Aurora is a full-time model based in Budapest, Hungary, who has more than 13 years of experience.

After recently sharing their photoshoot (featuring photographer Karoly Sultan Cser) with the PurplePort community, Aurora generously gave us her time for a quick interview to go into more detail about the shoot.

How did you come up with the concept? Did anything inspire you?

I had this idea in my mind for a good few years, stemming from a desire to revisit a "sporty" concept.

Having previously collaborated on a running-themed shoot with Karoly Sultan Cser, I decided to explore another sports theme.

The proximity of the basketball court, right at my doorstep on the square where I live, sparked the idea for a basketball-themed shoot with a hint of retro vibes.

What did you do to plan the shoot?

To plan the shoot, I looked for inspiration on Pinterest, creating a moodboard for outfits, hair, and makeup.

I ordered four different sets of outfits online, focusing on the aesthetic I had in mind. Shoes from the Hungarian brand "Dorko" perfectly complemented the style, and I got some sports socks to enhance the overall look.

I did my own makeup and hair to ensure every detail aligned with the envisioned concept.

How did you arrange the shoot?

I knew off the bat that I wanted to ask Karoly Sultan Cser for this project. We've worked together a good few times, and he has also done similar projects in the past.

He was very excited for the project when I shared what I had in mind, including the locations, outfits, etc. He borrowed the basketball for the shoot from a friend.

What was it like shooting at that location?

Fortunately, I was familiar with the location, and being so close to my home allowed me to easily pop in for outfit changes and hair and makeup touch-ups. This convenience is quite rare when working on locations.

To ensure ideal lighting, we had to start in the afternoon. Initially, sharing the court with others was fine, but as the shoot progressed, more and more people joined. But you wouldn't be able to tell by just looking at the photos

What's your favourite image from the shoot?

My favorite image is the one below. I love how the location, outfit, and pose harmonize seamlessly.
