the Bible Belt Americans on US social networks is becoming increasingly difficult. At least here if you don't want to see T&A you have a choice.

As you responded, I would have wanted SFW in the past but as you can see some of my stuff is not SFW, so I would shoot myself in the foot there. That said I would like more accurate filter levels because NSFW includes quite high levels including genitalia down to implied topless, shear topless and implied (can see nothing) nude. Though I'm not sure if you have an open shirt showing partial breast is NSFW or SFW so I chose NSFW, but I know that NSFW included genitalia but not open leg or from below or behind.
I would like to see filters based upon Page 3, then full nudity no genitalia, then everything else Adult, I realise that isn't going to happen so I get on with it.

I've asked before for a way of removing all the bedroom bondage from my feed without getting rid of the NSFW stuff. Admin said no.

MaristarOxley I often teach quite technical stuff. But I do like to remind people that in the end the technical stuff is just a detail: it’s all about what you point it at :)
It's not even that, it's a means to an end not an end in itself.
One can take good photos with poor technique but you can have all the technique in the world but a bad idea will still make bad photos (this applies to a lot of images here.)

Page 3 feels like a cultural reference that not everyone will get. Though apparently it was still current more recently than i thought. Maybe a slider rather than categories would work, from an actual portrait of Mary Whitehouse to actual sex? ;) Personally I'm OK with a "can I browse on the bus" filter. (What is seen at work is very variable, in my experience.)
In answer to the OP I love some of my pictures. Maybe 1%. They may not be perfect, but neither are my kids and I still love them. Some have taught me, rather than been great - and I'm OK with that. Some I still love a year later, others grow on me with a bit of space. Some I love for the memories, more than their artistic merit (holiday pictures, landscapes from days in the outdoors as well as model shoots).
The process of taking the pictures is good for my head too.

That would be incredibly irritating to all the art nude photographers and models who shoot full frontal nudes but do not wish to be associated with adult.
I cannot see the site adopting more than three bands - people get confused with what we have.
The site is designed around the majority viewpoint and as with a lot of things, it is best to ignore the extremities wants otherwise the main site users will either be shamed or overtaken by readers wives porn

Ansel Adams is supposed to have said something like "there's nothing worse than a sharp picture of a fuzzy concept".
Personally I think the technical qualities of one's images are all ultimately only of any value in service to all their other qualities. (So in my case.... largely worthless!)

Yep.
IMO the pursuit of technical perfection can sometimes strangle the life out of a picture. The pic can become too sterile.
[I await incoming flak.]

Genitalia on show is adult https://purpleport.com/articles/1/image-upload-guidelines/ You get the odd person who tries it on but they are mostly picked up imo.
We all have opinions about what we would and wouldn't like to see so it's difficult to cater to individual views. If image blocking worked properly then I think that would help because you would be able to filter out more. I know people get their knickers in a twist about blocking but it's just filtering really, I'm all for that.

Absolutely.
I'm not about to start pixellating stuff, or putting blobs over genitalia, but I'd be unhappy with an "Adult" label. Misses the point of the photos I think.
If I have to, I might start photoshopping pubic hair on where there isn't any....
