You've checked the weather forecast for your photoshoot, and your heart sinks; it's forecast for rain. Time to cancel, right?

Well, not necessarily! Shooting in the rain can produce powerful and alluring images. That forecast for rain could be the perfect opportunity for you to capture these atmospheric images and add them to your portfolio.  

Whilst shooting in the rain comes with the obvious challenge of preventing your camera gear from getting wet, there's also the challenge of successfully capturing the raindrops and the 'mood' in your images.

Catching fast-moving raindrops in your photos can be achieved by selecting a fast shutter speed (though if you'd prefer to keep the raining 'look' in your images, you can experiment with a longer shutter speed).
