A Guide for Upgrading To PurplePort VIP

PurplePort has two types of membership available to all accounts:

  • PurplePort VIP (paid)
  • Free

You can purchase PurplePort VIP for 1 month or 12 months at a time (see your Subscription page for pricing information). 

We use PayPal to process all payments for PurplePort VIP, but you don't need a PayPal account to purchase a subscription. You can use either your credit/debit card (using PayPal's guest checkout) or PayPal account to make a subscription payment and choose to make either a one-off payment or set up automatic payments (so your account is never downgraded)

Setting up automatic payments (a recurring subscription) is ideal if you prefer that your PurplePort VIP is automatically renewed (either every month or year) without the hassle of remembering to purchase a new subscription each time your PurplePort VIP is due to expire. This option allows PayPal to make payments to PurplePort automatically on your behalf. 

Making a one-off payment is perfect if you want to use PurplePort VIP without any commitment to an ongoing subscription. 

Purchasing a subscription to PurplePort VIP gives you full access to valuable and time-saving features so you can easily find the best creatives, arrange fabulous photoshoots, and share more of your beautiful work. It also supports us, enabling us to improve our service, features and tools, and helps ensure our community continues to expand. 

How to purchase a PurplePort VIP subscription

Go to your Subscription page. 

Choose the duration of the PurplePort VIP you wish to purchase, which is either 12 months (selected by default) or 1 month.

Automatic payments are enabled as the default option selected to pay for your PurplePort VIP subscription. If you prefer to make a one-off payment instead, untick the box for Subscribe with auto-renewal payments.†.

Enter your invoice details, and then click Upgrade

On the next page, confirm your selection, and click Continue to PayPal to proceed with payment. 

On the PayPal website, choose to pay for your subscription using either your PayPal account (enter your details and click Next) or your credit/debit card (click Pay by Debit or Credit Card), and then follow the instructions to complete the payment.

Check your emails for confirmation of payment

Once payment is completed, you will receive:

  • an email from PurplePort confirming your subscription purchase
  • an email from PayPal with a receipt for the payment

If you set up automatic payments, you receive a second email from PayPal with details about the automatic payment you have set up to PurplePort (including instructions for changing or cancelling your subscription using your PayPal account).

We'll provide you with an invoice for each subscription purchase you make. You can access all of your invoices under the heading Transaction Log on your Subscription page (near the bottom of the page).

Can I purchase a PurplePort VIP subscription without using a PayPal account?

Yes, you can make a one-off payment or set up automatic payments (a recurring subscription) using Payal's guest checkout option. After you have chosen your subscription preferences on your Subscription page and head over to PayPal, click Pay by Debit or Credit Card to pay using your credit/debit card (instead of your PayPal account).

How do I know I have set up automatic payments (a recurring subscription)?

If you have set up automatic payments, your Subscription page will say You are currently subscribed to PurplePort via PayPal. Otherwise, you will see You do not currently have a recurring subscription enabled.

Why is auto-renewal always selected on my subscription page?

The Subscribe with auto-renewal payments.† box on your Subscription page is selected by default, ready for when you next upgrade your account. Don't worry; it has no effect until you upgrade. When you next upgrade, you can untick this box if you want to make a one-off payment (instead of setting up automatic payments).

What happens to my subscription if I purchase, win or redeem PurplePort VIP?

When you purchase, win or redeem PurplePort VIP before your current VIP expires, we add this to the end of your existing subscription (by extending the expiry date of your PurplePort VIP) so you won't lose any PurplePort VIP you have previously purchased. 

If you have a recurring subscription (automatic payments), this won't be affected, and payments will continue as usual until you cancel. To avoid an unwanted payment, please cancel your recurring subscription before the next payment is due.

What happens if I can't access PurplePort VIP features after upgrading?

Try logging out and back in (or closing your web browser and opening it again). If that doesn't work, please contact us by creating a support ticket, and our team will help you.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel automatic payments (a recurring subscription) anytime:

  • If you paid using a PayPal account, go to your Subscription page, click Cancel your subscription and follow the instructions on the PayPal website
  • If you paid using a credit/debit card, contact us by creating a support ticket via our Help & Support page, and we will cancel this for you
