Still don’t understand how photographers are doing this

That’s the key point.  He has raised this issue on a number of occasions and never listens to the advice he gets.  I think he is one of those people who think that the world owes him a living because he bought a camera.

Thelema The OP has posted quite a lot of threads in recent months and they always end up with him not replying or listening to some sound and useful advice. I'm beginning to think it must be a spoof account of some sort.

Op don't buy more gear until you advance yourself on any editing program , more gear will not improve photography and is not necessary ( I say this because you mentioned buying more gear on your other thread) If you want to buy more gear as a sort of self gift though no one is stopping you.

Rat agree with alot of this.

But in the forums it's easier to "debate" and do nothing than take take action and achieve something.

Reminds me of other examples.

Used to write and podcast for a media website a while back.

Owner: "we need to monetize the site"

Everyone: "how about (various ideas)"

Owner: "I don't want to do that."

There is no site anymore.

Same with a writer I used to know and fell out with.

Writer: "No one is buying my books"

Me: "You need to schedule promotion and approach people outside your circle of friends"

Writer: "I don't want to do that"

He is still in the same place he was 3 years ago.

I'm sure many could impart good advice here.

But personally... I'd rather be shooting.

Multiple posts, with a lot of good advice given and still asking the same questions...

Thw OP is not listening at all, or as someone else suggested, is some kind of spoof account who enjoys stiring the pot now and then

I suspect that these photographers are either putting up aspirational rates on the basis of ignorance of the market, or perhaps so they can appear professional to new models and seem generous when they ‘reduce’ their rates to TFP?

Also uncanny is the fact that since I made a comment two hours ago about the possibility of this being a spoof, this thread has not appeared in the 'recent group discussions' on my page.  I thought for a moment  it had been sin binned.

The internet is full of chancers who post things of £1 value at £100 asking price and hope even one mug falls for it.
