If someone gave you $20,000 tomorrow, what would you spend it on?

Most I would invest in booze, drugs and hookers... the rest I would just squander

I get emails like this everyday, so I already have my list - I'd be sure to spend it on; foreign lottery tickets, bitcoin promotions, helping miscellaneous people at the UN staff/Princes/Generals/long lost relatives get money out of distant lands, any number of purveyors of "fine" goods, bathroom fittings, roofing accessories, all sorts of drugs/medications, numerous life insurance policies, self improvement courses, fine wines, sunglasses, handbags, dental work, or an attorney.

My current lifestyle is perfectly fine so it would go to Ukrainian charities. The brave people of Ukraine need it far more than I do and it would give me great pleasure to help.

Ah I was offered a similar amount from a Nigerian prince last week but he wanted £10,000 so he could access his funds.
He can £5,000 and the rest when he gets his throne back, im not an idiot!

Use some of it to top up the trade in value of my car so I don't have to put us in hock for the next 60 months.
Use the remainder to finish of the mortgage (keep meaning to, but stuff like needing a new roof, furniture, redundancy and Covid got in the way).
If there's any left from that, pay for my wife to have a weekend away somewhere; she worked hard looking after me following my accident, and her work load has increased due to the stuff I can't do anymore.
I'd like to say I'd be altruistic and give it all to charity etc, but I'd be lying.

15,000 lottery tickets.
Actually, I’d give it to an assassin to take out Putin. 🇺🇦

Donate a chunk to charity - then buy premium bonds for the grandchildren - with a few winnings over the years, help pay for (or towards) uni tuition should they want to go down that route.

With the strength of the pound, I expect you'd be getting about £5k for $20k. Def not £15k at any rate....

If I win the lottery tonight, I'll add it all to your hit-man's wages. It'll be worth every penny.

I'd really love to say I would be so selfless as many other people in here, but financially it's been an incredibly difficult year for us and this would really be a life changing amount of money.
To just not have to be so constantly worried about money for a time would really be incredible, and most would go towards saving for a house deposit, which is our current out of reach dream after these last few years! And that's my honest answer!

One thing I've learned over the last couple of years- it can be futile planning for the future when there may be no future, so make the most of today.
