Oh goodness, that is very sad :-(
A big-hearted man. Several times in my most depressed or anxious phases, he knew exactly what to say to help.
What a loss :-(

Sad news indeed 😥
I never met Jerome but enjoyed his work and his measured and sensible contributions on the fora.
R.I.P.

I am very sorry to hear about this. His presence was huge and a major part of the PP community.

I knew Jerome over many years in various fora and met him several times IRL at assorted events. He was exactly the same IRL as on line. A sort of much bolshier real life Hagrid and a great character. R.I.P.

I was hoping to be the one to break this news to the community but thank you FIL for getting there before me.
I knew Jeremy from the days of the groups shoots organised via Net-Model and we would meet up in order to share shoot opportunities, inspire each other or to visit some photographic exhibition or other in London. He was well respected as a moderator on a number of networking sites for his balanced and pragmatic approach to the duties that entailed. I visited him only last week and spent some quality time with him and his wife, enjoying a couple of meals and glasses of wine - we all thought that whilst the future was unknown he was responding both mentally and physically to his treatment. It therefore came as something of a shock to receive a 'phone call this morning to say that Jeremy had died peacefully in his sleep 24 hours earlier.
Funeral arrangements are not yet known - once they are I shall add to this thread.
The shot below was taken on one of his frequent visits to me in South Wales (he's the ugly one in the tree)

A true gentleman who helped me learn how to use a camera way back on a net model group shoot. He attended studland a few times, and we met up socially for a pint on a number of occasions.
He will be sadly missed by many people.
I'll raise a glass to the big hairy bugger tonight!

I note that his last activity here was a post concerning coffee machines - a man who got his priorities right!.
RIP
