Work from home in information section

Hi

Not sure if it's already an option.

It's frustrating when people don't read your profile notes that say you cannot work from home.

I know the travel and own transport is in the information bit.

Can we have work from home /cannot work from home in there too at all? Does anyone else think this is a good idea?

And perhaps added to model search or maybe it is already there.

That information is already there for those who wish to see it. Both in searches and on models folio. Sounds like it’s people not reading or being ignorant of that information.

It ain't limited to just working from home. Some don't read anything, nor list accurate stats or anything else in their own stuff.

Maybe for now just highlight it in bold in your notes....I spotted it in there.

Hello Zara_Lee :)

There is an option for letting others know that you can work from home. If someone selects Home shoots to their Work Preferences page, it adds that they can "work from home" in the Information section on their portfolio page. Anyone who enables the Home shoots option on their portfolio will appear in the results on the Search feature when other creatives use the Can work at home filter.

Is that two names for the same thing? Or almost 3.

And could "Home shoots" be misinterpreted as "will come along to photographers' homes to shoot"?

Yes, I'm with you on that one. I got contacted only this morning for a shoot asking me to shoot from home when my notes clearly state I don't do home shoots.

What was even more frustrating is that at the top of my notes it clearly states I'm not undertaking shoots atm due to recovering from an operation.

If people took just 5 extra seconds to read things properly so many issues could be avoided

Laura -- point taken. However, I think that some folk would read Zara's notes (foe example) and think 'It does not say that she does not work from home, so I'll ask'.

So might there be scope for expanding that section of profile notes to state more firmly if the person does not work from home, does not have their own transport etc?

Having suggested it, I do realise it would be spoon-feeding.

I agree, I don't think it's spoonfeeding it's making things as clear as possible which is a big plus in model photography.

I like the way it’s done over on Modelfolio/Adultfolio where you get a clear list of important information:

Shoot at Home?

Video Work?

Stills Work?

Agency Represented?

Require a chaperone?

Accept published work?

Can we not have something similar here?

Not wishing to detract from the original post but I would find it useful to see an option for those that will or will not work on location.

It's two names, but I've spoken with our Development Team so we can make it just one :)

I found this information really useful and have updated my profile accordingly. Thank you.

If someone chooses not to read the information on a portfolio page/portfolio notes, then repeating information (e.g. cannot work from home) from someone's portfolio notes elsewhere on their portfolio page (such as the information section) won't help.

...and if there's any way of encouraging people to state whether or not they have their own transport, that's something I and a lot of other non-townies (i.e. we're miles from any station or any worthwhile public transport) would welcome, please.
